1.
You mean the folks that have never been to a hurricane? It's hard to get a good feel by watching TV.
Nope, I meant the small groups of people start acting out on their own because they think the world is ending due to what they see around them.
2.
Come on guys…It’s a show about Seal Team Six…. Who would want to miss that? NatGeo… Politics?? No way...This is history.
I'll watch it too at a later date, but I'm not supporting it because it is being strategically used as a political tool by showing it tonight. Personal opinion, but our house will not be contributing to the ratings that will be blasted out tomorrow on the news networks. Hopefully the ratings/numbers is just piss-poor so NatGeo considers not making any more political maneuvers to gain a few extra viewers.
3. And here come the renegades
4. They got the important words correct
5. Always love to see the warning signs, post up what you've found so far, here's a couple
6. I will not be watching it tonight - doing it because I think NatGeo needs to stay out of the political arena. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
7. The molecular structure of the oils is different no friction modifiers as well. And not only considering that, bike oils handle severe heat cycles better because they are much worse than vehicle cycles (car oils for racing are much more expensive). With that said, just because a lubricant seems to work by looking at it, doesn't mean it is functioning properly. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
8. Whew that's scary accurate
9.
This is a great idea! I would love to attend. Can I record it for my personal use and share with the presenter and whoever he designates (thinking TGO)? Range time has been suggested, may I add attendees chip-in a couple bucks to cover cost of a lane and a box or two of ammo for our generous presenter (or at least buy him a bottle of water). May be possible to reserve party room at Shoney's or Golden Corral.
Think there would be a lot of noise in those places, if it is in an office somewhere maybe we can just do a potluck cause home-made food is always better anyways
10. That's great to hear. Am curious though if there's any medical people on board, what is the determining factor on if hardware is used or not. Seems like as bad as his was, it would've needed some type of support. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
11. They are offering 3g versions of the new one, but I'll only be connecting once every few weeks to download a new book so the extra expense would not be justified, it's only $50, but that's a couple boxes of ammo lol Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
12. The power company didn't turn them away, but the IBEW union denied them the opportunity to work: http://dailycaller.com/2012/11/02/ala-utility-florida-crewman-blame-electrical-union-for-interfering-with-hurricane-sandy-relief-video/
“It turns out there was a 300-page contract that the union controlling LIPA [the Long Island Power Authority] wanted everybody to sign first. We don’t have time for that. We’ve got guys ready to go. You need lawyers for this.”... “We were like, ‘We’re not complaining about money. You can pay us less. We don’t care. Just let us go up there. Two days later, we’re still sitting here.”
13. Beck said a bit ago, it looks like the Red Cross has only raised $11 million total for this, and Mercury 1 has raised over $1million just today. I think that statement where the Red Cross came out and said you should only send them cash has really screwed them over. How are you going to be an entity that exists solely from the donations of the people, then tell them that you don't want anything except their money? Also seen that the insurance companies are trying to hurry up and get FEMA in there to hand out money so they can reduce the amount of the claim against their policy. Cause that's what we need at the moment; just like when Katrina hit, we need to give everyone there a $5000 credit card while they have no electricity so they can run out and get boob jobs and new TV's.
14. It really didn't, obviously it ached a wee bit, but figured it was just part of the plates. Am guessing that's what they'll be putting in your son's arm? The biggest issue he'll have is that he'll want to use it as soon as it's patched up just make sure he doesn't overdo it and he'll be at or near 100% before he knows it.
15.
I broken one arm once and the other twice....hurt like hell when I did it. He has surgery at 2pm today. They call it surgery, but I believe they will sedate him and set the bones, most likely without actually cutting them. The surgeon is a nice guy. He also was a surgeon for the Air Force in Afghanistan.
Hope everything works out well! As for it hurting, that is surprising. Last year after my wreck, I went a full month before knowing one of those bones was completed severed (literally broken in two like your son's). This is the xray, they had done the previous plates end of May, and I went around like this until the beginning of July before finding this (was a result of them doing xrays from the wrong angle and overlooking it) Your son will be fine, the technology and people behind that we have now to patch people together is simply astonishing.
16. In the words of someone that just called into a talk radio show "I'm done with the whole lot of them, they don't want the help we're sending and want to have a marathon using up resources while people have no food or water next door." I agree they should let them follow through with their decisions and pull out all the external assistance until they unf*** themselves.
17. The wife and I would definitely attend Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
18. Weird thing is, when those specific bones break, it hardly hurts at all Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
19. gun procurers shouldn't be called hoarders, they should be called smart
20. Thanks for the clarification, it's sad I'm working on a masters degree in the IT field and never once picked up an e-reader... Guess it's cause we always have tablets or laptops around. Nicky, the paperwhite has a much better resolution and think the advertisement said the battery life was nearly 30 hours of continuous use. This specific device needed to be small enough to toss in my pocket, and display books.. Didn't want it to do anything else. If I kept the ipad with me and used an ereader app, I would do more web surfing than reading. Plus it was only $100, if it gets crushed, dropped, scratched or shot it won't hurt the wallet as much.
21. Just changed schools as a last minute situation this week and start new classes on Monday... This time around I want to move away form physical books to an e-reader because it will be easier to carry everywhere. We decided on one of the new Kindle Paperwhite readers this afternoon, but they are on a delayed shipment for around a week. The question I have is, if for example the e-textbook is purchased from Amazon, will I be able to access it on a computer, then when the Kindle gets in, download it again or transfer it to the e-reader? Am not sure how the DRM works on ebooks, e-readers and Amazon (or any provider for that matter). Hopefully it will let you transfer it between systems, even if only one can access it at a time, that's no big deal. I just don't want to get into a situations where it requires multiple purchases of the same $150 book. Any info is greatly appreciated
22. Right now it's about them sucking up to get federal funds, NY and NJ both are willing to throw themselves under the bus because they know there is no possible way they can get out of this mess on their own. Initial estimates said that storm was going to cost 10-20 billion, it would surprise me if it was less than 500 billion after all is said and done. On a side note, Al Gore is already spewing that global warming caused this storm
23. Congrats! You made it to an exclusive group
24. Not necessarily, you can get it sprayed with sealant, it's sort of like rhino-lining except not as thick. Supposed to seal it up for 20 years iirc. I believe it was being used for large underground fuel tanks in storage near the coasts. The only concern I would have is that this would sweat pretty bad without good insulation in weather extremes. It may not though, just not sure.
25. Yep, if you watch that video above he starts with a story about a guy getting busted with a truckload of cocaine and says "I believe people should be able to put whatever they want in their bodies but I took an oath to uphold the law and the says he cant". He is completely fair and objective even in his opinions on Fox, never seems to let his own personal feelings or ideas influence the issue at hand.
