Let me see what stock is available and prices.

A thinner blade...say 1/8" or 5/32" should be plenty to do either.....it's not like you're going to baton wood with it or anything. As long as you make sure it's cleaned and oiled....say with vegetable oil or some other food safe product it should be fine if you put it up. The price of raw stock stainless drives the price up considerably...two or three times as much as carbon steel. What size holes are you thinking you want in the handle area for your removable handles? Damascus is beautiful but maintenance of them is constant when used continually unless you get into a stainless type of damascus in which case it's very expensive. I don't care to work it cause it's tougher on belts and equipment and finishing.

This is about 5"x5". Are you wanting it in carbon steel, stainless or tool steel and what thickness of material? I've never made one before but only because I was concerned nobody would want it? Most I've seen are made from carbon steel...especially traditional ones making them easy to sharpen and hold and edge well but the draw back is it will rust if not cared for properly. This one is about 4 1/2" x 7".

I hope you get to move out of that place sooner rather than later. Kali is a beautiful place except for the morons running it...such a shame really. Tennessee will be happy to have you. -

That's a right purdy blade.....someday when I grow up I might get one of those things. -
The taxpayer funds thing is why I posted it in the first place. I don't condone or respect here for her indiscretions but I believe if she did defraud the government she should be removed from office and made to make full restitution then spend a little time in the Metro jail. I have absolutely no expectation anything will happen and it appears to me she has no self respect if she intends to stay in office. But it matters little what I think and as mentioned this instance doesn't fit the me to crowd either.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/02/01/nashville-council-may-probe-whether-mayors-affair-was-on-taxpayers-dime.html The Nashville city council's budget chairwoman is reviewing her options to probe Democratic Mayor Megan Barry’s possible misuse of taxpayer funds during her extramarital affair. Councilwoman Tanaka Vercher, who heads the budget and finance committee, has asked the council’s lawyer to determine her authority to investigate Barry’s expenses during her tryst with with her former security chief, the Tennessean reported. Barry racked up more than $33,000 in travel expenses combined between her and the security officer, Sgt. Robert Forrest, from January to late October 2017, and has said all of the trips were business-related. According to a review by the Tennessean, Forrest accumulated more than $7,000 in overtime working on trips attended by Barry and others. And in 2017, Forrest and Barry went on nine trips together – including one excursion to Greece -- that they said were "business related." To Greece? Really? Read more.

Now your talkin'!!! -
I've been a mind my own business and you mind yours guy my whole life. I have my beliefs and you have yours...fine....just don't make a big damn deal cause I don't share yours. The older I get the easier it it for me. Now I don't give a hoot what you think and don't really have the time to be bothered caring what anyone else thinks about most topics. Life is too short and getting shorter by the minute. My family...especially the grandkids ....I seem to always have time for. The questions they have still give me a bit of hope for the future.

Ohhh...I like it!!!

The wife had a Flex.....she put 125K on it and it never gave her one problem. We just bought a Fusion from Newton Ford South in Shelbyville. Friendly, courteous and we felt they gave us a fair deal. -
Well I'm from there so I have 50 years of sorrow and frustration....I'd feel better with Wentz running things.
