  1. You pegged it there
  2. Well, as much as I hate to admit it... my wife got interested in guns because one of her friends had one and it was "pretty pink". I noticed the "look at me and my gun" show happening and the idiot (friend) was flinging a gun around a table saying "it's ok, it's not loaded". That day I decided I needed to buffer out those idiots and teach her myself. Since then, she has given up all hope for those idiots and cares more about how the gun performs to her than what anyone else thinks of it.**Thank God** Growing up in the country and heading into the military @ 17 kept me away from most of those types of people, but I guess having a gun is more of a cool factor for most people. They don't understand how it can save and ruin your life at the same time... They just look at it as turning them into James Dean and Superman
  3. We own a total of 4 Taurus' (2) 357's, (1) .45 and (1) 9mm. Don't much care for the 9mm and .45, but the 357's had a bit of work done to them and the triggers are pretty sweet now. Can't really do a lot to the semi's, but they are dependable as all get out, just don't expect to use them more than a few yards out with that lawyer trigger and you'll be good to go. People are moving away from Taurus because many of them expect to get the quality of a $1500 Dan Wesson in a $300 composite weapon and they are disappointed when they find out how not awesome a $300 gun is. * Too add on that, one of my coworkers dropped his .40 24/7 and damaged the slide. Taurus actually replaced his slide for him at no cost, even though it was 100% his fault. I have no idea how often they do that kind of thing, but that kind of support is why we have these.
  4. Just stumbled across this site while searching for some info. We're in Knoxville and moving to Nashville in a few weeks so my wife can finish up law school again (she did 5 years of law school in the Philippines and NSoL has a special program for people with foreign law degrees, I believe it only requires around 30% of the credits to be eligible to take the bar exam here in TN). Anyways, we're fairly average and boring people. What I was trying to find out was some information on a new process for CCL's. I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that the state was looking into waiving the permit fees for veterans, and I cannot relocate that information now. Does anyone know if that went through or got shot down, or if it is still in the works?
