In really good shape, they had a lot of the areas sectioned off with cleaning crews while we were there and they're in the process of doing a full plane restoration on a new jet on the main floor.

We just got back in from a weekend down in Texas, unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the Alamo but we were able to check out the USS Lexington on the gulf and then around the state capitol buildings and the Texas tower. WIll post pics later of the boat, that thing was amazing, it took us half a day just to walk around to the parts that were open to the public.. Wife doesn't even like military history but about 30 minutes in I was chasing her down for the rest of the day. Also learned some cool stuff about Austin, that city is designed to be the capitol of a nation just like D.C. is. Their senators are part-time and only get $7k/year, every meeting/session they hold is public and the coolest thing was hearing the guy describe the battle of San Jacinto. I guess the Texans attacked the Mexican army and either killed or captured about 2000 soldiers there in approximately 18 minutes. Texans only suffered around 40 casualties total. Anyways, pretty cool stuff, if any of you all make it down to the gulf, the aircraft carrier is definitely something to see. Oh and you may be angry too when you are sitting between multiple large refineries and the cheapest gas around is still $3.75

Been through that before, but it was in China. Coming back from the Philippines with a horrible case of food poisoning a few days prior so I was still dehydrated. Bought some water after going through checkpoint #1, had to go through another checkpoint at the terminal and they made me toss all 3 bottles. Got into the terminal and bought 2 more bottles, then they had a full hand search of everything on the dang walkway before boarding and they made me throw both of them away again. Was pretty pissed off, but being in China and all, it didn't seem like the place to voice my opinion

Think it's crazy.. those of us who were in and have been out for a while can tell you that there are so many people/organizations that take advantage of soldiers fresh in or fresh out because most of them do not have experience dealing with either situation. They may be worth $1000, but ask them to provide you with their data showing how many people they have got employed, at what salaries and if they were in the field being sought. Any reputable headhunter will have all of that info. But it all really depends on his education/MOS in what he can land... I found out that the $30/hour jobs coming out of the Army like we all thought we were getting are far and few between unless you have a very specific set of skills being looked for. Wort case scenario is he can get on unemployment and go to school full-time while receiving the GI Bill. That'll hold him over for at least a year during the transition

Bet that guy won't be doing that anymore!

It happens from time to time

No offense was meant on it, but these services don't just fail... 99.9% of computer problems are a result from human interaction of some sort. We used to call it the PEBKAC error (problem exists between keyboard and chair) but not sure if there is any new lingo for it. Following that up with, I'm guilty of screwing stuff up just like the next guy

Tools are only as smart as the person using them

Before you decide, try out http://crashplan.com they have a 30 day free trial, unlimited online storage and their application will allow you to back up your files to other computers so you maintain control of the data (this option is 100% free). You can set up your work computers to back up to your home computers and vice versa so you have an off-site backup and still maintain full control of the data. IMHO, most of the big boys of online backup service roughly provide the same level of encryption and security (either 448 or 512 bit encryption). As with any device that is connected to the internet, there is always a risk but that even occurs with your home use systems. We have used the online crashplan for a couple of years now and switched out computers to new computers twice and reimaged once, (it is extremely easy to transfer the old data to the new system) and we've had complete satisfaction with the service. Crashplan allows you to throttle bandwidth while you're using the computer, sends email reports, is priced right with the other good service providers, they never delete any versions of your files and have unlimited storage space... Just can't beat them. The few things I would say to make sure of; stick with a well-known company like Mozy, Acronis, CommVault, Carbonite, Crashplan etc.. All of these provide encrypted storage and encrypted communications when the files are being transferred.

Pretty much impossible to say without having a picture to ID it with. What color was it and did it have a pattern or lines?

That was some great info, thanks

Love that guy's videos, he's pretty entertaining

+1 for that site, I've shipped a couple of motorcycle engines and had good experiences each time.

+1, this thing about risking the country's wellbeing because of a principle of a few people is retarded. Basically what is happening is a group of few is convinced their ideals are the only thing that is correct and proper in this world, and while they say that it is all about freedom of choice and belief, if you do not align with their ideas, then you are wrong and you should be ashamed of having an opinion.

You might be a redneck if on first glance "aroma cafe" appeared to be the "armory cafe" <going back to my safe room now>

Probably just for targeted marketing, but you really never know once the data leaves your hands that's why i dont mess with those things. Besides most anthropologists agree that human genos originated in Africa, so technically you would be African-American as the description is "one who has origins from Africa". So if you didn't check that box, you filled it out incorrectly anyways

I actually do invest in metals, mainly silver because gold is just too expensive to deal with. Even with my personel vested interest, these videos pushing the sale of metals remain mind-numbingly dumb, on the level of a dollar store palm reader. At some point just from a pure statistical viewpoint, something they have "predicted" will happen and then they will ask everyone to forget the 27 years of fake panic they have created and do the see I told you so story. This is exactly like Goodyear buying up TV time to tell you that the rubber supplies around the world have been contaminated and you should stock up on tires before that new compound reaches the market... And also that you should pay no attention that they are the ones selling the tires.

A list of his voting is completely irrelevant because he touts he has never "voted" for an earmark, but has submitted nearly half a billion dollars of them. He doesn't want his drones to spend 5 minutes doing research to see how many hundreds of millions of dollars he has sent back to Texas with his left hand while yelling out to everyone to just keep looking at the bird in his right hand All the data on everything is listed on dozens if not hundreds of congressional watch websites. The ONLY difference between him and the others is that he votes NO, after he submits the earmarks. I personally used to like the guy until reading a bit about him instead of just listening to him speak.

Well heck we seen each other then, I was about 4 rows back directly behind him. @Erik88, they said it is coming out on DVD in Oct right before the election
