I just bought the wife a P238 and it shoots great. Tought I would get some input on its big brother.

I don't think there will be any leaning it up and moving it. I'm thinking this thing weights 700 plus pounds. I'm putting some skids on the front legs so that hopefully the 4-wheeler will be able to pull it around.

Anbody got any hands on experience with the Sig P938? Likes/dislikes?
-
poured on the floor with metal plates imbedded in the bottom at the leg locations. After curing, lifted in place and welded to stand
-
yep and you can adjust vertically also
-
Just something i threw together. Stand was built with metal I had laying around and weights about 200 lbs. I used 8, 80lb bags of sack-crete.

Welcome, what part of the county are you from?

Couple years ago, all I had left to do was take the oath and I was in. But with the son joining Boy Scouts and other family matters, I decided to put it off for a few years. You do have to complte the regular taining, same as the deputies, get finger printed, psych exam, weapon cert, (45 caliber required). But unless it has changed, be ready for a bunch of bickering at the meetings. which use to be, maybe still are, the first Tuesday of each month at the Sheriff's dept. Go talk with Maury, real good guy. Mike Claiburn use to be the Dept Liaison to the possee.

Please keep us informed on this scope. I have been looking at this one and seems to be a possobility.

What type of desiccant does everyone use in there gun safe and where is the cheepest place to purchase? thanks
-
Not a real big hassle because I learned of the requirement beforehand so I brought my own lock and hardcase. Didn't want to have to buy another.
-
In Fayetteville, when you buy a long gun, you have to either buy a hard case and lock or bring one with you. They will not sell you a gun unless they can put it in a locked hard case and carry it to the curb. The high school is diagonlly across the highway and the worker said it was some kind of federal law dealing with the school. Anyone know of the law they speek of? Kind of funny as I was carrying a loaded 45 and could not carry an unloaded rifle out of the store.

I second Larrys pistol and pawn, great shop. I wish Larry would hurry up and open his store in Fayetteville. If it is anything like his store in Huntsville, it will put a hurting on anything within 50-100 miles.

Completely different experence at WM in Fayetteville. I asked for ammo, she opened up the case and walked away. Grabbed the ammo I wanted and she said if I needed to do more shopping that I could pay up front. Took the box and walked away. The way it should be, except the locked display.

Yea, I went a little overboard. A couple things I learned along the way: 1. Rem oil and polyurathane don't play well together. Need plastic trays to catch solvent. 2. Would make the upright thingie longer to allow it to break open further. 3. Maybe the most important, brad nails shot into your thumb hurt like a SOB.

Just a little show and tell time. Really helps, at least me, with cleaning.

Down and Derby, great movie

Just got an DPMS AR with a front gas block with a rail that is out of plane with the rear rail. The gas block rail is probably 1/4" shorter than the rear rail. I'm looking for folding iron sights to fit this configuration that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Anybody been thru this and have any suggestions?

Watching previews for TopShot and remembering last year, can you buy exploding plate targets? Or did they have a jar of tannerite sitting behind the target? Can you make your own by buying the tannerite jars and mix with water to make a paste and smear it on something to get the same result?

Take a look at this page for the laws. http://www.nraila.org/statelawpdfs/TNSL.pdf Check out the Taurus 709 slim for a very slim 9mm.

Have you checked out the PT 845? American Rifleman did a write up in there latest mag on the 738, 740, and 809. The 845 I have is very accurate and great shooting.
