Another ND, Hopkinsville Ky gun show
Sam1 replied to billyscott's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"According to investigators, one of the men had purchased a 9mm Highpoint and had attempted to load it when the weapon discharged for some reason" Two things, it fired cause something pulled the trigger and WTH were they doing loading a firearm up at a gun show? -
Is there no end to this crazy crap ?

That's exactly what I would do -
Mall shooter confronted by armed citizen

Good for him! And thank god someone was there Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 -
Need to stock up on this before we start looking into reloading, georgia arms has 1000 rounds for $590, it's a good price, but some of you all are pretty resourceful and wanted to see if you knew of any better deals around.

Thanks for those, we're gonna have to do some research because my current education level on rifle optics is almost non-existant.

The wife and I will be there (not sure if we were already counted or not) -
This is the best analysis I've read on the situation so far, made by Morgan Freeman of all people: CNN’s article says that if the body count “holds upâ€, this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer’s face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer’s identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don’t sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next. You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."

Went ahead and picked this baby up along with another toy today. Now the hard part is figuring out what optics to put on :)

OK I get what you're saying, I misunderstood your post and thought it was insinuating that the child would act out upon the media and not that the child may be impacted just not act out. My bad!

Plenty of statistics out there, if you give me the afternoon I'll get the numbers from some academic journals instead of the web. Personally, after living in Korea for 3 years, I believe that their crime rate is lower because of their social activity. They have more violent media and are less religious than we are, yet in most of the big cities you will see 5 and 6 year old kids walking on the subways by themselves at night because there is no fear of something happening like here. This is one of those topics that is impossible to prove one way or another through empirical data because the variables are immeasurable. The only thing that can be done is comparing statistics.

They have ZERO effect on them. In Japan the games are so violent for children that they would be lucky to even be release in the USA with a mature rating. They also have a fraction of the issues we have.

They already said that exact statement this morning on TV, didn't specify what games, but did say he was an avid gamer

Yeah, she was upset for a bit cause I told her I couldn't walk all over the mall while she shopped and needed to sit down. About 20 minutes later she looked for me and I was on the opposite side of the mall. After explaining what happened she forgave me

Just trying to lighten it up a bit

I wouldn't stress too much about those petitions, they just had a petition for the white house to build a death star by 2016 and have well over 25,000 signatures. There's all kinds of crazy stuff on there since people found out about it

That fits in perfectly with that other thread of "I can't believe we made it" lol

The method in which people choose to create violence is irrelevant. In Africa they beat people with sticks and rocks until they can't fight back, put a car tire around their necks and set it on fire while they are still alive. I also highly doubt they are on the types of medication that exist here. Point is, there are evil people in the world, and I couldn't even imagine what it feels like to be a parent in this type of situation, but I would not be blaming anyone or anything except the individuals that assisted in or acted in the violence.

So the wife and I went to Cool Springs mall to do some Christmas shopping (actually she did and just took me along), I was planted our in the foyer when some wannabe thugs/punks were walking around the top throwing change at people down below (terrible aim too, they missed everyone). I spotted one before he disappeared into the crowd, and performed handicapped ninja moves to get up the escalator and track them down. They had went over to another section above the Apple store, getting ready to start throwing things again so I put on my old crazy guy face, pulled out a dollar bill and sat next to them on the bench rubbing against them (mind you there was plenty of empty space and other places to sit, I just wanted to make them uncomfortable). Looked at one of them and asked if they had change for a dollar, scooted a little closer and asked louder. One of them got puffy and another guy said no, and I said "that's a shame, cause I can't afford to throw dollars over the balcony, I prefer to use nickels instead" All three of them took off & me being the ass that I am, I spent another 10 minutes following them staring, and making sure they seen me. They went over to the food court and I disappeared for a few minutes, went around the back way, snuck up behind them and sat down at the table and asked "You got change for a dollar?" It creeped them out so bad they left their drinks on the table and bolted for the door Should've probably just called security on them, but it wouldn't have been as fun

What are these like? Was considering an ArmaLite, but one of the guy's over at NA said the build quality was fairly close, and definitely worth the cost savings if I wasn't too worried about the brand. Or if you all have any other suggestions to look at, I do not want a bunch of hokey pokey mall ninja stuff on it, and do not want to piece one together (it may cost more but I don't feel like fiddling with it). All we're looking for is a good solid general purpose one

@ Dave I don't think it's disrespectful at all, there is no doubt in my mind that any respectable gun owner would've thrust himself right in the middle, putting himself at risk to intervene in a situation like that. Hell, I wish everywhere I went there were at least 10 people open carrying, because more times than not, the good guys would out number the loons.

Holy jesus! They really need to bring back public executions in situations like this. Plenty of people would stand in line and volunteer to yank the handle on the platform on bastards like these.

MPD Officer killed - Mayor instantly attacked 2A
Sam1 replied to S&WForty's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Terrible situation As far as the mayor is concerned, he can kiss my ass for using this as a political platform.
