  1. Yep, I start a new job on Oct 3 and the first thing they did when deciding was to pull me off the current job for a week to attend a vSphere bootcamp... And then then last week they upgraded to a newer version so I have to go to the same thing for the new version... yay, can't wait /sarcasm.
  2. Or you could go into a field that will never end, like IT-business/strategic alignment. It's sort of like the 'performance management' field that all these businesses spend hundreds of millions of dollars on every year and it's the same thing as it was in the 60's. The only changes are the flavor of the day catchphrases.
  3. I like my assumptions though. Growing up in a family of five, I remember my mom crying one day when she was doing their taxes ( was probably 11 or 12 at the time) because she seen that they made a total of $10,000 that year. Not only had our electric cut off, but even had our water cut off a few times in that era. So I know exactly what it is like to be poor. Know what happened? When the whole understanding about being poor set into my brain, I went door to door asking and started mowing yards. From the age of 13 on, my parents never bought me a single item for school, my clothes or anything. Everything came from the money I made. Still wasn't much, but the whole point is that we are pacifying laziness and mediocrity because of the 'poor baby' syndrome. Poor thing is so bad off, we just have to give them something... Who are you to judge what they went through... yada yada yada. Philippines has a fantastic welfare policy that we should adopt - if you want to eat, you go find work. problem solved. You want to have 11 babies? You better find a lot of work.
  4. I have to disagree, I don't need to have a conversation with someone that has expendable funds to buy things like pop and sushi, to be pissed off when they break out an EBT card on the side to buy other things. If things are so bad that you need an EBT card, you will not be in a position to have 'extra' money. Make me king for a day and this is the first issue I'll fix.
  5. Don't hate, people will find out in 6 months when they start trying to burn through it as their cars start screwing up from knock. They're just helping out the local mechanics.
  6. cause everybody likes techno.
  7. Supposed to be fixed next week, and they had two pipelines, the one carrying jet fuel was diverted to carry normal gas. And yeah it is bad around here too. Went to take the trash & get some non-ethanol mower gas, sure as heck they were out.. of everything. Go to a shell station, out of everything except regular and of course there were multiple trucks there with beds full of 2-3 gallon cans topping all of them off. I need to buy stock in M&M's then pay the news stations to run a story about how the machines that make the candy shell are being banned by the FDA in December.
  8. What concerns me more is the level of panic that a week old news story was able to cause with people. I think I really need to reconsider the seriousness of what would happen during an actual SHTF scenario.
  9. Sweet baby jesus people are stupid. They probably spent $100 on a container and hand pump. Then they also have 55 gallons of gas sitting in a shed (hopefully not a garage in their house) just waiting to cause a problem. If a truck can haul 10,000 gallons (probably more than that) this entire debacle is over a total of 30 FREAKING TRUCKS. Entire east cost in a panic over fewer gas tankers than I seen sitting at Flying J by my house this morning.
  10. There's no issue. That pipeline busted a week before the news reports and it's nothing but the ammo shortage panic except with gas. OMG everyone run and buy gas because they are running out!!! Why are they running out? Because everyone is running out and buying gas!!! Unlike ammo, they can only hold a certain amount of gas. they're not filling up 5000 gallon tanks at their house because of a 'shortage' and hoarding it.
  11. on demand is just the same as any broadcast. The availability of a rebroadcast may come with constraints from the channel itself, or it could be as a service charge type cost from Comcast to its customers. OTA has nothing to do with it, since you're not watching it OTA.
  12. It will not be stopped, it's the same thing as watching a broadcasted tv show.
  13. Google fiber is cutting back man, they are refocusing resources on wireless now. I didn't realize how difficult it was for them to come into a place, apparently they have to have a permit for every single telephone pole they use and the other companies have to respond to requests - that's why it was going in so slow. Think the news article said they were still waiting on responses for 44,000 applications (poles). Here's an article about them repositioning to wireless. http://www.theverge.com/2016/8/25/12652734/google-fiber-access-alphabet-layoffs-wireless-internet
  14. practice before the party!
  15. Put a rare earth magnet on the bottom somewhere, a decent size one will trip the in ground sensors. Had to do that to a 600CC ninja cause it would never trip anything - set up as a track bike with carbon fiber wheels so there was almost no metal near the ground except the pan on the engine
  16. Make sure to stop in Texas and wash all of that communist filth off your stuff before entering the state. Then you will be welcomed here more than you expected. In this magical land, you can almost own anything you want. No more bullet buttons to thwart training, no more discrimination on your guns based on their race or color. You can burn #### in your yard if you want, and rest easy because the majority of your neighbors will be heavily armed as well (even if they tell you they're not). Welcome!
  17. I got a copy of the stars and stripes from 9/12/01 framed for this purpose. To remind me of all the freedoms that were washed away because of that day. What is really sad is that we knew that process would start within hours of the attack.
  18. This is a brilliant idea, glad to see these little things starting to find new jobs to help people. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=042_1473271734
  19. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=894_1473233913 And it happened on camera of all things
  20. Don't be bringing those pesky facts around here!
  21. Probably not, I get frustrated at all of the stupidity (gun control as a whole) and listening to other people expose more of the stupidity just aggravates me.
  22. Why does anyone still watch the NFL? That organization is effectively the antithesis of what most people stand for on the board.
  23. he didn't lose a penny when that rocket exploded. SpaceX did, which is a bad thing, because they are doing some really cool stuff right now.
  24. yeah, johnny depp does a great job in the remake, but you just can't fill those shoes.
