  1. Just a heads up, if you're in the Nashville area, Stewart Huff will be @ Zanies 8,9 and then opening for Rob Schneider 10th-12th. If you do comedy clubs, this guy is pretty good. First time we seen him in Knoxville he had us crying, would honestly say that his material is on par with the technical ability of George Carlin. It's not political like Carlin's, but funny as heck nonetheless. Just a friendly FYI if you're looking to get out this week.

  2. You should back up your own data, instead of having it somewhere in the cloud, where someone else could get to it.

You would rather have your data stored/backed up on a device behind a $100 firewall than in a secure data center with competent operators and millions of dollars worth of security appliances and measures? The "cloud" is nothing more than a good marketing strategy because people like to use buzzwords for processes and technology that already exist, in an attempt to gain more marketshare from, for lack of a better term, "normal" computer users.

The levels of protection provided by these companies is at an astronomical level when compared to having some data encrypted on a storage device of a home network.

  3. Don't complain too much, I almost didn't make it to 33 last year. Have decided anything from her eon out is borrowed time so I'm gonna enjoy the #### out of it, even if I am hobbling around on a cane now!

Happy B-day and hope you have 100 more lol

  4. Ive been considering an online backup, guess this decided for me NOT to use Carbonite!

check out http://www.crashplan.com we have used them for a couple years now, they have unlimited space and never delete your previous versions. One plan can do three computers and works between mac's and pc's.

<edit> just a shameless plug for them. The application works pretty well on the local system, we've got ours set to check for changes every 60 seconds. The wife had accidentally deleted a bunch of recordings from law school and we were able to restore them all about a month later when she realized it (it only took about 5 minutes to get all of them back). It is pretty similar to the other backup services, their web panel looks like this:

    ScreenShot2012-08-04at82905PM.png

just click the date that you know the file is the correct version that you want to restore, click a check box and it creates a zip file for you to download. Pretty straightforward

  5. But who is going to be delivering that kind of device to do that? Some other government or our own?

It's a possibility that someone will use an EMP device, but consider the logistics that is required for it to

be effective on that large of a scale, and then consider who has that capability before you decide which

    direction to run for cover.

Plenty of people have the capability, that's why I have always been a supporter of missile shields. I think we should drop ten billion dollars tomorrow on the technology without even thinking twice.

  6. We need to get those military grade sound projectors that make people crap themselves like they use in Isreal. Hit 50-100 thieves and thugs with that and watch how fast the word gets out

  7. I think the majority of sellers ask reasonable amounts, and almost everyone is always willing to negotiate a little bit... as the OP said, the lowballing stuff has just got out of hand recently. It's for one of two reasons... they theink the seller is desperate, or the lowballer has absolutely no idea what they're trying to buy.

Availability on the internet has encouraged people to get involved in stuff they would've never considered before. All the groups (gun owners, racers, hunters etc.) Are pretty tight knit groups, now that the internet has come along, everyone thinks target shooting at an indoor range makes them a hunter, playing military video games makes them a veteran and watching fast and furious makes them a race car driver.... so you suffer from a lot of intereference that never existed before.

  8. And there are also those that think their used firearm should resell at the full market price of the brand new item.

So you're suggesting that if someone adds $500 worth of Chinese/eBay accessories, it would not raise the value of the weapon $500? You clearly have not read rule #17 of the mall ninja handbook

  9. People trying to take advantage of others in need of money. Since eBay/CL and other online auction sites have come around, I think a lot of morons believe that they're going to get rich off of other morons on the internet. There have been times when people were persistant asses about lowballing even though the price said firm, that was reaffirmed and they kept on... So I play along for about a week making them think they'll get the deal and just cut all communication.

Hell, just two days ago on CL I have a new Nintendo DSi listed for $75 which is reasonable.. person emails and asks if I'll take $50, said no price is fair and firm. they messaged back and said they needed it because it was their son's birthday and he was already excited about getting it and said I should take $60... I messaged back and told her it would be a good lesson in business accumen for him to learn and I wish him a happy b-day.

  10. <puts on mall ninja costume>

Nah man, it was definitely the humidity or the disrupted airflow from the brass laying in the floor. Could be that the factory pressed the bullets when the casing was being twisted to the left or maybe even the target being pinned up a little bit too far to the right

The problem is that I put that fat grip adapter thing on the back thinking that since I have big hands it would be the best setup, turns out I was wrong... Going to just remove it and see how it feels. After shooting it I'm not even sure the medium adapter would be a good fit; should've shot it first before installing it.

  11. Took her out to the range today and am pretty happy with it. It's the first time shooting this caliber , it had more muzzle flip than expected but you could do follow up shots without much effort. This was the first magazine and @ 15 yards (think that's as far as their range goes). Group was 8-9".. Even with the cheap target ammo this thing hits exactly where you point it. Also ran a few powrball's through it and there was zero difference between them and the 124's.

Might try some 147's next time and see if that reduces the flip any.
