Thanks for the info. I am new to kayak fishing and trying to keep it somewhat simple but that is hard to do.

I would like to get in on a group trip! I have a slow side by side. I would even be down to primitive camp as well.

Xxx, What fish finder are you using in your yak?

Painting airweight J-Frame?
mhm2a replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I bead blasted my 637 and duracoated the frame while leaving the cylinder the original finish. I let it cure for 2 weeks before carrying and It did not hold up at all. I ended up bead blasting off the duracoat and just rocking a satin finish with no more clear coat. If I had to do it over I would contact S&W to see if they would warranty the finish. -
Checkout the stones river below the dam @ Walter Hill. If you drive down Jefferson Pike toward Smyrna there are a couple pull offs to the left hand side of the road where you can wet a line in privacy. You can also go a few more miles and hit the Mona boat ramp area. Light color rooster tails will net you a few varieties of fish this time of year. If you go to the Greenway off Medical Center Parkway you may be distracted by the girls jogging in sports bras but that's a hell of a dilemma!

I ride dual sports and dirt bikes frequently. My sidearm usually matches the type of ride i plan on taking. When aggressively riding I usually choose a pocket pistol. A ruger LCP in a Remora will fit inside the cargo pocket of my off-road and dual sport gear. Today we rode some awesome trails in an area of Grundy county that has a tough reputation and I wouldn't leave home without a pistol and spare magazine. The nice thing about small pistols and pocket holsters when anticipating rain or creek crossings is that both will fit in a small ziplock bag in your pocket.

The height is o.k. but I would not complain if it were a little taller. I thought about a lower seat to accomplish the same goal but it works well enough for me as is.

I have a semi permanent shooting table on the farm, but sometimes you need a quick portable table to use in other areas. The top is simply cut from 3/4 inch plywood and I re-purposed some legs from a worn out folding table attached them with conduit straps on the bottom. I have been surprised at how often I use this table for range duty or just providing a place to lay a few more firearms. Fresh built AR pics to boot:

On my Marlin I was able to retain the front sight using the lo pro skinner sight. The receiver mounted Henry sight is taller and may be able to use the front sight but I would anticipate having to add a taller front sight. If you drill and tap for the lo pro I think you could get away with the factory front sight blade. I am not sure there is enough clearance between the receiver cover and the inner workings of the rifle but I plan to look soon. Below is a good resource of Henry info: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=e0c179e33f122d67ad2c68851e590673&f=67

What about receiver mounted peep sights? I have the low pro on a marlin 30-30 and they are superior to buckhorn sights but a little more money. http://www.skinnersights.com/henry_rifles_18.html

That is quite a climb coming in off Fann Rd to Pleasant Ridge in a rear wheel drive muscle car.....It must have felt like pikes peak.

Since you did not get many other useful replies. We are using Cooks Tree Service in Murfreesboro right now on several jobs and I would recommend them. They are not the least expensive and not the most expensive, but they will do the job and they clean up after themselves. They even blew the sawdust off a roof they were working above last week when I came by to check on a job. MONSTER Turkey Down By 12 yr. old- PLEASE HELP!
mhm2a replied to TresMon's topic in Hunting and Fishing
What an awesome thing to do for a young man. It takes a special person to think of others first. I can relate to your story since my parents divorced when I was about 7 years old. My own relationship with my father is strained, but god has put some good men in my path that have helped me along the way. I will donate to Andrew's bird so look for my funds in your pay-pal account. -
I think I could make one of thos out of a propane weedburner....Sounds like a project.

I got mole number #3 today in the same area as mole #2. All three of the yards that touch mine have moles, however, they do not care about their yards or landscaping so it is going to be a long battle. It is kind of rewarding when you get one of those furry turf terrorists. They have cost us a couple of hundred dollars in shrubs and trees so I show no mercy on them. They dont go in our back yard because our dogs will get them so that is the only area they are not active. If you are having problems you can pick up a couple of the victor spike traps for about $20.00 and give it a shot. If you need any tips just let me know....

I bought another trap this year so I am going after them double time. I have learned for more about the movement of moles than I care to even talk about, but I have gotten two of the furry little turf devils in the last week....Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure...If you like moles then please hit your back button......war is ugly.....

Hey Mike, There are a ton of dirt roads in and around Hickman County if you like that sort of riding. Best of all it is not too far from you if you cruise into franklin and then to Leipers Fork that is where it all begins. Check out the link below if you want to meet some people to ride with in our area: Middle Tennessee DS Ride Schedule Q2 2010 - Page 204 - ADVrider Congrats on your new toy! Hunter.

A way to mount your hunting weapon of choice (bow, rifle, shotgun, etc...) and maybe an extended rear rack to haul out your game. A winch can come in handy when stuck or to be able to throw the cable over a sturdy tree branch and hang your game up. Other than that it is all personal preference and necessity will dictate other things you may want/need.

Lets have the recipe and a few instructions and I will give it a go next time....

I found a hole that I think is the den and this was definitely the mommy. The funny thing is that this all went down on Mother's Day......

It was last Sunday when I Finally got my scope mounted (Burris P.E.P.R + Leupold 2x7x33) and to the farm where I could sight her in. I no more than finished a good grouping when I saw somthing making its way through the yard at about 120yds to my left. I pulled the range bag over on the table to steady her up and then the groundhog paused.....It was all over for her and the winchester/nosler silvertip did its job well. Some of you may have heard this story before, but this is the edited version.....and the picture below.
