Did Everything Weapons in Franklin sell me a used gun as new?
Sam1 replied to wtl's topic in General Chat
Taurus would've cleaned it after they did any work. That little ledge on the side of the follower looks like it's got gunk on it, not residue from a test fire or two. I personally wouldn't be worried about the gun being used or not BUT would be pissed off if they sold it to me as new and it was used @ new gun pricing. -
Just creating a product for another sector, like Ford produces Mustangs and SUV's... not everyone wants the same thing. As far as the electric bikes themselves, I think they are bad ass. Anyone who says otherwise has not seen the killacycle that turns 0-60 in under 1 second and uses less than 10 cents worth of electricity to turn a sub 8 second 1/4 mile time. Can't wait until the technology is around to have a motorcycle that can run 200mph on batteries and have reserves long enough to last a few hours. <edit> obviously not talking about enough power to be running 200mph for hours

They all have wifi, it's just not enabled for you to access - if you take a scanner inside the stores you can pick it up.

meh.. I turn off wifi outside of the house. Those stores ping your wifi connections constantly to record behaviors throughout the place. Even if you don't connect to the wifi, some of their systems will constantly ping it to record your movements (how long you stay in certain areas, which paths you walk etc) - WalMart even goes to the extent of matching movements up with items purchased at checkout and I think there were plans in the future to start focusing mailed/emailed advertisements to people based on all of that data.

Too fancy for me... we have a $150 4+1 burner propane grill from WalMart. It cooks stuff too, not sure if it holds heat well or not cause if the temp goes down, I just turn the knob up a little :)

comcast's 3d channel sucks, it has been playing the same 10 things over and over for the past year. The 3d sports channel is ok, but most of those events are old.

Just don't say that about people buying and reselling ammo, for some reason no one likes to be on the receiving side of that because it's "just not fair"

http://www.tn.gov/regboards/asc/ There's a link on there to file a complaint with the state board.

well that was nice... some plastic surgeon in Vegas said he would help any way he could, even on into the future. https://www.facebook.com/DrStile (copied his link from that little girl's FB page) Hope they can get her back to the way she was before the attack

I think a bunch of people here would've also handed out free throat punches to those people on their way out.

lol KFC in for the win! This is a nasty PR issue to deal with, even though the issue was isolated. As for the actual incident that caused the injuries to the child, I'm sure the owners of the dogs said the same thing they always do "my dogs never hurt anyone or acted aggressive towards anyone before I have no idea why they done this" This issue would be best solved with some criminal charges, and a whole bunch of bills coming their way.

anyone have one of these? have been procrastinating on getting something like this and starting to convulse since there's been no new babies in the house for about 6 months now. Or if you all have another suggestion, has to be a 9mm or .45 and I don't want to piece one together, want to buy the entire thing. Not too worried about cost as long as the expense is justified. Seen another one from some company named "just right" but have never even heard of that company before so not sure what the story is behind their stuff.

Iraq is not heating back up, it never cooled off. Both of these administrations has completely failed at dealing with the fact that these people have been fighting for thousands of years and we are not going to change the culture with diplomacy.

what he is talking about is not a honey pot, that and phishing are not even remotely related.
-
The fact that it is so absurd the company that makes them doesn't even really know how to market it, makes it even funnier.

The different IP's may point to the same mac or different mac, I'm not sure how those systems are programmed or built. Either option is possible and both are common to see. I wouldn't use their stuff anyways, you get a much better connection with those 8x4 modems as compared to their rental 4x4's (think they still use those primarily). Like here is a test I just ran on our 50/10 connection (we pay for the 25mb plan but they double it to 50 now for everyone I believe) with an 8x4 device. Sometimes it runs pretty close to 100mb downloads, but is running a bit slower now cause of the congestion

OS, it takes about 10 seconds to spoof a MAC address. IP addresses are irrelevant on a private network because there is no substantial logging mechanism involved on those modem/routers (I hate to use the term modem with cable service because it's not actually a modem, it is a translational bridge). As for external IP's, even if they are in a different range, they still are associated with the same router so having an IP for your network and one for the "public" side doesn't really do anything except provide two points of ID for a device on the network.

I'm not going to argue semantics on this, it's a waste of time. Common sense and reasonable expectation does not exist in every situation... And it's not like I want it to be this way, but it is what it is.

or three. hell a dozen would be cheaper in the long run than owning a boat

I've always wondered if these things actually work, maybe you could find something similar? http://www.ultimatebarkcontrol.com/a/stop-neighbor-dog-barking.htm?pk_campaign=Adwords-Bark-Broad-Modified&pk_kwd=%2Bstop%20%2Bneighbor%20%2Bdog%20%2Bbarking&gclid=CKGMqoqz6r4CFaVQOgodJVQAIg#page=Main-Tab It claims to have a 300 foot range and has a 45 day money back guarantee, so you could at least get your money back if it doesn't work.

Yep, but the way they transfer liability is by those 4,000 page disclaimers and providing the capability of disabling it as well as the info on how to do it. Basic transfer of risk scenario.
-
Actually you can be; I've done plenty of research for classes over the past 7 years (starting on my phd next spring) in info security and there are plenty of cases where people set up open networks (or guest networks) on purpose so they could use the defense that they were considered a service provider (because service providers are not responsible for the actions of individuals)... and many of those cases ended up with the person that owned the wifi network paying up big time. under the DMCA (1998) stipulations (or whatever the lawyers call it) to eliminate liability for an ISP is that the ISP must prove that they had no knowledge of the activity, must not be profiting from it, must have policies in place to address repeat offenders and something else I can't recall. The fuzzy stuff comes in now because if an individual doesn't have these things in place, then they are not necessarily considered a service provider. And that's just concerning copyrighted materials, the whole child/person abuse content is a completely different animal that makes illegal downloads look like a sunday afternoon picnic.

If it is open to anyone outside my home, then it is public. Just because they need to have a comcast account doesn't mean diddly squat; and even if Joe Bob is logged in with their account, it still originates on YOUR network and you're responsible for it. Authentication mechanisms do not eliminate liability. It's a complex issue; even though you *could* be considered a service provider (or use that as a defense) because of your network being shared out, that does not remove the impact that an initial investigation would have if for example someone was downloading child porn on your network. Just going through that stuff, even if 100% innocent would be devastating. To contrast that, before the RIAA stopped doing mass lawsuits for copyright infringement, people were held liable, by a court, for damages from other people using their network to download or share files. So in short, the tin foil hat thing has more weight behind it than you think.

Don't worry about that, Google is working on it as we speak. They're spending over a billion dollars to launch 180 low-orbit satellites to provide the planet with wifi http://www.zdnet.com/google-to-launch-180-satellites-in-1bn-plan-to-cover-the-unwired-7000030095/
