  1. When we moved to Nashville at the end of May the total was 327 iirc, so in TN alone, we're losing +/- 100 people a month. Anyone have a statistic on how many firearm related deaths we have per month?
  2. That grandma one was great lol! told the car jackers "‘Baby, you’re going to kill me anyway, so I don’t have to open it!’†Then she pops a couple rounds off herself
  3. Wife does similar stuff for another company. They keep their workers on GPS and require them to be in certain areas during certain times. The companies usually pay for licenses/permits so they can peddle their goods, even in places that say no soliciting. I think she said the law is no earlier than 8am and no later than 9pm (not 100% sure on this, would have to ask her) As for the complaint, if the guy was doing what he was told to do, your complaint will go in the trash once it hits their office. I wouldn't even waste the effort.. Now if the guy was a total douche and being disrespectful, that's another case altogether.
  4. Met Ray the other night at the movie screening, he's still kicking around pretty good!
  5. The canons were designed by a German company but manufactured in the states. Now they're probably made in China, with tech support located in India for the engineers
  6. Got one of those cheap chinese ones from a gun show for $25, it has green and red along with 4 different style reticles. Absolutely love it, it's consistant and just so easy to shoot with both eyes open and no strain at all. I have a lot of trouble using post sights with both eyes open, ring sights are no problem though.. it's a weird issue. For the ones recommending the fiber optic sights, is there any issue with shooting them in bright light? It may not even be a problem that exists, I've just never had the chance to use them so I have no idea what the pro's/con's are other than working better in low-light.
  7. A dod contract would have Glock's purchased at $1500-$2000 each as well. Any one of us would be able to buy it for a fraction of the price, but there's a lot of guarantees included in gov. contracts which we are not receiving when we pick up one at a LGS.
  8. That pretty much sums it up
  9. Anyone have a recommendation from personal experience on a set of higher vis sights for the mkiii? We bought a reflex optic (which I absolutely love) but it's my wife's gun and she prefers the patridge style oem one but it's difficult at times when using black targets. Have never messed with the low light fiber optic sights, so I'm not sure if they act as well in normal or bright lighting conditions.
  10. For us as a country to supposedly be color blind, we sure do put a lot of effort and money into figuring out and tracking people's ethnicity.
  11. I agree, it's a complex mess and hard to discuss through the filters of internet text.
  12. I recommend this one http://www.nmcollectorsoftware.com/downloads/ there's a free version on there. Not sure what restrictions the free version has on it, but we paid a few bucks years ago for the full version. Give that free one a run and see if you like it, the full version is fantastic and performs a lot more real-world uses than db's/spreadsheets can do.
  13. ^ this
  14. Heard on the radio today that there is a lot of legislation on firearms trying to be slipped through in one liners hidden inside of other laws. They really need to pass that legislation about the laws having to fit on one page or they are not allowed.
  15. Been drooling over one of these for a couple of weeks now. Met the wife's technical requirement of selling one of our current stockpile before being allowed to get it.. Sad but true. Sold the Bersa UC Pro 45 to a member here and ran down the road to Franklin to pick this up on the way home. Going to order a .40 barrel and 9mm conversion this weekend, was too expensive at the shop to have them get it for me. This officially makes me a flip-flopper for talking trash about glock and then buying one.
  16. Violent games and media have ZERO to do with this stuff. Lived in korea for almost three years and they have more gruesome games and movies than you could ever get away with here in the states and hardly any violent crime even in big cities like Seoul. The only fights I ever seen there were all started by American soldiers, usually involving alcohol and there was only one murder that I know of. When that happened it seemed like the entire country shut down and was disgusted by it actually happening. * that murder was also by an American soldier to top it off
  17. If you all can see that movie, it ties all of the muslim stuff right in with what Denish called "Obama's fore-fathers" of the people who mentored him then it all goes right back around to being anti-colonial... Saul Alinsky is a lightweight compared to Frank Marshall Davis (which I wasn't even aware was "watching" over Obama for about 8 years)
  18. We just got back from that private screening this of 2016: Obama's America and I think Denish D'Souza may be on to something... The film had almost no entertainment value at all, but it had about as much information as it could without giving you a headache. He is suggesting that Obama is not a fascist, communist or any of the other labels people label him with. Instead, he is an anti-colonialist. The way he ties all of that in together with the interviews and the mindset of a few of the interviewees (including Obama's half-brother) brings out a point of view that better explains our current situation than any other explanation I've seen. Would recommend watching it when you can, I think Denish said they were going to all-out with it in Aug. and release it on DVD in Oct.
  19. They just need a new law that requires the signs to be bright orange. Obviously the shooter would not have entered the premises if there was a more visible sign because he didn't want to break the law or anything.
  20. Brother and dad both swear by Dewalt, but I have one of these $20 ones and it is just as strong http://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/cordless-drills/18-volt-cordless-38-drilldriver-with-keyless-chuck-68239.html Been using the same one for a couple of years now and it gets banged around a lot in the garage... When the battery goes out, I'll just buy a new drill and for a fraction of the cost they pay for a replacement battery. On some things quality makes a huge difference, but there's definitely not $100 worth of difference between these cheap ones and the high-end ones
  21. +1 People drop out of high school their last year to keep from graduating so they can get on the draw. Don't need a high school diploma to push a lawn mower or pick up trash.
  22. We wouldn't need to even think about this again if they take the guy out to town square after his conviction, tie his limbs to 4 vehicles and televise him being ripped apart. Bet that would be fresh on the mind of anyone else thinking about doing something stupid for notoriety
  23. There's no animosity towards him in my post, sorry if it came off that way. I was actually mocking the guy making the video because that Bill Murphy guy has his grubby little hands in a bunch of ventures in the metal market. He's a hypocrite talking about how the markets are being manipulated, but then tells everyone to go buy silver while advertising dealers/distributors on his own website.
