  1.     Go empty the shelves cause you'll be able to sell it for double or triple by Monday
  2.   Yeah the AMD cards work good for script mining, but anything with an sha256 since the ASIC's have already come out, doing btc with cards is pretty much never going to break even.   Oh and tnguy, I actually do know a lot about the coin market... Just like to spread rumors on shortages and failings cause you'd be surprised on what panic buying does to my side business of buying and selling graphics cards.  People will find tid bits here and there and everywhere and the more that show up, the more you can influence the market.  Just this year, I've already ordered over $9000 of radeon 280x's  at pre-rush pricing and sold them for mucho dinero.   The nvidia cards are pretty much crap, even the newly touted 750ti's with a low wattage consumption are not really good because you need so many of them to do the same thing a few amd r9 cards do that they almost equal each other out.   My advice to anyone looking at this stuff, remember that during the gold rush, the people that owned the general store were the ones that got rich, not the miners.
  3.     Word is from the joint chief is that the pentagon plans on taking the same tactical posture as they took on Iran last year; someone from the US is going to send a letter to Putin politely asking if we can have our Ukraine back, just like we did with Iran when they captured our drone.  When Putin says no, nothing else will be done from our side
  4. looks like putin is coming in and setting up shop.   http://www.liveleak.com/browse?q=crimea
  5.   Anything that fluctuates in value 75%+ in a quarter is pretty stable huh?
  6. Like this SUV driver, sees some thugs on a motorcycle do a robbery then just runs into them:   http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a62_1393161894
  7. misadvertising!
  8. I use dreamhost.com for multiple forums, and am on their shared plan... unlimited everything and speed is pretty good.  one of the forums sees about 10,000 hits a day and there's never any issue, nor have I considered paying for a dedicated server.   check them out before you start looking at expensive solutions.
  9. Definitely not using up that much bandwidth gaming, even 24/7. And unless you all streaming movies or music 24/7 it's probably not that either. My guess it would be one of two things: Malware or file sharing/downloading. The easiest way to verify file sharing is not happening is to install a keylogger/screencap program on his computer. Don't take that as opinions on how to parent, it's just the easiest way to get to the bottom of things with limited technical knowledge. Outside of that, you're looking at a vast array possibilities that could take a long time to isolate or remediate without a tech person physically investigating for you. Normally if it is malware, Comcast will tell you they've detected something and ask you to download their Symantec, and run a scan.
  10. thanks for this, but I would recommend that everyone download it directly from the manufacturer not from a third party site.  Never know what kind of fuzzy stuff is inside those files.
  11.   What some of the unions have done in the past is irrelevant to the employees' right to organize.     Not directed at you Smith, but I think the misunderstanding of the union impact on TN's right to work law is what has caused this entire debacle.  The law would not be affected in any manner and in fact, it would keep the union in check for just going 'rogue' if you will since the employees would and could not legally be forced into paying union dues.  There was never a chance of some massive collapse/loss of jobs like what happened with unionized jobs in non-right to work states.   It wouldn't have mattered one way or another, I just think everyone should've let those people decide on their own if they want to organize or not.
  12.   +1 but I think they will put up a bigger fight than expected because of the gov's interference.  If the unions were just shut down by workers and VW, they would've whistled on down the road to the next stop...
  13.   May I point you in the direction of the first amendment?    That ties into the freedom of association and so on... out of respect for brevity on a conlaw debate, unionizing is just as a right for citizens as owning a gun; both afforded to us on the same document.
  14.   I am a victim of my own ideology and that is to allow private business to function without interference from the same people who say that government interferes too much with private business.   Let the vote happen freely as it should without interference, if no union is good, then the people will not vote it in.  If it is, then they will.  The personnel agreements of a private entity do not impact the lives of people not associated with that entity.  The people involved are adults, they can handle their business just fine.   And again, I'm not pro-union, but I think everyone should stop telling everyone else how to run their lives because they don't like one thing or another.  How many times have you been upset recently over gun-banning libtards trying to tell the government what to restrict that directly impacts you?  But that application is different right, cause we like guns and we don't like unions.
  15.   My point is that there is nothing to differentiate the two.  However, while Haslam (and other pols) run around the state claiming to be business friendly and stating that the government has no place interfering with private business, he is also essentially attempting to extort a private business for partaking in activities that only involve them.  To put that in perspective on a gun forum, that is like the gov. being pro 2a, but then threatening to implement a firing range tax to businesses that open their range on Sundays because we think their employees should be at home instead.   Think about this in the long term, the pols have come out and blatantly said that they are scared that if VW unionizes that other businesses will not come to the state, that's why they are interfering.  Now, if you are a business thinking of coming in, do you not now consider that if the current administration is willing to go to these measures, what guarantees are there that the next one that doesn't line with your beliefs isn't going to do the same?   We're getting to the point where common sense is being replaced with "because I said so" on the conservative side of the fence, and that's not good.
  16. So I should have input on how much vacation time a secretary gets at an asphalt company? Every decision always has implications on people outside of the situation. Just because we don't like what two private entities agree on doesn't mean we get to inject our personal beliefs on them.
  17. They should contest it, Haslam was trying to coerce them by threatening to take away freebies for the sole reasoning if they organized. I also like how they claim to be friendly to private business and are for less interference of government in them, but they are playing interference as much as possible because they don't like it. Am not pro-union, but this is a matter between the business and its employees, not politicians and people not working for VW
  18. Just checked with the Alex Jones crowd, and apparently that is a FEMA death camp squirrel, not a possum.
  19. You could use up a few years worth of tags with a single .50 BMG round from the right angle in my coworkers yard:
  20. possum
  21.   My primary care guy in Knoxville was pretty cool, we used to talk about junk all the time and he was telling me that one day he broke.  Person comes in and says "blah blah blah and on webmd it said I may have blah blah blah" He said "well hell, if you already know what's wrong, why did you come in to see me?"
  22.   Yep!  You go on there searching about a headache and you'll leave the site 30 minutes later thinking you have stomach cancer
  23. for your enjoyment, the success rate of ingenuity is not as high as they would like it to be at times   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UchFWHpYhzA
  24.   If extortion means that I don't have to wait in line behind the 67 families that have never flown before and can't find their documentation or their children... then all I have to ask is, where do I sign up?

    Magic Hat

My Magic Hat While in California I needed to go to the emergency room. Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put on my Magic Green Hat. When I went into the E.R., I noticed that 3/4 of the people got up and left. I guess they decided that they weren't that sick after all. Cut at least 3 hours off my waiting time. Here's the hat: Below. It also works at Dept. of Motor Vehicles. It saved me 5 hours. At the Laundromat, three minutes after entering, I had my choice of any machine, most still running. If you live in Texas, it might cut your wait time at the grocery store. But, don't try it at McDonald's. The whole crew ran out the back door and I never did get my order!
