  1. Sgt Stryker on Fnforum.net is making a similar receiver out of polymer.  I thought about trying one of these or his, but I have never really had much trouble finding mags for mine.  I have 8 mags and haven't paid more than $45 for any of them.  If I had another semi-auto 308 that used PMAGS, then I would be temped to go that route for commonality's sake.  But I don't think cost savings is much of an incentive since PMAGS in 30 cal are still around $20.  I would have to buy a lot of PMAGS to break even on spending the $400 for the lower.   But again, if you had an AR-10 style rifle too, then maybe commonality would be nice.
  2. In the book, Dizzy doesn't make it much past the first page...and is a dude.
  3. I hate to accuse...but I think there has been a lot of the going on...and I have seen so many reports of Walmarts in other parts of the state starting to return to normal, but that hasn't been the case in regards to ammo in the Knoxville Area for sure.    I believe that the 3 box limit is not imposed uniformly by some walmart employees.
  4. Lol, so you accept the Zombie apoc, but get tripped up on the logistics?    Look, as bad as an adaptation as WWZ was, it was still an entertaining action movie.  If you want to talk about blowing an adaptation, read, then see, Starship Troopers.
  5.   Lol, I HAD a SOCOM.  It became a SCAR.   But who doesn't want to find burried treasure!?  Even if it turns out to be worthless...it doesn't matter, because you would never want to sell it anyway!
  6. My only gripe about the Halls Wal-Mart is that they still have little to no ammo since Sandy Hook.  I think the staff there is involved in its quick disappearance from the shelves.  Since summer 2012, they had a call list for the 420 Round Fed Ammo cans of 5.56.  In february, they actually called me to tell me it was in, but I didn't answer because I was on the phone with my mother (and didn't recognize the number calling in.)  I called it back 10 minutes later and got Wal-Mart's switchboard, so immediatly drove down there thinking that perhaps that is why they called.    When I got to the sporting good's dept, there was no ammo at all.  I asked the guy behind the counter if they had called people on their list.  He said yeah, so I told him I was one of the ones he called, but missed it.  He said something like "oh, well, hang on, I can at least help you out a little" and he reached under the counter and pulled out a 100 round pack of federal and sold it to me.    So for whatever reason, they had stacked ammo under the counter and were telling people they were out of stock.  Maybe they were just trying to ration a bit, but I have not seen another round of 223 there since then.

    SOCOM 16

Don't think for a minute the SOCOM won't reach out to 500 yards and beyond.  Mine shot right around 1.5 MOA with decent ammo.  Match grade tightened up a little.  168 Gr SMK's over 46 Varget will get around 2600 FPS out of a 16 inch barrel.  You would need some sort of scope for precision work.  The front blade sight has a tritium insert, which is nifty, but it is on the thick side.
  8.   I don't think Walt even asked about the money...Jack just said he would tell him where it was to bargain--and Walt shot him, which was perfect.
  9. For anyone insterested, Wal-Mart in Halls (Knoxville) has a Remington 700 AAC in 300 Blackout. I have one and they are really neat rifles. They have a 16 inch threaded bull-barrel and Hogue over-molded stock. Wally's price is $677, which is very good.

    SOCOM 16

Very good price on a great gun.
  11. I thought it was a great finish.  I can't think or a better way...it was all very fitting.  There was caper action...the trunk gun...it would have been totally out of character for WW to run in Rambo style and mow everyone down.  There was so much catharsis, except for Jr...we won't get to see his when he turns 18.    It is the best TV series I have ever watched.
  12. Her books are outstanding...and funny as all get out.
  13. Is it getting good reviews? I have played all of the MW and MC series, and have been playing the tabletop game for years.
  14.   Has all the violence and conflict left you in a "granite state"?
  15. Some of the early webisodes with Walt and Badger teaming up were pretty funny.  It was from back when the show was a comedy.
  16. I hope Badger and Skinny Pete are involved.
  17. I'm in for a lower.    I would like an upper as well, pending the price.
  18. Maybe the Pig is for Gray Matter?  Far-fetched I know...but more likely than Hank being alive.   And I know a lot think the Ricin Cig is for Lydia...but does Walt really have a beef with Lydia, at least that he knows of?   Of course, perhaps more is revealed in the finale and he finds out Lydia wants Skyler dead...but at this point, I don't think he has any reason to go after Lydia.
  19. Odenkirk and David Cross did Mr Show on HBO in the 90's. it was great. This is my favorite. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u2XlSXcwJ3o
  20. Again, this is the best show I have ever watched...and that was the best episode of the series, IMO.    It made me sick to my stomach to watch it.  Hank and Gomie were awful, but the fallout in the family was just unbearable.  I suspect for anyone whose father has made a mistake that changed the way you looked at him, that was extremely tough to watch.
