  You're 180 degrees off of what I am saying.  The cowering is what is creating this extension and what will implement a temporary solution again.     I've never seen an issue where if someone owes a bill, they can't pay it unless they get a new credit card with a higher limit.  We can pay the current bills just as we are doing now, hitting the limit doesn't mean we have no more revenue coming in, it just means that we need to prioritize   The way to fix this?  For congress to not increase the debt ceiling, then force the decision at cutting programs that are growing out of hand.

Have to disagree with you on that one 6.8, everyone is prepping up for another last minute temporary solution again.  And we'll be right back at square one next year, instead of fixing the problem now.   This was like going into the battle of little bighorn, getting up to the fences and then saying "Let's deal with this next summer, I've got to be at my kid's soccer match tonight".

Anyone that works with the PD in Davidson Co (or any of them in a surrounding area) know if they have any teams or actual positions for digital investigations or do they just send those incidents to the FBI?   Currently in a systems forensics class and our project has us gathering info on some specific processes used in the real world and compare them to what is taught in the CISSP materials.  Would really like to get this done in person if possible, and all I could get from the FBI guys I know was information on evidence collection at the scene.

buy a mac and you don't have to worry about 99.995% of these issues.   or   you can go through a lengthy process to get your files back, and then get smacked with a variant that is released days after you get everything fixed.  As for your files, I don't recommend carbonite, we use www.crashplan.com because they retain every version of a file that is backed up example:   have photo1.jpg & document1.docx get hit with Crilock on October 1 and it encrypts photo1.jpg & document1.docx crashplan backs up the two files online because they've changed. download the two files from the September 30th backup in crashplan and viola.
