I stand corrected, starting immediately if you take the http://www.huntercourse.com online course, there is NO field day requirement for ages 9 and up. I just spoke to Trina in Nashville, Region 2 and she confirmed this. http://www.hunter-ed.com in in the process of updating to the new (or lack of) requirement. NRA is in the process of creating a FREE online course. She did say it takes up to two weeks to get your card in the mail and to be put into the system.

TWRA has not waived the in class portion if under 21, still have to attend a TWRA Field Day. They have waived the live fire portion of all classes. You can purchase an apprentice license (hunter education exemption) up to 3 times which allows anybody to buy a hunting license and hunt without Hunters education.

FYI Per the Hunting and Trapping guide: Use or possession of the following equipment is prohibited: Any electronic light amplifying night vision scope, thermal imaging device, or similar devices while in possession of a firearm or archery tackle between sunset and sunrise.

Does anyone know where the extra money goes? I know part of the money I pay for my NRA tag goes to youth shooting sports.

Man blows off leg shooting Tannerite rifle targets

It's called 22 sensitive, and a 22 will make it go boom. -
Yep, the Henry's are super nice, but I consider them eye candy. I wouldn't want to shoot them in fear of scratching them. The 10-22 is something that he might take out of the safe and go shoot.

Anyone receive their badges yet? Anyone else volunteering? -
Looking for out of the way joints to eat at. Wanting to stay away from the chain restaurants.

I don't think they are up and running yet in Huntsville. There are only about 40-50 cars in their parking lot daily. I drive by it twice a day.

It's a bit more the 10 miles south the the stateline. Right at 30 miles, I drive by the old Chrylser building everyday on my way to Boeing. But still true, many Tennesseans could work there. -

2014 Off Season Support Group Deer Season Thread
graydw1 replied to Slappy's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I sat and watched him for well over an hour at about 120 yards and was going to give him a pass with the rifle, but he stupidly started following a doe and came within pistol range of about 45 yards. One shot with the Ruger GP100 357, and about 30 yards later, the chase was over. Most sawmills will not take trees from around houses. They have a fear someone hung, for example, a hoe in one of the branches and the tree grew around it. Oak does not make good fence posts.

At 50 yds Backstop/targets I can go out to 300yds.

I used what metal I had laying around. If I had bought new, it would have been lighter. The tops thickness is a 2x4 width. I didn't know if I could have went thinner without cracking, and to lazy to cut the 2x4's down Right now, I've only got about $75 into it plus time. :pleased:

yep, fiber concrete and rebar.
