  1. Will wait before commenting on this one, I'm 0 for 3 in analyzing recent news stories
  2. Stopped by today and the place looked pretty good inside, it's a nice layout. One of the employees came and asked if he could help with anything and I told him I was just checking out the place. Even though he knew I wasn't buying he still came back a few minutes later to check on me. If they treat everyone like that, they'll definitely be getting all of my local business. 3. I used to use Linksys only but when they merged with Cisco and started cutting costs, they lost the quality that used to be. But from a technical perspective, most of the home use routers are similar... we have a Netgear N900 now and it has all the usual settings with guest networks on both bands. Signal is good, it covers a 1300ft apt. And about 50ft to our garage. With general use, you'll get into a Ford/Chevy debate on which brand is better. So it just depends on what you can find at a good price Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Any criminal investigators that do more than work out of an office should carry, hell in eastern KY I think census workers should carry after that stuff they pulled a couple of years ago in Red Bird.
  5. if you've got your system rooted Open Garden Wifi Tethering is the best one I've seen, it's a free one but has to be rooted. ALso there are some fake ones, and it works so well that Google took it off the Play store unless you link directly to it cause no one was buying the paid ones due to this lol
  6. We're only 2 years into our marriage and have done that a couple of times as well. Neither one of us knew exactly how to handle it so we both ended up with new cars, if anyone has advice on the best way to address those situations please share because it may get pretty expensive if we both end up with new cars every time one is bought lol
  7. Yeah we switched over to live plants and have growing lights on them as well, the problem was that those lights help anything grow including algae so it exploded a few days after installing them. Guy at the fish store said a uv sterilizer would work and it took a few days but it's almost clear again. Once it gets completed I'll get some pics. We've got some jar jar binks fish, Vanderbilt fish, couple of guppies, snails, cories, and my favorite are some catfish looking things that are black and grey spotted and the swim in any direction, usually they hang out under a rock upside down though. Not sure what they were called
  8. As some of the other said it really depends on how you plan on using it. Iphones work well for basic function and are pretty reliable. If you want almost unlimited functions and options for custom software then a droid of some type is the way to go. iPhone hardware is outdated, but it is almost bulletproof. There is no removable storage and no removable battery so if you want to add a lot of stuff or if your battery runs out, you're in a bad spot. Droid's have removable batteries, most of them have larger screens (some still have full qwerty slide out keyboards), removable storage and a lot of companies have firmware upgrades to specifically fit your needs. - bad thing about those bigger screens is that they suck up the battery, but you can carry a spare if there's enormous amounts of use. We bought the Samsung Epic 4g's back in 2010 and after dropping it about 453 times it finally broke a few weeks ago so I bought a used Samsung Galaxy SII for $150 on eBay, and this thing has nearly identical specs as the new $500 iPhone 5 (and the darn thing is a year old). <edit> I also use an iPhone 4 for work, and for that limited function, it works great but we have enterprise restrictions on it that allow no other functions than basic things. and finally, a lot of the droid's have a full satellite GPS on them so if you lose connectivity in the woods, you can still find your way out. from what I understand iPhones have a gps-r or assisted gps that require having a connection to a radio tower to transfer the data or gps doesn't work (that's why I switch from a 3gs to a droid in '10. Got lost for like 30 minutes when we first moved to TN thanks to that damn thing
  9. Now If I understand the Hatch Act, that also applies to local/state workers in agencies that receive federal funding. If that's the case, this seems to be a good way to end your own career because he was using his position to make political influence.
  10. Pretty sleazy video trying to say Romney doesn't care about this guy's health when he's 55 or 60 years old. He's right, it's not Romney's job to take care of him... I guess I should be angry at politicians now because they don't care if I will be rich or not when I'm 55 or 60. The stupidity behind some of these ads is mind boggling.
  11. lol this is like watching a digital pugil stick battle
  12. We've got a small 30 gallon community tank, been going through a lot of issues with it though with algae.. Finally broke down and bought a sterilizer and it's getting it cleaned out again. 24watt uv bulb in a small tank like that really does the job lol
  13. For some strange reason they don't like to blame the people for making bad decisions, they prefer to blame the alcohol itself. That part I've never figured out either
  14. Bottles of liquor, they serve a dual purpose... for trading or taking away the worry for a little while. other than that, it's just the usual stuff Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
  15. 1st ep. was pretty good, I think Caire Daines needs to turn her character down a couple of notches, but overall it was good
  16. We use the TLR-1s', they were pretty close to the x300 in lumens and more in my budget range. The strobe function would also blind anything on the receiving end, it's pretty harsh.
  17. A bit more info: http://www.examiner.com/article/witnessess-tell-what-they-saw-when-woman-was-fatally-shot-by-border-patrol-agent Husband said in an interview Something fishy about the way he said that, he probably got the vocabulary from a lawyer.
  18. Yeah that made it evident he was in on it, but the storyline was still good enough to keep you guessing on what was actually happening. I would say the writers aren't at the Breaking Bad level, but they're pretty darn close.
  19. Like Dave Ramsey says to people that come into a lot of money... Don't invest in anything you don't understand, make your people explain it to you and if you still don't understand teach yourself about it and don't invest a penny until you have a full understanding. Also says that you don't owe anybody anything, don't let someone guilt you into sharing a penny of your money.
  20. Have you considered using a light on it instead of a laser? If it's a home only weapon that would be my preference.
  21. It's because of the churches and the reduced mental capacity of many people from small towns. Everyone goes to church there and the preacher tells people that alcohol is the cause of rapes, murders, kidnappings, looting etc... and everyone in the congregation should not allow it to be voted on and passed. ( I sat through many of those services growing up). Having a large amount of tourism coming in for the lake, it made sense to sell booze. But they wouldn't so people just brought their own and the locals drove 60 miles up the road and bought it. The county was loosing tens of millions of dollars annually in lost revenue because of it. When the few places went moist, just in the small towns near the lake, it brought in multiple new businesses and brought in enough income to buy a new city hall, new cops cars, extra cops, upgraded the entire city's water and sewer system etc.. After the other cities seen that the entire place wasn't going to burn down and kids weren't getting molested like the preacher said would happen, they finally got on board and sold so much beer on the first day at one store that they emptied out two entire semi-trailers in 4 hours (this was two weeks ago). They were going broke because the lake is down about 50 feet or so because of the dam rebuild happening, and no one wants to come anymore. Hopefully this will bring enough of an infusion of cash to keep the place running so they don't have to raise taxes on everyone.
  22. Will be, it's a great show. I've been stuck watching Strikeback when TrueBlood went off and while I do love to watch the good guys massacre terrorists, it's pretty cheesy. Homeland has some great writers and actors.
  23. sounds justified to me, he was stuck on the hood for several hundred yards. All she had to do as press the brake pedal
  24. I thought about putting a laser on a couple of times now but backed out of it... They may be great for certain uses but when you're in a cqb shtf situation, how hard is it to track down a little red dot across the room? Heck you're good just to be able to see the front sight on your pistol when the adrenaline is pumping and stuff is going on.
  25. Legal or not, they did it for the 17 years I lived there. It was Pulaski County, KY if you wanted to look up the specifics on it. We lived by Lake Cumberland where the majority of visitors were from Ohio (we called them the Ohio Navy cause there was so dang many of them) and they would bring their own alcohol for their vacation homes/rentals. I couldn't tell you how many times we seen people getting ticketed/arrested for possessing at their property.
