  1. We're working with someone now and are waiting on an estimate to come back comparing the PV vs. water system.  The company was saying that PV's will pay back pretty quickly, but the more he talked about a water system, the more desirable it got. The new solar water systems can heat water to 160 degrees easily, and for safety, it only heats the water in the tank to 120, so there is a lot of excess.   He said they can install a coil in the HVAC unit so we can pull excess off there in the the central unit, they can do the normal fin radiators, or floor heating. The one that takes the cake though, is he has installed "heated towel racks" that are plumbed into the system. Obviously these are not for us because we want some functionality, caring about the difference between a warm towel and a room temperature towel should be left to spas and lottery winners... But it does look legit, and they even manufacture "heated shower curtain rods" lol   http://www.mysoncomfort.com/TowelWarmers/European   http://www.mysoncomfort.com/TowelWarmers/ShowerRails   ^ for if you ever have extra money and have bought everything else known to man
  2. Jimic had it right, oak is the best firewood around. You can buck it yourself, or find someone in the paper/craigslist selling firewood and give them the tree, they'll come and clean it up for you.   Don't worry about your chainsaw being too small, we would use 16" bars to fell 40" trees
  3. Don't stores just buy to resale? Or is it ok for them to do it since they are a business, and not ok for a person to? Guess that would be similar to someone not liking the fact that people can sell things on eBay; when instead everyone should have to buy their stuff from WalMart.   The entire logic behind getting upset/frustrated/angry with a situation like this is about as weak as it could be.
  4. The Five said it best today, if the teacher wanted terrorists to be called "freedom fighters" and to show everyone how the muslim culture or "world beliefs" were, then why did they not talk about how if you are found to be gay in most of those cultures, you are beaten or murdered courtesy of state sanctioned laws?   If they're going to teach about it, it needs to be about the entire aspect of their culture not just selective bits and pieces.
  5.   We just picked up 20 bricks of .22 for about $350, not that we need it, but it was a good price and I don't care if Leroy or Larry get a chance to have a couple of extra bullets cause I wanted them and found them first.   The only problem that occurred is that I bought them before someone else did and now they are running around mad for no reason.
  6. If you like seafood, Chesapeake's is awesome. They've got a decent bar too
  7. Youtube freedom fighters! Just as dumb as the people they are recording
  8. What's up with the apple in the bottom corner? lol
  9.   Yeah, they have been at war for a thousand years and understand it's just part of life. They have reservations, but not very many.
  10. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=052_1361710576   Thug throwing Molotov cocktails at riot police, one of the cops shoots it right out of his hand with a gas canister
  11. The only thing causing them to be high right now is the backorder. I'd be selling them ASAP before the price drops
  12. +1 TMF
  13. Someone needs to get that law over to them. Wouldn't that mean the cop is involved in committing a crime as well?
  14. I think the story will get them enough bad advertising that they will rethink their business and wish they never tried to get that $5. Hopefully it costs them $10,000 in business   As for the cop, hopefully there's an investigation on him and he is held accountable. If there was no police report filed, then he has nothing to investigate. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought there needs to be some type of report before they know what to investigate. Sounds like it's a case of "I messed up, now backtracking to CYA"
  15. With the new house coming soon we were just shopping around and comparing policies to our current State Farm ones. Stopped by Liberty Mutual today and they ran some numbers; ended up being a substantial amount lower for quadruple the coverage amounts that we currently pay for on auto and was lower overall on the house for the same coverage.   Has anyone had good/bad experiences with them?
  16. works fine on this end
  17. nice stuff
  18. And this is why David made a smart move by blocking the sales of that military equipment in the classifieds.
  19. I didn't know there even was a Glock factory there lol
  20. interesting document, and I would hope the people in charge of the drone programs have fixed the issue of a $10mil drone being able to be taken out by a $2500 piece of old russian equipment.
  21.   Obviously you sue the whistle manufacturer.
  22. Here's another, in Texas:   Elderly Man's home has been broken in to multiple times; Thugs comes in through the window and meets a bullet. Dies on scene, then the thug's family comes to the house saying the guy should not have used his gun without warning the thug first that he had one and was willing to use it. Maybe he just needed a rape whistle instead?   He also had an 18 page long criminal record w/ prison time.   http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Homeowner-Shoots-Kills-Man-Climbing-Through-Window-191753621.html
  23.   Or when they pee themselves laughing while the thug rapist lie on the ground screaming and asking them to stop shooting.
  24. I stand corrected then, made a generalization based on the employer
  25. Due to the source of this inquiry, I am expecting that the story headlines will read:   "TN background checks DO NOT WORK; 75% of applicants interviewed that were initially denied, were allowed to purchase a gun/get permit anyways"   It is not going to be a gun friendly article
