OP asked about zombie weapons. Those aren't zombies on TWD, they're walkers. Zombies don't exist in that world.
-
At the NRA show, they told me they will have a titanium QD version of that suppressor out by year's end. I wish I could get the paperwork started on it now! I run a 10.5 Alpha like Lumber_Jack, for the same reason. I had an early AAC barrel in 10, but I had a squib and ruptured it. I decided I would use a cheaper barrel from now on because of that possibility.

Man, Walmarts are already loaded with zombies. Imagine what it would be like to have to go in there with the lights out!

"These two men are literally exploding on one another!" --Tony Schiavone (commenting on pretty much any WCW wrestling match in the 90's) I am peeved at how "great" has been watered down. "Yeah, that Taco Bell Grande was great!". No...Charlemagne was great. Alexander The Great was great. Great means a lot more than really good. Also, "Ridiculous"...as in "Angie’s List has ridiculously reliable reviews!" Really? So reliable as to be deserving of ridicule? You keep using that word... Lastly, I have recently been using "what" in place of "that", just for kicks. "That man over there--what's vomiting by the dumpster--is drunker than a football bat."

All those katanas...I am as big a fan of the Japanese sword and bushido as they come, but those things are going to look like twisted rebar a few weeks into such an event. The real ones take a butt-load of attention to care for...they rust like MOFOs! If you are unhappy about how much maintenance an AR requires, you are going to hate a katana.

My current inventory (well, before the unfortunate canoeing accident) 1. SCAR 17S (suppressed) 2. HK USP 45 (suppressed) 3. +5 Holy Avenger (two handed) I don't buy that .22LR ####. You can kill street thugs with a well placed shot to the brain too...but you don't see people advocating them as the best choice for SD.

Global Warming? This has been the shittiest, coldest spring I can remember in years. Yeah, yeah, I know...that proves global warming. AGW is like art. Anything is caused by AGW. I remember a couple of years ago one of he greenie types proclaimed "Global Warming is even worse than we orignally thought because the changes aren't as dramatic as we predicted". Noodle that one for a minute.

I have a friend with a SPARC and he is happy with it. It looks like a pretty nice piece.

What would be a good scope for my FN?
atlas3025 replied to NRA's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I had a Vortex Viper on my SCAR 308, and I really like it. I moved it to my 300 Win Mag though. It is a nice scope, but a little pricey coming in around $600. Take a look at the Nikon Monarch too. I had one of those on a Rem 700 308 I had, and it worked great. It had the side focus AO and a BDC reticle. -
How are we able to carry our long guns to the gun shows? Is it because they are unloaded?

Clearly you haven't been brought up to speed on the "Twilight" mess.

HK USP 45. The only handgun I've ever loved.

It is an interesting concept, but I don't believe that enforcement of the law prevents wrong-doing in most cases. I believe that by-and-large law abiders do so because of the moral consequences of wrong-doing, more than the legal consequences. But the movie looks like it could be good entertainment. I have only seen the first Paranormal Activity movie, but I pee'd a little when I did.

I'd take one.

Should be an awesome show. I saw Megadeth with Slayer and Anthrax a couple of years ago...they were all great but Megadeth lit it up. Iron Maiden should be superb. Count me jealous.

Is there a big difference in the cost of a top of the line, or at least upper mid-grade AR-10 and a SCAR? I know you could get an entry level AR-10 pre-panic for about $1k out the door. But to get one with the some of the features to mimic a SCAR was probably closer to $2k or more. SCAR's were in the $2500 range pre-panic (unless you wanted the-less accurate FDE variety). Budget has a lot to do with it, and the OP didn't mention one, so $500 (or whatever the difference may be now) could be huge. I can never give too much cost saving creedence to the multiple upper approach with an AR type rifle. Extra uppers don't stay "extra" for long. :)

Besides being lighter, more accurate, monolithic, and a piston gun, nothing I suppose. I started to go that route with mine, but mags are becoming available. I got one in yesterday from OMB for $30.00 shipped. I have 7 that I don't have more than $35 each in. Plus converting FAL mags is easy with a dremel, and they are still dirt cheap. I like the PMAG option a lot though, just haven't been desperate enough to go in that direction.

The SCAR 17S is lighter than all the rest, in some cases by far (2 pounds lighter than the SOCOM). In my experience it is more accurate than the M1A models. I have had a SOCOM 16 and a full-sized M1A, and it shoots tighter groups than either of them. It shoots TULA Steel ammo under 1.5 inches at 100. I shot my SCAR and another fellow's REPR on the same day side by side with quality ammo and they averaged the same group size (.75 MOA that day with 168 FED GMM), except the REPR was about 4 pounds heavier. I would like to have an AR10 to play with, but I wouldn't trade the SCAR for any 308 battle rifle. There are cheaper alternatives out there, but I don't think there are better alternatives. I picked mine up for $2500 In Feb 2012. The prices are settling on them now. Alot of people spent over $5000 for them during the scare. There are a lot of great 308 choices out there right now, but I would argue that as a battle rifle, the SCAR is the cream of the crop.

Which causes me to wonder if it is the same thing as KY Jelly, or ultrasound gel for that matter.
-
I've been using ultrasound jelly in my 45 can. Seems to work well, but I wonder if the hand sanitizer lasts longer? I would think Alchohol would exaporate quicker. I have heard good things about wire pulling grease. Is it water based or petroleum?

Man, some of the leftists out there are really beclowning themselves by celebrating her death. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2305760/Margaret-Thatcher-dead-George-Galloway-leads-chorus-celebration-left.html

I belive it is people who are not working or are not looking for work. So of course that second part has to be "WAG'd".
