Since it's a standalone router, I can fix that problem with a reflash. And if they have everything locked out I'll just plug back up mine.

Yeah that was the bad thing, I just bought a new modem that will work with their service but they require the rental of theirs. They do toss in a new Netgear AC3200 nighthawk router for free though (to use) which will be an upgrade from my old Asus AC1750. And there is no cap on allotted bandwidth, I did verify that.

Go ahead and give in, Google fiber reduced their department size by 50% because they are going to refocus their efforts on wireless technologies since they are having so many problems putting in fiber lines.

I'm ok with 1080p on the x1... tv does 4k, but considering I went a full year and just realized the x1 was defaulted on 720p (realized this two weeks ago), I'll be content for some time on 1080 lol

That's the problem... they were going 65. terminal velocity on ice for anything running a turbo encabulator is 64.5mph on ice.

Normally I mock the bad drivers around town, but this morning on the interstate was actually dangerous. I'll reserve smart ass remarks for the next time.

As they said previously, all you can do is deter, you will never stop a determined person.

Great thing about the electronic locks is when they break, they just turn into regular locks - like an escalator.

Yep, not bolted down = smash and grab. Bolted down and I doubt they want to hang around for 10-15 minutes after the alarm goes off lol.

Not really, we just understand the likelihood of an issue is minimal and that unlike the movies, we're not important enough for foreign governments to send their equivalent to the CIA to hack into our systems, nor will thieves come in with black vans, repelling gear and glass cutters to access the house. Common sense goes a long way with technology.

I use smart locks on all the doors, garage door sensors/openers/closers. Will never go back to normal locks after having these. The locks are great because when family shows up I can just pop the lock open for them, or assign them a temporary pin code that expires when they leave. Also helpful when you're coming in a different door and forgot your key, or if someone drops off an expensive package and you trust your neighbor, you can pop the door open for them to sit the package inside. Garage doors are self-explanatory, how many times have you drove off and not remembered if the door closed or not? It's nice being able to double check with your phone. Nothing else other than an alarm. Electric is so cheap out here I just leave the t-stat the same all the time. Have no use for something to turn on the lights for me, seems like a waste of money imho.

Not sure if it was a blanket removal for all options, but the rep did say there is no cap on this one.

It is a lot, most everyone on this board only owns a break barrel .22lr Everything else has been lost over the years through a series of boating accidents.

ah yeah I remember when we went from dial up to a bonded ISDN at a whopping 256k in Germany... that was the tits!

signed up a few weeks ago for the comcast 1gb internet notification thing, they called today and said they were pushing it out. Only $20/more than I was paying for the 300mb package. Downside is they require you to use their modem even if yours supports the speeds. thought I would share for those of you looking to get some faster interwebs speeds. Initially I thought the 1gig package was only for fiber, but it is for baseband customers, fiber is a completely different offering (which I would rather have but it won't be in my area for probably 20 years).

Did it start back in 2013? I thought it was this year. They must've done a slot change or something last year because I sure don't remember her being on that prime time spot that long. Or I could be wrong, she may have had the same spot for a long time, she's just an annoying wench that I never really cared to listen to.

good riddance. I knew she was leaving shortly after she got her own show because she started refusing to debate people that went against the fox narrative. It was pretty obvious

No ####, there I was... in AIT and got contacted by DELTA

Not sure to believe a global warming site on weather predictions, but then again, the normal weather people are normally just as wrong. I'll just stick to looking out the window in the morning.

You can get bookshelf doors prebuilt, hell probably even from homedepot/lowes.

+1, the first 48 hours after my wreck in 2011 was over a $190,000 hospital bill... And that was just for medical. Before that I carried the minimum, never again.

It'll be interesting to see if insurance rates in TN start going up now since people don't have a choice now. They went up in KY when a similar law was enacted many moons ago. Slowly started creeping up over a few years, and now in KY insurance is at least 50% higher than here in TN. When I moved from KY to TN in 2010, the same coverage by the same company on 3 vehicles went from $250/month to $150ish. Hope it doesn't happen here too.

I would rethink that carefully, have read around on the interwebs that shipping containers should never be used as underground shelters because the roofs aren't designed to support the weight.
