yeah that's what makes this light strange... you can see it is literally as bright out at 300 yards as it is at 50 yards. I guess it's some ancient chinese voodoo or something powering the light.

Here's a pic, the trees in this are about 50 yards from where I am standing. The barn is at least 300 yards away, on the opposite side of my neighbor's cow field. It would go much further, I just don't want to walk across the road to the field and get a longer shot to something else.

damn so about 50% brighter than I thought. It's really f'n bright was all I knew. Construction is definitely chinese quality, but at $30 it's a throw away light anyways.

Thanks guys, I meant to say "flip" not "slip". I don't much care about the iron sights being useful, so that's not much of a deal. I think 3x will work pretty good - it's a 2 moa dot and this isn't a precision rifle... this was free-handing a zero at 57 yards with no magnification on the red dot at the range. First time I ever shot a bullpup (was all over on that first shot group) fairly impressed, but definitely need magnification of some sort to get it zeroed out at 100 and need to fire it supported to see how accurate the gun itself is without me waving around madly

I never consider anything on any race cars 'mainstream'. If that was the case, KERS would be considered common right now and there's not a single instance of it on anything other that exotics or race cars.

Knowing what an 800 lumen light looks like, I would say it's around double that.

Most stuff on the interwebs that sounds too good to be true usually is. But my buddy had one of these flashlights with him over the weekend. At his house we had a field of view, probably 250-300 meters to the woodline from his deck and this el cheapo thing lit up about a 20 foot spot brighter than any flash light I had seen before. This thing is no joke kind of blind people you point it at bright. If you ever have a need for spotlighting, get one of these. I just ordered one for myself after seeing it in person. Twin charging has been around for about 10 years or so. With advancements in turbo technology, it's completely useless.

Haven't messed with the red dot/magnifier combo before and thought I would put one on the tavor. Have the red dot already picked out, holosun hs503c (really pleased with it on the mp5) and was thinking I could pop a magnifier on the back end of it. Does anyone have recommendations for the magnifier? It has to be able to flip to the side, and not looking for anything fancy. Shots out to 100-200 meters is what I will be going for, anything beyond that and I'll use something other than a varmint caliber.
