I'd like to think you're right on that one, but historically, Nations do not often tend come to their senses and realize they have become too "progressive", then self-correct back to their traditional values. They tend to collapse altogether, or are conquered. Maybe the Former USSR is an exception? I don't know that Putin is all that different than a "Premier".

Well sure it is conjecture, and speculation. If you are right, and you may be...I don't think a conservative will ever win the Presidency again.

Hey Aubarn- Talent wins over "strength of schedule" every time!!

Up until the last play, I thought for sure FSU was going to lose both the First BCS Championship Game, and the last. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1998_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_season -
I doubt that the entire 60 million that voted for McCain in 08 voted for Romney in 2012...I bet some of the 4 million that didn't vote for Sauron this time around are probably in that Romney number. I don't know that there were enough McCain voters sitting out (or even voting for Sauron this time), but I bet there were quite a bit. It may have been closer...it also have made a difference in the swing states. I do think that the Romney did nothing to inspire his prospective voters...and that does matter.

Relax guys. The media will pick our candidate for us.

I know what some are saying. I am the same way. Every time I get the flu shot, I seem to get sick shortly thereafter...and my shoulder hurts from the shot too. I seem to do better without the shot. Not shitting on medicine or vaccines, but the flu shot just doesn't seem to work for me. More power to those for whom it does! For that matter I don't know if I have ever had "The Flu". I mean i have had fevers and puking and joint aches...feel like I am going to die, but can't remember ever being sick with it for more than 3 days. I think a lot of people think they have had "the Flu", when they really had something lesser.

I have a Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10 x 44. It has the illuminated reticle. They are really nice scopes with great glass. I think I paid around $600 for it? I think you'd benefit from more magnification, though, as Zombies suggested.. You can also get the matched mil ret and mil adjustments, or MOA/MOA, I believe. They have shims so you can set a zero stop. Mine is NOT FFP, but I think that is in an option. You can get a lot of scope for your budget. The Nikon Monarch's are really nice too and are a little less expensive than the Vortex. They can be had with side parallax adjustment which is nice.

Ah, so the gun show has nothing to do with it, then. Its more of the "Private Property loop hole.

Just as an anecdotal. On Saturday at the Chilhowie show, I saw "The Gun Show Loophole" shot all to pieces. A woman right in front of me tried to buy a gun from a dealer and failed the background check with an outstanding felony. Someone from the dealer's table slipped quietly out and alerted the police who respectfully and quietly escorted the woman and her friend from the building. Not as exciting as what happend 2 years ago at the same show (shoplifters caught with 6 guns, dealer shoots self in hand, etc) If I had my phone on me I would have snapped a pick (with faces blurred, of course) just to use as material against the gun show decriers.

I have SCAR 17 that I will take to the grave with me. My buddy has an FNP 45 that shoots like a dream, which has me looking for an FNX 45 Tac next. I currently have a USP 45 Tac...and just not sure I can justify both! Of course, I have like 4 AR's...so justification hasn't mattered before, lol.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket...but WOW...the trucks and their drivers are incredible!

I thought it was great. Yeah, there is a lot of stuff in it not in the book. The LOTR trilogy was the same way...but come on, did you want an hour of Tom Bombadil? Rarely can any book be moved directly to film without some changes in the screen play. What works in books doesn't always work so well in movies. It is a pretty faithful adaptation. Not as close as LOTR was, but THe Hobbit needs more help IMO than LOTR did. Perhaps he will make The Silmarillion next. Not sure how to do it...but it would be great. Frankly, to me, the original Star Wars Trilogy and The LOTR are the most magical and engrossing bodies of work I have ever seen in film. Yes, there is silliness in both of them, but taken as a whole, they are beautiful. Any of those six movies (and The Hobbit is close) can stop me in my tracks and get me stuck in front of the TV at any time (The Battle of Hoth? The Battle of Helm's Deep? Which is better?) Of course the greatest single work of all time is the 1986 Documentary, The Highlander.

The Troy one piece rails are great too. Much narrower than the Midwest rails. They have qd holes machined as we'll. They are very solid. They also come in fde if that is your thing. This may be a repost, but Walmart in Oak Ridge is running 20% off Bolt Actions and Shot Guns (no AR's). Of note is the Rem 700 AAC-SD in 300 Blackout. Normally $677, but I believe with discount you should get out the door for less than $610. They had one on the shelf 10 minutes ago. They did verify for me that it was included in the sale. The sale is through Sunday.

I played with one of those at the NRA convention this year, and it looked really impressive. But for some reason I was more drawn to their .270 Win version...the nice thing was that during the Banic, 270 was the only caiber you could find at walmarts!

Maybe a single action for monster calibers is a better idea. Horrible story. Prayers for her family. -
SCAR 17 and don't look back...or failing that, another semi-auto 308 that's good to at least 600 yards and is light enough to scoot with. Ruger SR762 looks really nice. No matter what SHTF scenario you plan for, the real problem will be the assholes who want what's yours. Make your you have a range advantage.

I love them through a supressor. For a handgun round for that purpose, it can't be beat. With 9mm, its hard to find subsonic ammo...and if your barrel is a little too long, even with subs it will crack. With a 45, all you gotta do is find 230s and not worry about the rest.
-
Any update on this?

There is more to worry about in the zombie apoc than just zombies!

How you gonna beat the governor with a 22?

Ammo must be coming down in price. While I was at Knob Creek this weekend I saw a fellow crank off several 15 second bursts from the minigun.
