  1. I know right? That pesky Constitution gets in the way every time. How about everyone is innocent until proven otherwise? Do we need to violate one's right to be safe and secure in our persons in order to see if he might be, maybe, possibly committing a crime that can only be determined if you violate his rights? Let's say that person had committed any number of crimes then yes, check to see if he is a felon. BUT!!! In the state of Ohio it is NOT a crime to open carry and has been ruled by their own court system that simply open carrying a firearm alone does not warrant a crime or an offense to be detained over!! So this whole argument of "how do I know he is not a criminal" is moot unless you violate his rights to find out. According to most (not all) cops, that is OK because it's hard being LEO and we peasants just don't understand.
  2. Cops kill me with their whole"if you aren't a LEO, then you have no idea...blah blah blah". When I hear that line, I hear this instead "Those damn citizens' rights, why can't I just bust his skull now and if I'm wrong then I'll just release him and say sorry". How dare the common peasantry question my job (authority)? Doesn't he know he might be a bad guy? It's my job to determine if he might be or could possibly in the future do something bad, even though at the time he is not?
  3. Good quality Jack booted response. Cops always say "How Am I supposed to know if he's a criminal?". The answer is easy. When he commits a crime, arrest him. your philosophy is why don't we just stop him and find out if he is committing a crime? Why don't we just pull over everybody in a vehicle on the street to find out if they are driving with a suspended license?
  4. The internet is rife with instances of dispatchers ascertaining the situation from the caller informing the caller that a man has the right to open carry. They inform the caller that unless the man is actually committing a crime other than carrying a gun he is well within his legal rights.
  5. The problem with this statement is, Ohio is not like TN. It is NOT a crime to carry a gun openly. Therefore he was not in commission of any crimes at all. Thus, no need to ID himself or be detained in any fashion because Ohio has ruled repeatedly that carry a gun is not a reason for stopping someone.
  6. I promise you there is not any possible way the USPS mailman is keeping track of what you are receiving. He might know a few things that you might be getting but they deliver so much and help with different routes and can barely keep that straight, they are not tracking your shipments. They might speak if confronted directly but they are not logging anything. I do not know about FedEx or UPS. My FedEx guy doesn't care for me since I order tons of ammo and yelled at him while in my underwear for trying to run back to the truck before I could answer the door and sign for a package. UPS tries that same stunt and it really gets on my nerves. I'm paying for delivery, deliver it! I should not have to come get it from you.
  7. Received email saying my 10 mags have shipped today. They were ordered on 12/27.
  8. I open carry 90-95% of the time. I do my best to dress nicely and be clean looking. I do not walk around with a scowl or "go ahead and mess with me look" on my face. I make eye contact with just about everyone. I open doors for people and say "excuse me" and "good evening". In over three years of OC I have only great experiences with the people I have contact with. I have been able to give information about how to obtain a permit. I always be informative and not opinionated. I do notice the scared eyes from some sheep at times but that is out of my control. I have never had an encounter with police. I feel that I have helped more people, by being a good example and having correct information when asked, then have hurt. I am willing to sacrifice some personal, tactical advantage for the chance to be a good example of how guns in the public can be a positive thing. More often than not my comments from others are along this line...."I am glad to see a good guy with a gun, I wish more people would do it".
  9. A coworker of mine just handed me an email with news source saying that the un gun treaty was voted on and defeated by only 4 votes in the senate. Can anyone else verify that?
  10. OK, time to play devils advocate. I agree with most of the comments posted here. I understand the nature of the crime and most "sex offenders" are always going to commit twice or more. Why do we accept the fact that once they have been found guilty and did their time we get to label and persecute them for the rest of their lives? It's like their punishment never ends and the rules keeping changing and adding more and more to it? What if they were to do that for speeding or any other crime out there? If the crime is found to be that haness then shouldn't we make a stiffer penalty from the start?
  11. Most of the comments on the news channels are sheep blaming "domestic terrorists" or some sort of patriotic, militia nut job. This is gong to be interesting. Enjoy the ride as we dive farther down into a police state with little, to no freedoms.
  12. Not sure where to buy HTH brand locally. I ordered mine and had it delivered. The ingredients is the important part. Might be found at a dedicated pool store. I ordered two boxes of the 5-1lbs. bags and it cost like 55 bucks with shipping if I remember right.
  13. Go to USPS.com then select career at the bottom. Make a profile and apply. There will be 8 openings. Hours will more than likely be from 6pm to 230am. Two written tests and a hands on test. Then an interview. The written tests are no walk in the park. Brush up on most of your basic ASE first level test questions.
  14. Go to guns and leather and take the 2 day armed guard class they offer. Do not get additional training for baton, spray, etc. The company that hires you will tell you what additional training to get if they want you to have it. The armed license is the most important to have. It will get your foot in the door. Total cost for the license, with class, should be around 350.00 or less. I am un aware of any sponsor requirement. I did not have one when I first received my license and I did not have a sponsor when I renewed last year. Also, take the class using the gun you plan on carrying on the job. You can not carry a different gun type, make or caliber than the gun you take the class with. You must certify again if you wish to change to a different weapon of any kind.
  15. Is she for real? You mean to tell me that all the wars in the history of mankind, no one has ever had emotional trauma because we just discovered it? Is this lady for real? I almost choked when I read that. The stupidity of these people is simply astonishing.
  16. Taking a friend to the Fighting Pistol class at Tactical Response on the 18-19 of March. My second time, his first. I highly recommend saving for a course like this instead of a 6-8 hour class indoors elsewhere. Not implying the training is any less valuable with a different company. I think that environment really adds to the training when you aren't restricted to what you may only be "allowed" to do indoors.
  17. Not to rag on any sports nuts or athletes by any means but why do people embrace sports and the players like that? I have friends that don't know their own kids birth dates or their anniversary. They can't do basic math or speak a full sentence without mutilating the english language. Yet, they can recite every stat and game ever played by their favorite team or player. They get upset over draft picks but have no clue what is going on in their Country. I don't understand it either.
  18. Outstanding!! My good laugh of the day.
  19. People need to research the law better before they do crap like that. Long gun carry in TN is a no no.
  20. One other thing.....bleach only kills germs, bacteria, viruses and harmful organic entities.    It does nothing to eliminate chemical contamination.
  21. http://www.intheswim.com/Pool-Chemicals/Pool-Shock-and-Super-Chlorinating-Chemicals/HTH-Super-Shock-N-Swim/   Pool shock in powder form does not have a shelf life.  It will last forever or until it is added to water then becomes bleach.   BUT:  Make sure the active ingredient is Calcium Hypochlorite.  The HTH Super shock 'n swim listed in the link above is good shock for making bleach.  52% Calcium Hypochlorite, 48% Inert ingredients.    Some pool shock products do not have Calcium Hypochlorite, beware.     To make bleach from pool shock:   Add 1 heaping teaspoon of pool shock to 2 gallons of water (strained for large debris and dirt).  This will make 2 gallons of bleach.   To use bleach to purify water:   Strain for particulates first.   Add 1 part bleach to 100 parts water (intended to drink).  16 oz. of bleach to 12 1/2 gallons (1600 oz) of water.  This part is really up to you, you can purify water in whatever amount of water you want after you have already made bleach.   Let the drinking water sit after adding bleach for 4-5 hours uncovered and most of the bleach will evaporate out of the water.  To finish getting rid of the bleach smell when ready to drink simply transfer the water back and forth between two different containers to speed up bleach evaporation.
  22. Store bought bleach has a shelf life. Buy hth pool shock in 5 pounds bags, use the pool shock to make bleach. Then use that bleach to purify your water. One 5 pound bag of pool shock will make enough bleach to purify 128,000 gallons of water. Easier to store and you can barter with the pool shock while in powder form.
  23. Just placed an order (1206 pm 1-22-13). Tried to order more than one but they limited me to one 500 round quantity.
  24. You know, just when things seem bleak and pointless and you feel like throwing the towel in and becoming a sheeple......someone pulls you back to reality and reminds you of what and why, we do and fight, for the things we do. I needed this today, thank you.
