  1. lol I just watched part of the video... He starts into "stock triggers are fine" ... "However, I highly modified this PTR to fit my shooting needs, and all of those modifications helped out the trigger pull tremendously" Good grief
  2. mil-spec means nothing. a good quality trigger makes a world of difference. It's not just about pull weight, it's about travel and break as well. If you train enough with a musket, you will become proficient at it. Doesn't mean I want to be a highly trained musketeer instead of a novice rifleman with access to better technology.
  3. Wish I could laugh, think I royally screwed myself seeking this 1gig thing. My internet runs slower than before, my bill is all jacked up now and they are trying to charge me for an install they told me was free (making them pull the recording on that one), the installer thought my computer was a router and that the monitors just magically worked without being hooked up to anything. The next person tells me I can't have cable TV and internet, and half a dozen other "technicians" tell me that everything is perfect on their side, it's all of my equipment that is messed up, even though the same equipment was running faster prior to the install. They're coming back out again on Friday to look at it, if they can't fix it on that day, I'm just going to make them take back the stuff, get out of the contract (since they can't provide the service) and go back to the $110/month by month plan.
  4. Nah, it's just a big corporation that likes to tell people different stuff because no one actually knows what the policies are.
  5. Damn where do you get one of those reloading machines that starts at 1:30 ? People will pay big $$$ for that stuff.
  6. lol.. now comcast is saying that you are not allowed to have gigabit service and cable tv on the same account because you will not get the advertised speeds. Will keep updating here for the good laughs.
  7. It's not the old man tool store, it's the "I know I don't need one of those, but it's so cheap" store. And the only place on the planet where you will spend $100 to save $5.
  8. No flu for probably 10 years. I get the flu vaccine annually. Worked in a hospital now for almost 2 years, so I am constantly around sick people like prag.
  9. That's their way to introduce doubt that it is your system and not their service when you don't get the advertised speeds. They tried to blame all three of my computers too, because the tech doesn't know any different. However, all of my computers have the fastest SSDs you can put in them, quad core i7's (one is a quad core mobile cpu) with 16gb of ddr3 ram, even had OSX, windows 10 and windows 7. The specs of the computers have less to do with bandwidth than they want people to believe. The tech here was so ignorant about computers, he argued that my Mac Mini was an Apple Airport router and not a computer.
  10. I'm not running anything, if they can't get the service to my house they sold me, then poof contract is gone and I'll go back to my old plan.
  11. Yeah, I'm assuming it's either that or something on the infrastructure side beyond the pole. The problem is, all of our cabling is underground (and under a driveway) and the guy a couple days ago wasn't even entertaining the consideration for running a new line. Could be a trap somewhere along the lines as well, but the original installer was having nothing to do with anything other than hooking up a modem and leaving.
  12. Mine is still jacked up two ways from sunday. they have techs out there now trying to track down the problem. As a comparison, I was running about a 10ms ping and 280-300mb with the same upload, before the "upgrade"
  13. http://www.wkyt.com/content/news/47-point-buck-killed-in-Tennessee-to-be-certified-a-world-record-410539395.html Congrats to that guy!
  14. pretty much why everyone likes Glock, they have the best marketing department of any gun manufacturer.
  15. I found out that you can buy your own modem, it just has to support docsis 3.1. Going to let them get the issues ironed out before I buy one though.
  16. After a couple of hours of brain racking, the tech couldn't get anything set up properly. He had a bandwidth tester that I am assuming ran on a different layer, that showed 940/40 bandwidth but none of my devices would do more than what I was running this morning before the install of the new gear lol. 3 different computers, 3 different operating systems, different cables, wifi on the old router, the new router or even connected directly to the modem. I told him we could wait a day or two and see if it's just an infrastructure issue on their side and will call in a ticket if it's the same. They do give you a netgear nighthawk x6, but, that is the worst router I have used in probably 15 years of working with computers. It literally takes 20-30 seconds for the router to change pages on the control panel. It's definitely not going to be used. Am curious if I actually get to keep this thing cause I can pawn it off on the interwebs and buy something that runs faster than an atari 2600.
  17. Yeah, now if they would only run it 30 miles west of Nashville, I'd be gravy!
  18. yeah, completely caught me off-guard for the type of video I was expecting.
  19. You should probably listen to what he says before making that assumption.
  20. Just ran across this video (from September so not sure if it has been shared here or not). Thought it was appropriate after seeing the HPA pop up in the news today.
  21. I'd rather have a 10mb fiber connection over a 1 gig baseband service since at least 75% of my use is researching academic journal databases, effectively web surfing at 105mph...every single day. But that's out of the question in my area.
  22. Sign me up, can we use a Jonsered on the dowel pin?
  23. It's not about need, it's about want. You can't drive a corvette full throttle everywhere, but they're still more awesome than a hyundai accent.
  24. I just consider it a waste of money to rent anything.
  25. ^ this It was hard to spend $175 on a new zip gun, was easy to drop a few grand on an MP5. Good things about guns is that decent ones will never lose a penny in value.
