  1. I have my sons back pack w/frame and 2 man tent, and might have a few small sleeping bags we used for my son. I willl see what else if you are interested. They will probably do some camping soon but it depends on the troop, ours started first year which got him hooked. PM me if interested and I will dig around this weekend to see what I have.
  2. I appreciate the experience given here but that and the opinions had me almost wishing I had saved the money for the new patriarch reel I have been wanting atleast until I got finished yesterday. The edges came out better than I expected and it only took about an hour an a half to do 6 blades and that included a CS machete and 3 of the blades had pretty good nics out of them. I took the advice and kept the water handy but never really needed it except for a double edge point I was a bit weary of messin up which was the one that took the longest, for an old german bayonet it was very light and some hard metal that had the blade messed up from before I bought it with the edge to far over, wavy and getting the double point the way I liked it took some patience. The amount of time I saved on these was worth the expense and am not even half done and the edges are well worth it. Thanks for all the comments.
  3. pretty much figure if I cant do it with my hands its not worth doing.
  4. You are the first person I have seen to say put the cutting edge up, would seem kind of dangerous, maybe with practice I guess. I really dont have any real expensive blades like alot of you here and dont have the time to get an edge on all my blades with a stone, I am the original tool guy in my world and figured would just be something else to play with and hopefully get a wicked edge on alot of old knives that havent been sharp in a long time.
  5. kinda figured, I got the belts today and first thing put the leather with green compound on and what a difference on my recon 1, thought it might be tough with the tanto blade but was no biggie and it brought it back to new if not better. I have a home made big ol thick machete that was given to me and put it across 4 or 5 belts and has a great edge so far, especially since I started out with an almost round edge and only took a few minutes. Will definately take some getting used to but I do like the idea of a easily aquired wicked edge.
  6. Is that with long guns also?
  7. a while back someone posted this video here I liked it so thought would try it. I got the 1" x 30" sander on ebay and have ordered several belts. Cant wait to tear into an old piece of knife to see if I can bring back to life.
  8. wow I have never seen the sign and have gone there a bunch and try to look, but I usually go in thru a store front then enter the mall and I carry an xd 40 with tank top most all summer and may even print some, until I see a proper sign where ever I go, especially in the mall, I will have it with me...... +100
  9. I'd be in for a memphis group buy
  10. Thanks for the link Sonny I have been looking for a black one, I hope this one last longer than the last one, working outside and sweating wore mine out in about 2 months.

  17. Man that sucks, I wasnt even thinking about being a park or posted, I have avoided places I couldnt carry since I got my permit 1 an 1/2 years ago. I was considering getting one of those lock boxes for the car like the Secure-it or something, does anyone know if this would be legal unloaded in the box at places or parks posted?
  18. I knew a convicted felon who was letting me hunt on his land and we did some checking about 2 years ago and he was told he was alowed to have a black powder rifle of certian types only (dont remember which) and also could hunt with a bow or crossbow, I believe he had a talk with several people including a local judge and chief of police I think, small town everyone knows everyone, like him I would do my home work for myself .
  19. Sweet, I will print this one. Thanks
  20. Would make a difference if it is a state or local park dealing with signs, the state parks I have seen still have thier no-guns signs and is legal but do you know if Oak Ridge has opted out of the parks carry? and if you want someone to go fishing with my goal is Friday the 23rd in afternoon or saturday morning or maybe late on the 24th
