  1.   Didn't a couple of Knoxville biker cops get plowed into around Pellissippi & i-40 a year or two doing this on the side of the road?
  2. yep, the only thing that gets laser is a jammer, all a radar detector does is let you know you just got a ticket when it goes off.
  3. Tried poison peanuts, mouse traps right on top of their holes, the poison smoke bombs, clamp traps, nail/spike traps, the lawn treatment (just to push them back) and finally - hooking up a hose to the truck exhaust and plumbing it into the tunnels.  The funny thing about the peanuts is that they actually dug the holes back up and pushed them out of their tunnels back on top of the ground.   Darn things aren't even digging around our bushes or landscaping, it's just out in the open yard.  What worries me a bit is that if they do ever move up to the sides/front of the house, they will wreak havoc on the areas that we already spend a lot of time maintaining.
  4.   That is an absolutely fantastic point.
  5. Yeah and a lot of the radar detectors have gps now so it's not even a concern for the permanently mounted ones any longer, and the live networks that run through ones like an escort let people report them on the fly.
  6.     At this point the flattening the ground is all I'm worried about (some sections will beat you to death on the mower when the ground is hard).  Spoke with someone that does critter removal and he said the only real easy time to fend them off is at the end of winter to treat the grass with some stuff that turns the dirt bitter for them.  He said once they take hold in the spring time, it's near impossible to get rid of them outside of having some type of predator.   I wouldn't mind to have a cat but the wife doesn't like them, so plan is to roll the yard and start fresh this winter.  We've got so many fields here that if they hit any kind of deterrent, I think they would just go elsewhere cause we don't have a garden or anything that would draw them in.
  7. That stuff is very rare, and again I would say when you see the vascar lines painted on the road, just slow down for a second and your problem is solved if worried about it.   We have just as good of a chance to be clocked by a 27 year old nun from Brazil employed by Blackwater flying drones overhead, than we do from a high speed camera vascar system here in TN.
  8. Got a problem with voles, have literally tried everything except a machine gun and dynamite to "fix" the problem.  Anyways, part of the yard is getting to be pretty rough now and I think it's best just to start running over the yard with a roller.   Does anyone use these things?  If so are there any reasons to get a higher end one over the cheaper ones?  Also looking to get about a 48-50" one, is there a preferred weight to look at, cause they range anywhere from 400-1000 pounds at that size.
  9. Everything is ok, Messe Jackson has cleared this up, there is nothing similar between TM and this case - only the TM case was over race.   http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2013/08/22/Jesse-Jackson-Criticizes-Conservatives-For-Comparing-Trayvon-Martin-To-Chris-Lane   Also look at the headline on the news channel it says "GUNS ARE THE PROBLEM" on the screen, so it looks like they may be trying to kick back up the good old gun debate.
  10. BG hiding behind 12" of reinforce concrete?  No problem, just use the Ronco equalizer:   http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=af2_1377203611   No clue on what that is, looks like some kind of 20-25mm anti-tank gun.
  11. For the surveyor, I've heard a few guys at work talking about initial point before when working on some projects.  May want to see if they will come out to your part of town because these guys wouldn't call someone twice if there was even a bit of trouble with getting the work done.
  12. So the old guy was playing wingman for someone else?  Guess the spirit never dies in some people no matter how old you get.
  13. Almost as bad as those thugs that shot that baby in the face.  fucking disgusting
  14.     Agree completely, improving on a technology is fairly easy as compared to creating something useful out of nothing.
  15. Hey man, you need one of these in your shop   http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=083_1377135924
  16. I wouldn't spend to much debating the specifics of any system, because almost every cop out there uses radar, then laser comes in second.  a radar detector, even a cheap one, helps out on almost every single situation.
  17. A bulletproof vest doesn't make you bulletproof, but I'd sure rather be wearing one going into a gunfight. Same with a radar detector, we have one in every car and the only time an issue has occured is when they weren't turned on :)
  18. Was not aware of that about wnd, might be another site to add to the blacklist of things to ignore on the web. Heard about this on the radio yesterday and that guy usually doesn't run with stories like this.
  19. Radar detector is a great investment
  20. Ted Nugent brings this kind of stuff up every time there's an incident.... Because there seems to be a crazy pattern
  21. Not making any claims here, but it is coming from a legit source from a public speech, not one of those BS Alex Jones "secret inside sources"
  22. Did you notice that the first emergency meeting he called was not after 1000 people were killed, but after a top spiritual leader of the MB was incarcerated?
  23. First want to say I'm anti tin foil hat but this story looks like it's got the possibility to cause a SHTF scenario as far as politics are concerned. Coming from WND, but they are quoting the vice president of Egypt's supreme court from a televised speech. read the whole thing: http://www.wnd.com/2013/08/obamas-brother-linked-to-muslim-brotherhood/ This is not good for anyone involved, and if true, starts making this whole benghazi and the gun running thing come into light on why they are working overtime trying to smash it, and that they needed the muslim brotherhood in egypt to smash whatever info they are talking about releasing.
  24.   Cruz had almost no money in Texas and spanked the pants off the "sure thing"   They can spend 10 mil, but if they can't get people off their ass and to the polls, it is wasted.
  25.   Why not get into a trade school? IMO they're more valuable than learning how to do statistics or some other useless crap.
