  1. Was that a cop walking around during the last little bit of the video?  If so, he was very passive.
  2. I should also have pointed out that I have been trying to get a rear sight for my mini for 2 years.   When I first started trying to find a new rear sight in early 2011, this link:  http://www.midwayusa.com/product/330595/ruger-rear-sight-assembly-ruger-mini-14-stainless-models said it was expected in May of 2011.  Ruger's website says the same.  I finally just sold the rifle (with no rear sights) but still keep up with the backorder status just out of curiousity.    This is one of the main reasons I would be scared of Mini.
  3. Fixed or folding?  You can find the folding Magpul MBUS rears for right at $50. Troy makes a fixed rear that DVOR.com just ran a $50 special on, but they are usually $65 on amazon.
  4. We are one mass shooting away from going through this all over again.  Sooner or later, it will happen.  We live in a country with more than 300 million people.  I pray to God it doesn't, but there is evil out there.  Lanza is proof of that, and there are more like him.
  5. Having owned both, AR all the way.  Mini's are very nice guns, but they can't compete with the modularity of the AR.   Also consider this, untold millions of magazines have been made for AR-15's.  Mini-14's have a proprietary mag that can be a lot harder to find.   The only advantage I can think of for the Mini is the one you don't want, which is the folding stock.
  6.   Yeah, I got a few of those before Sandy Hook.  I knew of the RG stampings, but didn't know if that meant they were made by RG, or if they can be added later, kind of like lower receiver roll marks.  I know Palmetto's CHF barrels are made by FN, but they are stamped PSA...so didn't know if the same applied for BCG's.
  7. FA .22's are fun til your eyes swell shut from the filthy smoke pouring out of them.  Then cleaning your gun is like scraping off burnt pancake syrup.  Who am I kidding, I will do it again...and regret doing it, again, and again.  Kind of like hangovers.
  8. Are they an actual manufacturer?  Anyone know?
  9. If it said "in-stock", I would expect 4 to 6 weeks.  That sucks, I know.  But they do seem to come through.  I am in 4 weeks to a BCG now, but I am only paying $115 for it.  Of course, If I never get it, it won't be a good deal.  I recently got an upper receiver that I ordered 6 weeks earlier from them, but they didn't charge me until it shipped, and the price was pre-panic.
  10.   Well, remember there are three types of jobs...good, fast, and cheap.  You can have any combo of two.
  11. Booze is an important part of the human reproductive experience for a variety of reasons.
  12. Put my new 30 cal rifle can on my 300 Blackout, and changed sight set up. The old setup is on the previous page. EXPS2-2 EoTech, Primary Arms Long Eye Relief 3x magnifier, and a longer free float rail to overlap with the can. Acutally, this pic is a little old now as I have OD Green grip, stock, and magazine now instead of the Foliage Green pictured. I put the Foliage stuff on my piston 5.56 gun. Edit: Sadly, I lost it in the lake today when my trireme capsized.
  13.   I suspect no one was hot back then.  One thing is certain, they all smelled horribly.
  14. I believe PaleTiger13 is a fan, based on his Avatar.
  15. Those damn ninjas again.  If you'll recall, David Carradine was reported to have died via auto-erotic asphyxiation, but his attorney suggested something more odious...  http://gawker.com/5282753/was-david-carradine-murdered-by-ninjas
  16. I cannot forsee a time when we will be able to scrap the NFA process as much as it is not what the Founding Fathers intended.  How many times when arguing against a semi-auto ban do we have to clarify that they are not full auto.  We can't say that with the NFA.  But the Hughes amendment should be challenged because I believe we COULD get it struck down.   I think we CAN get suppressors removed from the list with an aggressive letter writing campaign. They are safety equipment, nothing more.
  17. I've never had an electric that worked any better than buttered toast.
  18. But...but...Joe Biden says she should fire two blasts from her double barrel! I agree with you. It isn't helpful to beclown new shooters at the range.
  19.   It is called "Sanctity of The Victim".  It is a major theme in Atlas Shrugged.  http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/sanction_of_the_victim.html
  20.   And yet the last Aero I had fit a BCM upper like they were seperated at birth.  I mean absolutely perfectly.    The slop you describe above would be considered a feature if it were an AK!
  21. All that white privelege didn't get Romney elected, nor McCain...nor Hillary, and she is married to a black man!
  22. I have not tried the grip, but I love the medium sized charging handles (mod 4).  It does make support hand charging/clearing motions much easier and it seems to avoid binding the charging handle the way other oversized latches can.  I am not sure if that is a change in the pivot point or what.
  23. Check out Vikings on History Channel. It is really good. Also on Sunday night.
