I try to name my pets after characters from the movie "Platoon". I'd go with Barnes or Elias.

Could one pig hunt from that?

I have kryloned my SCAR, decided I didn't like it, stripped it off, then kryloned it again. Just don't get paint in your operating system. Express yourself!

The PWS brakes work really well. That is the same style that comes on the SCAR 308, and the recoil is very mild. I can also attest to the effectiveness of the Miculek. No one will want to be beside you at the range with either of those two.

Fewer Wal-Mart ammo resellers.

Not sure about voodoo, but palmetto sells cold hammer forged light profile fn barrels from time to time. I have one and they are awesome! This also a fantastic barrel. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2684573824/daniel-defense-barrel-ar-15-556x45mm-nato-lightweight-contour-1-in-7-twist-16-hammer-forged-chrome-lined-chrome-moly-matte-pre-ban?cm_vc=ProductFinding

I prefer to think of her as "Mayor Dumplin'". -

I bought a micro tech combat troodon last year at knob creek for $400, and love it. I have not been able to collapse it. Pricey, but a very nice piece. -
Lol, I can't do it when it counts. But thanks! I love this caliber. Its so easy to shoot well.

Finally, after months of gathering parts, my TGO build is complete...well nearly, need a better scope. It is a 6.5 Grendel with a 20" Shilen Barrel (threaded by Law Enforcement Sales, Thanks Mike!) on the TGO upper and lower. Rock River 2 stage NM Trigger, Magpul PRS, Harris Bipod, Ergo Grip, Burris PEPR mount and a junky BSA 6-24x44 Scope, which works ok. I just got it all together last week, and took it to the John Sevier Range in Halls on Sunday. Just shooting a 100 yards off the bipod, but I'm thrilled! I think it is a keeper. I was shooting the factory Hornaday 123 A Max load. The upper left 3 shot group was while I was sighting it in, then the 5 shot group in the bullseye was immediately after that. The single hole in the TWRA logo was the last round of the day. I was just trying to hit the circle. I don't think I am capable of shooting much better than that. I think the rifle is better than me!

Palmetto runs some rally good deals on m16 a4 kits. Cold hammer forged 1:7 barrels made by FN? Yes please! They run deals like this from time to time. http://www.slickguns.com/product/blemished-psa-chf-20-556mm-17-rifle-length-a2-profile-w-bcg-charging-handle-41999

Your in North Dakota? For 30 cal....why not 300 Win Mag? If you are shooting over 1000 yards (which is much more likely in ND I think) it's going to beat the pants off either of the other two. Between 308 and 30-06, I would agree with wk05. 308 is going to give you more options and the increased potential with the extra case capacity for 30-06 is not huge. Good luck!

They have done a good job head faking the comic crowd lately. There is a point in the comic when Carl offs a younger boy because he kills his own twin during play...basically for the same reason Lizzie kills Mika. They don't see consequences of death because the dead come back as walkers. When it became apparent that Lizzie was mentally defective, I told my wife that Carol (Carl) would have to kill Lizzie to protect the group just as Carl did the boy in the comic. Then Lizzie seemed to "get it" when she defended Mika against the burnt walkers...at which point I told my wife...we'll, maybe they aren't going the comic route...then a minute or two later...Lizzie has the bloody knife...doh! Anyway...the second half of this season has been the best since season 1 IMO. The first half sucked though. Something about the whole prison/gov arch just was a huge turn off for me.

Hopefully he will be thrice-damned, spending eternity roasting in the flatus that issues forth from the haunches of Asmodea...after being drawn through an impossibly small hole, then hollowed out and used as a condom by Praximas The Thorn-cocked.

I like the show. It is produced by Ronald Moore, who was the man behind the reimagined Battlestar Galactica a few years ago on Syfy. It was absolutely superb. He also did a lot of work on a Deep Space Nine. His shows tend to be very good. Also his appearance on last year's Battlestar episode of Portlandia was hysterical.

I'd post it on Armslist...but then I can be an ass-hole. -
BTW, a local gun and leather company had some of their swag in the episode. http://www.wallsofthecity.net/

We'll if you raise rabbits you can use them.

Hoping Abraham can bring me back into the show. His arch was great in the books.

You'll need a pillowcase to catch it.

Go Isles! And good luck on your escape from New York! -
What about the dog-shootin' door-kickers whose warrant was for the neighbors? Can we wish it on them?

I meant "you'd want" as in "one would want"...sorry for the confusion. I am with you. SCAR's are not overpriced in my opinion at all. At least not at the current marketprice. I was just saying the Ruger looks strong.
-
The Ruger SR762 is about the same weight (maybe even a hair lighter), has a hammer-forged barrel, gas piston operated...Its looks and feels like an outstanding alternative to the SCAR. They can be had for around $1700. I don't know how accurate they are. I wouldn't trade my SCAR for one, but it is a seriously nice rifle and has all the features I think you'd want. The folding stock on the SCAR is the lone clearly better feature IMO. But the Ruger doesn't have a single better feature than the SCAR, except for price. I mean I guess you could say that accepting PMAGS is a plus, and I suppose it is...but its not like there is a universally accepted 308 battle rifle mag, and I have at least 10 SCAR mags that I didn't pay more than these other guys for. Mags are not hard to find anymore. And with a slight mag modification, FAL mags work in them too. You can't get more plentiful than FAL mags.
