  1. If I have to go out in public I'll wear one. It's my choice. What I do resent is all the armchair doctors acting like they know everything when it comes down to wearing one or not as well as being told I must. I'm old, have underlying heath issues as well as my wife. Even the health "professionals" can't agree and have in fact lied to the public so who knows for sure what's real or what's not? I don't advocate shutting things down cause if I were young I'd rather be working and taking precautions than sitting on my ass on the dole collecting government cheese. Since I'm old with underlying issues I choose to stay at home as much as possible. It's not like I'm bored at home with nothing to do. There is always more to do than I like.
  2. These are headed to a couple of fine LEO's.... and second....
  3. Man that is a Beautiful sheath!!!!
  4. I've got one....picked mine up in 1979. Enjoy!
  5. I remember it all....as a kid growing up in the 50's we had a store much like that not 2 miles from our house. I loved that place. Old Mr Timmons was always good for a piece of hard candy from the big jar on the counter. And yes...my first car had a suicide knob on it.
  6. I've always said it's not easy being me but it seems to be getting a bit harder lately.
  7. Happy Birthday....I'm nearly 71 so not far behind you. Nothing like waking up to the sunshine and birds singing.
  8. I relented this morning and went to the doc....well I should say the wife relented. Got the full exam, saw the ortho doc as well. Slight tear it seems so follow prescribed treatment/rest and we will take it from there. At this time surgery seems like it's not required. Got some drugs and the wife gets to do my chores as well as hers for a while. I've had my share of plates/pins in bones...shoulder, wrist...heart attack and quad bypass, onset of arthritis and other stuff. I've become spoiled, especially over the last ten years in that I've been able to still do what I need and want to do from cutting trees, trimming bushes, cutting and trimming grass, carpentry, knife making, shooting and whatever else. I never wanted to imply there isn't a ton of folks that have it worse than me. I was just whining and complaining that I couldn't get out to my shop is all. I'm not much of a sitter...never have been. Thankfully there is plenty of stuff to watch on you tube "how to stuff mostly".
  9. Been laid up for 5 days now....hyper extended a knee. Swelled up like crazy, hurt like a SOB and on crutches. And no I didn't go to a doctor. I didn't want to catch some chinese crap or other disease in a doctor's office. On the plus side it is getting better....slowly. Pain is down to practically nothing, swelling is going down, slowly. Crutch helps cause I still can't walk on it comfortably. Getting old stinks.....takes forever to get better. Going crazy sitting around. I haven't been out in the shop for 5 days now. I don't watch TV...most everything is ####. On the plus side I get waited on and there is no expectation of doing chores around the house. Sooner rather than later this "plus" will have to give way cause not moving around freely is quickly losing it's appeal.
  10. I've been there and I know it doesn't make it any easier for you. My condolences to you and yours. It took us 3 years before we could ring ourselves to get another. Now we have 3 rescues and believe me they make me laugh every day. God Bless you.
  11. Welcome to TGO!!
  12. I have desert ironwood and desert mesquite. was it one of these? I haven't made a knife with iron wood in quite a while as I recall. If not maybe you could go back through the sold knives and show me what you are talking about. Mesquite.... Ironwood...
  13. For this price it does include shipping but not choice of wood. I usually make these is a batch of 4 or 5 with different woods and color combinations. I have a boat load of different woods and for these blades I use what I have rather than ordering something special. And yes you can use PayPal, check or MO as payment. Thanks for asking.
  14. I sell these for $75 including sheath shown. Thanks for asking.
  15. I figured I'd better make these last four now cause by the time they are old enough I may be long gone. Two of them are for newborns.
  16. Yes it is. #1 is Blood wood, #3 is Paduak and #4 is yellow heart.
  17. Draw the size and shape on a piece of paper...transfer it to a block of bronze and start grinding, filing, sanding and use a dremel tool as well. when finished I use a product to put a patina oi and there you have it.
  18. Well ain't that sumpthin'!!!!
  19. Hmmm.....I wonder if I could make a fixed blade version of that Yojumbo....
