I didn't even decide to go hunting until about 3:00 Sat afternoon. I threw on my hunting clothes, jumped in the truck and headed out. After about a 10 minute drive, I got to where we park and what do I see but three mutts. They took off across the field I was going to hunt. Not going to a productive afternoon or so I thought. By the time I walked all of 150 yards to the shooting house, it's about 3:45. After getting situated and a good book in hand I heard something coming up out of the hollow to my left. Look up and see cows moving my way, GREAT I thought. I decide to hang in there until the cows were up to the top of the hill then call it a day. About 5 minutes later I hear something coming up out of the hollow on my right, thinking it was more cows I take a glance. By God, this was the biggest deer I have ever personally seen on foot. The time between me seeing him and and shooting was 30 seconds, 1 minute tops. He piled up about 30 yards from where he was hit and only about 60 yards from the shooting house. It took me at least 30 minutes to calm down enouph to climb down without falling. This is absoultly my deer of a lifetime.
