  1.   So wait, are you are saying guys in H1's don't want to offend?  No you really lost me.
  2. That must be what my neighbor does.  He floods us with smoke all summer.  Claims he is burning brush...but there are no trees around his house.  I assume he is a firebug and burning other peoples' brush.
  3. Definitely, and this was at the height of the anti-SUV "mania".
  4. The best bumper stick I ever saw was on a Hummer (the real kind...not that H2 BS) at Knob Creek in 1994.  It said "When the rainforests are gone you can wipe your ass on spotted owl".     I am sure I have posted this before, but whenever someone talks about stickers, its gets me to gigglin'.
  5. Ah, Mayor Dumplin's Municipal Badlands.     They should really consider moving the stop light cameras from west knox onto the greenways.  I mean, since they are about public safety rather than revenue, of course.
  6. I'm jealous. Handled one just like it at the NRA show and loved the trigger and feel. I'd like to sell my P250 and pick one up. If you don't mind, will you PM me the price and place you got it?
  7. My wife has been attaching hers to our cat's collar.  She's been competing with her mother and sister who are really blown away--not only by her extreme bursts of activity, but also by all the restful sleep she is getting.

  9.   Not to derail, but will those feed well in an AR?   Also, if there is no desire to suppress, I would agree completely on either 7.62x39 or 9mm for a short home defense gun.  If you want to suppress, 9mm will still work, but to get the good stopping power you need a barrel length that is likely going to put you supersonic.     The mag-wells are pricey, but you can get a modular lower/mag-well combo from MGI-Military that with two different mag-wells, can accommodate Colt SMG mags in 9mm, and/or AK Mags for 7.62x39.  They do make them for Glock Mags too when you can catch them in stock.  They used to make a 45 ACP mag-well for Grease Gun Mags too...been waiting on one of them since 2012.      I recently got my SBR stamp back on one of these.  I have mag-wells for standard AR mags, 9mm Colt SMG, and soon am getting an AK mag-well.  One stamp, but can run anything that takes any of those styles of magazines now as an SBR.     Lower: https://www.mgi-military.com/store/index.php?product_id=80&type=&category=20   Mag-wells: https://www.mgi-military.com/store/index.php?category=9
  10. Bushnell does a 1-8.5...also pricey, and heavy, but a nice scope nonetheless.  They can be found on sale for ~400 less than this link.   http://www.eurooptic.com/bushnell-elite-tactical-1-85x24-matte-mil-reticle-et18524.aspx
  11. I run an EOTech G33 Magnifier behind an Aimpoint CompM4.  At 100 yards, the dot covers about a 2 inch circle.  The thing is, without magnification, the dot still covers the same percentage of the target.  The dot doesn't change in relationship to the target, but you can see the target better.  You won't lose accuracy because you use a magnifier, you will gain because you can see the target better.  The Dot looks bigger because the target looks bigger...but they both grow by the same size.   It functions the same as a first focal plane scope where the cross-hairs cover the same percentage of the target regardless of which magnification you are using.
  12.   Well, I was in Kindergarten when the first Star Wars came out.  All the kids I went to school with loved it too.  So no.   Anyhoo...New trailer.   https://youtu.be/ngElkyQ6Rhs
  13. 1. Jar Jar was a the unfortunate outcome of a PC attempt at inclusion. His presence is worse than Vader's "NOOOOOOOOO" at the end of III. Both are despicable. 2. Comedy is fine. What is funnier than Admiral Piet giving the nod to whomever is off scene to collect Ozzel's cooling corpse after he is "relieved" by Vader? Maybe it is funnier that an entire legion of the Emperor's best troops were routed by a tribe of teddybears. 3. Screw Greedo. 4. The Imperial Walker attack on on Hoth was not CGI. There is nothing better. The Legion of Alderaan fought bravely. 5. III was the best of the prequels, which is to say it is 5th in the live action Star Wars universe, just behind the Star Wars Muppets Special. Look, there is a strong theory out there that Lucas is pretty awful left to his own devices and that any time he directs these moves, disappointment will follow. The only reason the "A New Hope" was great is because his wife at the time really ran the show. Empire and Jedi were not directed by him. Not coincidentally, they are the best...in spite of the teddybears.
  14.   I am with you.  I believe hunting deer sized game for sport with a subsonic 300 BLK to be unethical.  The energy imparted by 220 Grain bullet at ~1050 FPS is similar to a 9mm Luger. Yes, it will likely kill the animal, but a clean kill is unlikely.     In my youth I saw a deer shot up with 22LR bullets, so there are assholes out there.
  15. Did anyone swing by the IWI display and check out the Galils?     They had three, one was a pistol length model, that is coming out first.  The second was a little longer but had a side-folding "sig brace" style cuff of their own design.  Lastly, they had the full size carbine.     They were all in 7.62X39, but the rep said they were doing 308 soon, and 5.56 after that.     The middle model with the side folding brace was "teh hotness".     I have never handled one before, but was really impressed with the fit and finish.  They looked and felt much more substantial than an AK, and the Mags fit in very well.     This is from their Website.    http://www.iwi.us/Galil/ACE-Pistol-GAP39SB.aspx   Does anyone have any experience with these?   If this has been discussed before, apologies.  Also, if this should be in Handguns or Rifles, please move it.  I didn't know which way to go.
  16. You think anybody thinks I'm a failure because I go home to Starla at night? Forget about it!
  17. I saw those at the NRA show, Ammo-Up was the name I think.  I started to buy one, but then thought about the gravel bit.  I always wind up shooting in gravel it seems, so I decided to pass.  I think it would work pretty well on grass, though, as long as it is mowed pretty well.
  18.   I really like the size, but the trigger was just as bad as an LC9...not sure how glock made that happen on a striker fired gun.  I tried a few different ones at the show to see if it was just something with the first one I picked up, but they all felt that way. The LC9s has a MUCH better trigger.
  19. The wife and I will be there all day tomorrow, and maybe Saturday.
  20.  Damn, is that Elvis' pistola?   As for the big yellow safe, Superior had a fairly sporty woman showing that thing on in Houston.  Very easy on the eyes.  The safe is nice too.
  21. I bet the "witness" was hiding the fact they were recording for a while, but at some point it had to be obvious.  That is really weird that the officers didn't even acknowledge the person recording them.  I am sure tunnel vision an all that.   I think more will come out on this, but based on the video alone, I think the officer has to be charged.
  22.   I have found that the 175 Federal GMM factory loads group tighter than the 168's in my guns.
  23. I always look forward to the FN booth. Also, always go by the Glock booth to see Michelle Viscusi and Tori Nanaka.
