I love the idea, but the weight scares me.

Being a long time lake-goer and back yard swimmer, I am very sensitive to bad spring and summertime weather.  I tend to keep a log.  The last three July 4ths have been shit in East TN.  This year was a total washout.  Last year was sunny, but very cool.  Froze to death in the pool.  And the year before was a washout.     In fact, the last 3 summers have been garbage if you spend time in the water.  It has not been hot and humid at all.  When it has been hot, it hasn't been very humid.  You know it when you come out of he water and are immediately freezing.  For the last 3 years, the second half of June has been the best weather of the year, then garbage in July and August.  There are occasionally nice days through the week, but the weekends are lousy.   We had the 2 weeks of hot weather this year, but again, it wasn't as humid as it was reported according to my gauges.  I think the weather people have a tendency to overstate the extremes.     It feels like 110!  I try to tell my friends that while we are all wet and shivering.

Well, July 3rd purchase, but in the spirit of the 4th. I have been eyeing a Sig 320 for a while, but hadn't come accross the right deal. Just happened to go by Smokey Mountain Knife Works on the morning of the 3rd, and there she was! P320 9mm Compact in FDE, with tritium night sights for $499+TICS and Tax. I hadn't been seeing the SigLight night-sights versions for a price like this, so jumped on it. They have them normally around $560 I think, but are running a sale on them while supply lasts. I have only put about 20 rounds of junk Wolf ammo through it, but really like the trigger. It came with a FOBUS style holster and two 15rd mags. I had bought a 250C for my wife a few years ago, and in spite of the long trigger pull she shot it pretty well. I think she will really like shooting this one with the much shorter striker trigger.

I believe there are a lot of F-15s in the reserves.  They are still among the deadliest Air Superiority jets in the world.  About the only thing that can hang with them are other US Jets.  Yeah, there is the Sukhoi-35s which is a strong performer, but there are probably only a dozen of them.

That is what I would call a full-house load.  It is FMJ, so not going to expand much, but penetration shouldn't be an issue!

What is the listed velocity of the ammo? If it is a strong 10mm load, It should be around 1200 FPS at that weight, I believe. I dont really fool with any 10mm that isn't Buffalo Bore or Double Tap, so I am not familiar with it. Most commercial loaders just power 10 to about the power of 40 Short&Weak.

I know he's gone, but he has so many out there like him.     He thinks training should be required, but free.  So then, when the Gov decides to have only one class a year and limit it to 20 people, all of whom donate to the party in charge, how is it said that your rights have not been infringed?   And before anyone says "slippery slope" this is essentially what they have done in New York.     The permit system we have now is--at BEST--a bad compromise.  Hopefully we will get Const Carry before the Dems change the electorate in this state through immigration to one that suits them better.

  Wow, we have turned this into a 10MM thread.  Sorry about that, I think I derailed my own thread!  I will add that I think most people shooting 10mm these days, myself included, are using the Full-power loads from companies like Doubletap and Buffalo Bore.  They are powered like the original Norma load, and are really a handful...but that is the whole point!   I run a Glock 20 with a 6inch Longwolf barrel and a muzzle brake and heavier springs.  It is a handful, but is a grin-maker.   I had a 29 back in the 90's, but let it go.  My 20 I have been shooing since about 93.

Well, my wife is a teacher.     Boys are being taught to never be caught without hand sanitizer, that it's good to play with dolls and that they should sit down to pee.     Girls are being taught to carry chain wallets.

The democrats are willing to trade some seats for gun control.  The only question is how many.  They had a LOT of support after Newtown, but Republicans controlled the house at the time and the new session would be seated before anything happened because of timing.  We escaped by the skin of our teeth.   When the democrats manage to make it so that illegal aliens can vote, or legalize them for the same reason, you will see unprecedented gun control...and eventually an outright ban.  Once the democrats (and complicit republicans) have no fear of the ballot, everything is lost.     I grow concerned when I hear gunnies talk about how great everything is right now...open carry, all the CCW laws in place, a seemingly friendly Supreme Courty.  Pride before The Fall, and all that.

  I feel like an arrow would cause excess odor.  Probably a good piece of advice.   As for a bow though, I am 41, and hadn't shot since I was a kid, and not a ton then.  I have had surgery on both of my shoulders, so wanted to get something that would be fun and help me "rehab".   I got a 40lb Martin recurve from Sportsman's guide for less than a $100 and have shot the hell out of it.  40lbs was DEFINITELY enough to get me a good work out.  I may jump up to a 55 or 60lb next year if this one ever gets too easy for me, but I have been enjoying shooting it, and have been getting routine bullseyes at 35 yards.

Those are challenging to cook.  I like a filet rare, but a strip medium rare just to tenderize all the tissue a bit.  Getting the strip side cooked enough without overcooking the filet side is beyond me.
