Found out today that they are building a USO (finally) in the Nashville airport. Kari Burgess is in charge of the Ft. Campbell and BNA USO and they were looking to raise $30k to finish the project by May. Well, we met up with some solar water installers tonight at the site and I'm cautiously optimistic for the figures tomorrow. He said that from the way the house is laid out, they can actually install a heating coil into the main hvac system pulling off the solar system, cheaper than they could plumb a radiator in.    Hopefully the energy estimates and cost turn out to be decent, cause if so, we'll definitely be going this route.

Coming from GOA, I'm going to trust their legislative team. The specific language in the bill is a bit different than my post leads on, my mistake on that part.   What this does is effectively create a localized federal law that is isolated to specific states. There is no possible way that will work, nor is it the intent behind the push. They're not adding those changes in there because it's best for us.   The way they will try to get this through is by arguing that this only reinforces and impacts residents of a states that have passed laws which is simply not what the goal is.

They may be on our side, but they have cried wolf so many times and profiteered from it that it wouldn't matter if an asteroid was actually 3 days from impacting earth and they knew it, no reasonable person would listen to a word they said.

  They exist; Rand Paul, Ted Cruz etc... The problem is that we on the receiving end refuse to do anything except complain to each other about how people need to get more active. It takes 2.3 milliseconds to send an email or start making calls to our reps form the local level all the way up to the top.   We motivate the people by starting ourselves. I know Dolo has been burning up the channels, I've started doing it as well to the point where as soon as something comes down the pipe multiple responses are sent within the day. One person doing it means nothing, everyone doing it will get our voices heard.

  They'll fix the mass exodus revenue losses by simply raising taxes. That will solve all of their issues!    Sort of like that area in California that tried to get everyone in an electric car, so their gas tax revenue dropped by over 60%, they double the gas tax and it's still bringing in 10% less revenue so now they are about to implement a consumption tax on all vehicles camouflaged as some "city improvement" fee

Most fraternization policies are issued at a branch level, so not sure.   They need to speak with JAG and get an answer, cause just as they give a commission, they can taketh away, and that may result in having to finish out the rest of her contract as enlisted (depending on their policies)

great move, I love this guy's videos. Not because of what he says, because a lot of people say the same things, but because he can reach groups that the usuals cannot, just like zap said.

We got one estimate back today, at $16.9k for a 4kw system; installed with micro-inverters. I found the exact kit with 3.75kw (just has 15 panels instead of 16)  for $7,700 - retail cost. So they're trying to charge $9000-$10000 for labor and hardware. A similar kit just different brand (same rating and wattage panels) was only $6600.   Mysteriously, the solar water heater system has jumped from about $6000 to $8500 as well; it's pretty blatant that the places are jacking up the prices and then saying "but you save 30% on a tax credit". It may be more believable if every page of the proposals and every conversation didn't start with reminding me about a tax credit.
