I've got a set of the SHURE SE215's and they are fantastic at drowning out ambient noise (to the point you can use them at the range... yeah yeah i know i shouldn't) but they are made for primarily as isolation devices and designed to perform a similar function as a monitor... not full-spectrum audio, they are so-so on the quality of sound. However, I cannot attest to the quality of the $1,000 version of the SE's with the triple drivers (nor will I ever be able to).

Can't say a single thing positive about skullcandy. most of the people that like them haven't used a set of headphones that are well-built acoustically. Beats is probably the same quality as skullcandy, but you can't brag to your friends about having a $300 set of cheap Chinese headphones with a beats logo if you don't buy them! The other three, no experience with. With you on the bluetooth issue, I went through probably a dozen sets of headphones last year trying to get something that replicates the quality of my 1MORE triple driver headphones and there's just nothing that does... I've just stuck with a wired connection.

Like this idiot that kissed a cottonmouth?

Like the others said, 'gang signs'

Yeah, I offered them to the neighborhood but didn't want to post anything on craigslist or the other sites because I didn't want people poking around at my house or potentially claiming to get hurt moving the rocks and me have to file a claim on my homeowner's... It was just better for me to take them to the recycling center since it is only 10 minutes away. Gravel or something else not so heavy wouldn't have been much of a big deal, but the majority of those boulders were 40-50lbs+, it's just asking for the scum to "drop one" on their feet or blow out their back so they can cash in on me and get some more pain pills from the doc.

in the dump at the recycling center

is this so "they" can control our salt intake now?

I would just avoid the area altogether but this dude has a different take on it

And would you be willing to 'appropriate' a few ? I'll pay the going craigslist rate for stolen faux boulders
-
Heck thanks man I didn't know those things existed, will definitely get one now

Would've never thought about doing something like this, looks like it was pretty effective. https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=31f_1494573609

didn't really think about it much. Not sure what code requirements are for electrical like that but it's got the 110v for the pond and a 220v for camper hookups, so I don't know what could be done with it.

No way I'm doing it for other people, i've got an artificial hip (took 4 surgeries to get that right) and going in for a total knee replacement in a few weeks. Had some difficulty doing this one, so no way I would put more wear and tear on my body for a few free beers, or extra bucks lol. Am more than happy to stand around, drink gatorade and supervise people though

You know you grabbed a couple of ties and you and the mrs' were practicing "don't build that wall"

yes, in the pond there will be some cat tails (gets rid of algae), some type of flowering lily to create shade for the fish. There will be a few smaller plants (not sure what yet) at the bottom towards the retaining wall, and on the top of the retaining wall I forget what the names of the flowers will be that were in there before but I'm going to put a few groups of them in that area. Not going to put anything around the rim of the pond itself because I'm dropping a lighting system in and don't want to block it.

Female cardinal banging on my window... how to stop?
Sam1 replied to jgradyc's topic in General Chat
tape a cd or something that shines/glittery in the window. I have the same problem with the large windows in my kitchen, robins fly into it full speed trying to mate with themselves all spring. Put a couple of old cd's up and poof they stopped doing it instantly. -
you could take a big breath and float in it, it's only about 30" deep in the middle lol

Yeah, removing those boulders opened up the pond by almost two feet across, so you can only imagine how hard it was to keep the frogs away. I put foam everywhere there was a decent sized hole on top of that, so hopefully it will keep most of them away.

Been scarce around here because of school, work, and this demonic pond project. Cheapest bid from a contractor was quoted at $4,000 +/- (which we all know would have been 25% more after they started). Highest bid was $11,000. I said screw a bunch of that, watched some videos on youtube and figured out how to do it myself. The pond was just trashy looking, it had probably close to 5 tons of river boulders piled up around the edge (contractor was probably laughing all the way to the bank after installing it). My disabled ass removed literally everything except a single boulder (can't move it, it's too big - used a 7" stone cutter to cut rings around it, drilled holes, used a sledge and chisels, and even (literally) melted a bit behind a 70# jackhammer and the damn thing wouldn't crack). Employing some neighbors for plan B on it Wednesday. Brought in 2 tons of flat rock to replace it with. Anywho, in at a total of $825 for everything and that includes some new tools/toys I had to buy. Looks pretty good now, just needs some plants to soften it up and some in the pond to provide shade for the koi. This is it mid-project (forgot to take before pic) And today: No more projects this year. Am done with doing anything except mowing lol.

Heard a cop say somewhere that sagging pants are great, because they always get a heads up before the suspect bolts when he reaches down to pull them up. Until then, I was against it too.

That's not different than anywhere else in the country, it's SOP. Actually, if you found a company that would allow you to do otherwise, it would be surprising. To answer the others' questions on tapping the existing breaker box for a secondary power source; that won't pass inspection. You'd have to do that under the radar. why? because the electric companies want you dependent on them, can't be having too many people doing their own thing and reducing that dependency. I ran this gambit when moving into this house in '13. Had all the estimates, all the plans, everything... for a 4.8kw array and then seen it would take 20 years just to break even, even with the 30% rebate and would be on the brink of the lifespan of the panels after that time.
