Im curious to what you guys spank your kids for. Give some examples if you dont mind. Not trying to be mean. Just waana know what warrants your spankings.
My son was 6. He grabbed his penis in class and gestured to the teacher to blow him and told her to shove it. Not sure where he learned that from or who got him to do it, but the a** whooping was swift and effective. From that day forward, the reports we get from other people about is behavior is that he is the most polite, well mannered child they have met. Yes sir, no ma'ams all the time. Remember, NEVER judge your childs behavior with your own eyes. Always judge it with what others say about your child when you're not around. Most children act entirely different when they are not around their parents.
if dcs does nothing who do i contact next? my little brother is going through the samething and hes 10, my mom does not feed him or cook dinner for him and if he gets his own food she eats it instead and she is never around to take care of him, me and my gf have basically been taking care of him by cooking him dinner etc
I would, if you have the ability, get as many of your family members (extended also) to intervene and handle these issues internally. If you get no support from within, try calling DCS and become the squeaky wheel. At some point, she might mess up bad enough and hurt him bad enough for them to get involved. If that point comes, there will be a trail of complaints showing a history of issues. That might just be enough to warrant DCS getting involved. Once again, once they get in your (family) life, they do not go away easily. Feelings will be hurt and the child will have to live life with fosters, and that is worse in some instances.
shes completely on the system, shes just like our mom she has a record so she cant get a job or if she can she is like alot of people who abuse the system and does not want too, i dont even know where shes getting money to move out (well except that she stole my grandfathers 900 dollar ring and he believes she did it but no proof) or to have a one of the pay minute phones or if the way shes getting money is legal or not
In this case, good luck getting DCS to act. It will cost them money out of their pocket and she is already fully supported by the state. The state will not reimbursement DCS if they take the child. Catch 22. Hate to say it but it boils down to money, just like everything else. I saw a DCS worker with my own eyes call cigarette burns on the arm of a little girl an accident because mommy was already a ward of the state. They were not going to make money off of her if they took the girl simply for cigarette burns. It disgusts me to no end. You're in a tight spot. I wish you well. One thing, do NOT take the child and call it protecting him. The same DCS (legal) system calls that kidnapping. Now you're the bad guy.
i have also seen her jerk him by the arm and pick him up and walk off in anger carrying him by the one arm, we also contacted dcs and they sent someone over but my sister just lied through her teeth and the dcs person just laughed and giggled with her over what she was saying, it was a complete joke
Not to be intrusive, does your sister have a job? Or is she being completely supported by the system (tenncare, food stamps, welfare, etc.)? My experience in this area has taught me that DCS will not likely intervene because when they remove a child they charge the parents for child support and cost of custody. If she is already on the rolls then they will eat the cost of intervening with the child. If she had a job or money of her own they would have already acted on the accusations alone. So, until she actually does some severe, noticeable harm....DCS will not likely do anything.
she does not spank him on the butt and i have not been around him much but he used to have cuts on his legs ALL the time and she has said its cause he falls ALOT her words not mine
I would say then, she is not "spanking" the child but striking him and that is unacceptable.
-
Contrary to liberal belief, spanking is not illegal. Only time its considered abuse is if the child has bruising or the spanking is elsewhere besides the butt. Now, I'm no lawyer but do have some personal experience with this subject. The law will and can be bent to accuse the parent of anything they want. Common sense should prevail. Just because the child is throwing a huge, loud, obnoxious tantrum when getting spanked does not mean the child is being abused. If the spanking results in bruising then it can be called abuse by the system BUT once again some children bruise very easily. I would mind your own business until there is hard, solid evidence of actual abuse. Once you involve the system, they will make it up as they go along and your relationship with your family is done, forever. The system is set up in the child abuse area so that you will fail, and you will be charged and they have NO I repeat NO oversight to determine if they are not being over zealous.

The post office is "losing" money they are mandated to spend, by order of congress, to front load its retirement fund. Cost of that mandate is 5 billion per year. 12 quarters = 3 years. 15 billion in losses is three years worth of mandate that they are being forced to pay. The post office no longer has the ability to pay its bills AND the mandate during a down economy. Congress refuses to stop the mandate because they are taking that retirement fund money and writing IOU's like they are for SS. So it's not so much miss management of the company as it is the ridiculous government regulations and mandates the post office has to follow. The news reports are somewhat of a smoke and mirror act to get the public upset to step in and put pressure on the congress to lift the mandates. The post office is the single, sole business that has to follow this mandate. Why? It's funny. Everyone wants to complain about the post office and its relevancy but try and close a single branch office and the whole county goes berserk and starts protesting and calling senators. The Saturday delivery deal and closing processing plants is needed to stay afloat, UNLESS, congress drops the mandate.

Despite Sandy, Sentinels Stand Guard at Tomb of the Unknowns
101 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes. The treasure is the greatest of all. The ultimate sacrifice that an ordinary man has given to his fellow Countrymen. His body was mangled or lost in time and cannot be identified. To be nameless is to not exist. The sentinel guard is the very least this Country can do to honor those that have given everything for the rest of us to carry on. Even though they may be nameless, their service will never be forgotten. I believe we will guard that tomb, as we should, until this Country has fallen. -
If the post office was to "privatize" in the full sense of the word and be allowed to operate for a profit like a private business, you would be paying 2$ for stamps and 50$ to mail those flat rate boxes. If y'all get bored sometime, research other countries mail systems and you will be thankful we have what we have now.
-
Wrong. The only tax dollars the post office receives is reimbursement for mailing election ballots to military. The post office is 100% self sufficient. The post office also ships twice as many packages as ups and fedex combined. The post office has the largest fleet in the Country (unless you combine the DoD vehicles from all military branches).

What blows my mind is the fact that this is even "legal" anywhere in this Country. Why someone hasn't filed a big lawsuit against NYC at this point and won is mind boggling. DC tries the same crap. Just another example of why I'll not set foot in either one of those places. Shame that we have to boycott cities in our own Country. Unbelievable actually.

I'm in agreement with this statement, if it only applied to the fees the school is "asking" you to voluntarily give. Keep in mind, the schools have no legal right to ask for money or "force you to pay". They can simply ask you for donations. So when they ask for money or "fees" (except for extra curricula activities) I hear this....."Mr. Smith, we have blown our money that was to be used for your childs education and now we need more so we can actually do our intended purpose". We are teaching our child that he needs to work and earn his way in life. No one is going to provide anything for him except him. If he doesn't have something, he is taught not to expect any one else to give it to him for free. He's not even allowed to charge school meals. If he loses his money or lunch, he doesn't eat. So much of the crap they pull with our children is absolutely counter productive to the teachings of our family. We give to charity and church, we do not view a tax payer funded institution as a charity. I would not go to a doctor that would expect me to bring my own aspirin or band aids, and some extra for the rest of the patients.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine. We never pay the extra fees, out of pure principle. If the school district wants to allow the government, state or federal, to control them and their money then they are responsible for how it's (mis)managed. I feel the teachers are to blame for most of the problems in the schools. No one but the teachers can right the problems of the schools. Instead of complaining about this or that, do something about it. No paper? No problem, do recess all day long. Instead of striking for more pay, strike to have the funds properly utilized. I agree with Howler. Teachers always whine about parents not paying or suppling pencils and they have to spend 500.00 for it themselves. That sucks, yes. I'm a mechanic and have spent 25k+ on tools, just so I can fix your car. Almost a years pay, just to do my job. I don't whine. I could find something else to do for a living. No one forces me to be a mechanic, just like no one forces teachers to teach. Stop spending your own money and hold your bosses accountable or quit. Can you imagine what soldiers would do if we expected them to provide their own bullets? Quick story. Hazelwood elementary school, Clarksville. 3rd grade, beginning of the school year open house. Walked through the door and right into the PTO table. They were telling me about the fund raisers for the kids and blah, blah. Then they let it slip that the new parking lot was paid for with last years fund raiser money. I almost came unglued. So, ever since then we have not paid a penny outside of taxes. I only send stuff for my child to use, no extra because the teachers are using the extra supplies to teach socialism to the children. They preach how we have to take all the supplies and share with the less fortunate. They call it community property and explain how the extra brought by some goes to the some that have none. Sorry. Done ranting. Just gets under my skin. Why do we allow the schools to operate this way I don't know. The teachers have the power to change it if they would stop worrying about pay and parking lots. I thought they taught because they "love it". They knew the pay sucked when they chose that field.

I got my NAUI certification while deployed to Haiti during UNMIH under the 101st. Our encampment medical officer was a master diver and instructor for NAUI. He certified us at the local hotel for the cruise ships in Cap-Haitien that had equipment for tourists to use. I loved it so much I dove nonstop after being ordered to Wheeler AAF in Hawaii for second reup. Loved it so much after three years of diving there lead me to ETS and become a certified commercial diver (ultrasonic, magnetic particle and dye-penetrant inspection of underwater structure specialty). Graduated from school ten years ago ready to dive and haven't been in the water since. Sometimes life takes a funny turn when you're not looking. I wouldn't change a thing, except I wish I could dive again. I've got all the gear, just no time. The next time I get wet, it will be here : http://www.2dive.com/btm.htm If you EVER have the chance to do it, DO IT! There is no explaining how awesome it is.

Back to my original question. How does a reporter publish an article in May with the information regarding Farrakhan being involved with inciting unrest, only for Farrakhan appear two months later? When he does appear in the publics eye, he is given the capacity and position to use his followers to roam the streets getting the locals in a frenzy? You know darn well that they aren't out there to stop vandels and jaywalkers. Now this CIA general steps forward and basically confirms the general premise of what the reporter was conveying. My tin foil hat hasn't been used in a long time, but this is too darn coincidental for me.

Let's say, for arguments sake that this guys contact is real. What would your response to brown shirted, TSA manned checkpoints be? Would this be the straw that broke the patriot's back? Attack and eliminate them? Bow down and obey? Stay home and cross your fingers?

I do believe you started that...I only picked on you for caliber because you were jokingly poking at your buddy about the 9mm being insufficient - Yeager is my Dad. He doesn't cut me any slack either. Suck it up. This is the reply I received from Kayla on their forums when I posted my review there (http://getoffthex.co.../m/492005117001). It is entirely true. I started the whole rib jabbing episode. It was totally consensual. This is why I was saying that a lot of people try to convey experiences without explaining the entire situation from all sides (much like myself). RobertNashville proved the whole point of going to this class and others like it. Find out how your gear, gun and mindset is going to perform under a stressful day. The store is great and the people are awesome I just wish they had more items on hand. They sell, mainly, what you need for their classes. Which of course makes good business sense. The training is great, the people are great, the price is right and the location is perfect.

Not sure what to think here. Never believed it until Chicago and Farrakhan popped up. Then I remembered. Article written May 8, 2012. Farrakhan news about him and his henchmen patrolling Chicago just a week ago. Makes you wonder.......a lot. What if the guy is legit? http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/46516

I did find the class enjoyable, thank you. Next time I will try to do better to be more "less enthusiastic" about my experiences so I don't appear to be presenting a plug for someone or something. I have been staring at this for a while now and I wasn't even going to respond to any of it and push this subject farther than it all ready has gone.....BUT the Force is weak within me. I do believe that a lot of the complaints that people have, have not even taken the class or have simply misconstrued information because of lack of elaboration from the attendees, such as myself. I can't even begin to effectively explain on a forum the feelings and situations that arise during a class. I will tell you this, any good natured "ribbing" that was done was almost entirely initiated by the students and not the instructors. I might not know very much about tactics and gun fighting but I do my best to wipe my mind clear and learn something, anything. Example: I've been a mechanic for 20 years. I thought I knew everything about changing tires (drawing my pistol); I met this other mechanic at my new job (instructor); He says "Hey why do you do it like that?" and I say "Because that's how I do it" and he says " try this way" and I say "Holy crap! That was better and more efficient!!"....... Point being this. When you think you have learned it all, you have lost the fight. I always tell any teacher or instructor to treat me like an idiot and show me all that you know. You never know when, even after 20 years, you might learn a better way to do things. You might not. If you do, great!! If you don't... hell I spent a weekend shooting with awesome folks and had a darn good time. Also, if you can't take "rib jabbing" or "frat boy" jokes or comments then, wow, I don't really know what to say to that. I would hate to be that guy that gets out of shape because he can't take empty, meaningless criticism from people he may never see again, ever. I suppose it's the military in me, or the fact I spent my life in a garage with men, that act like children. Plus, the ones that don't like the rib jabbing comments, or tom foolery are usually the ones that are not in the "group" and feel left out. Just my thoughts. Not liking a class (or anything you haven't tried yourself) is like saying you don't like Corvettes and have never driven one. I see and understand where you come from Reservoir Dog, thank you. I never intended for all this to happen.

I agree with you 100%. My co-workers have children that have cell phones and are constantly getting in trouble for it while in school. I understand personal responsibility on behalf of the child and all that but the parents are not good examples themselves and are not holding their children to a higher standard or consequence. I get tired of hearing them complain on and on about "Suzi and her phone this or Jimmy and his phone that"... I'm thinking grow a pair and take that thing and throw it in the toilet!! They retort with the usual response of "emergency this and what if that" and I say remember when you were a child? You didn't have a phone and you managed to make it to adulthood. Back then, parents use to talk to their children and have game plans and meeting places and code phrases for emergencies and children knew who to go to and how to get there. They were given curfews and guidelines and were trusted to follow them. When my son goes outside to play he knows the boundaries, he knows the rules and he knows when to be home. We don't say "go out and do whatever and I'll call you to find out where you are or who you’re with or when I want you to be home". That information was well know ahead of time. I think cell phones in the hands of children is an example of lazy parenting and lack of trust in your child. Bad things happen, they always have. There has been mass shootings (killings, disasters, etc.) and terrible turmoil all throughout history and yet we persevere. It wasn't until information could be easily disseminated that we really knew what was going on in the world. Your child will make it or they will not (only God knows that), but I think a good lesson that needs learned in life is being able to handle yourself and the situations you encounter without being able to call mommy at the first sign of trouble or indecision.

My son is 12 and a half. My wife and I have decided that he is going to grow up like us. No cell phone until he gets a job and pays for the entire bill himself (and car insurance too). If his behavior goes south, regardless of him paying for it, he will lose that privilege. So, no job, no phone. We are pretty old fashioned in my household. Cell phone is a no no but guns and slingshots are ok.

This was on Phil Valentine. It's a fake site leading you to buy a book. Yes, it sounds very believable that some crazy lefty would say crap like this.
