(SmartBrief.com) â€“ Kroger posted a 21% jump in profits during the third quarter with $25 billion in total sales and double-digit unit and sales growth for the chain’s Simple Truth and Simple Truth Organic private-label brands, said COO Mike Ellis. The company marks its 44th consecutive quarter with positive identical store sales, which were up 5.6% for the period. What did Kroger do to inspire the soft-boycott from Moms Demand Action and its head, Shannon Watts aka Shannon Troughton, President and owner of of VoxPop Public Relations, a boutique liberal PR firm? Moms Demand Action demanded Kroger ban guns in their stores.  Kroger told Shannon and crew to pound sand.  So the Moms spent big dollars to attack Kroger in a series of (not so slick) advertisements as part of a campaign to urge people to boycott Kroger until they ban guns. 2. http://www.gunsholstersandgear.com/2014/12/07/smith-wesson-carbon-fiber-mp-pistols/   Smith & Wesson appears to now be making M&P pistols with a carbon fiber finish. Although the company has not made an official statement yet, it appears that four M&P pistols will feature the carbon fiber treatment: the full size 9mm and .40 S&W plus the compact 9mm and .40 S&W. Here’s what we know so far…   The pistols will be essentially the same as the existing M&P handguns. They will have interchangeable backstraps, use the same magazines and keep the same dimensions. The only obvious change is the replacement of the plain black polymer finish with the carbon fiber finish. None of the guns will have the optional thumb safety that is on some M&P handguns. Right now, the full-size 9mm pistol has been shipping, but it appears, not in large numbers. Compact versions and a full size .40 S&W pistol should be shipping soon. All versions of the guns should carry a MSRP of $599. Street prices are likely to be much lower. YouTube user “Rusty Shackleford” posted a short video on the new carbon fiber pistol:   Read more.

  5. A lot of folks treat Gerbers like they are third world knives but I have a few...some 25 years old that have been used and abused that have held up remarkably well. Their customer service is among the best of any company in any industry.
  6. I'm sure this law won't be used and abused by those with an agenda.
  7. I don't care either way. I'm trying to live a stress free life.

  10. Losing a loved one is tough.....my thoughts and prayers go out to you.
  11. I have 2 9MM and a .45 full size M&p. I love 'em. I've shot a couple thousand rounds all together through them without a problem.
  12. Well I finished it yesterday. It's 1/8" thick 1095 carbon steel with a RC 60. The blade is ground very thin....good for a skinning knife I reckon. I etched it in Super Blue and bleach first to obtain the pitting and and generally the "damn that knife looks old look". When it comes out of 3 hours of the bleach it has about 1/8" of an inch of rust on it. It looks likes it's been rusting in a barn for 50 years. The you have to clean it all off and sand it smooth and when you get it where you want it I dipped into my regular etching solution for about 8 minutes and it turns it all black. Then you have to clean it off again and sand it again. I sanded the blade to 800 grit. You can see how shiny it actually came out. The blade grind is smooth as a baby's butt. Then a final sharpening and installed the handles and coated them with a coat of linseed oil and burnished them with leather.

  23. I'm sure most police do........the people in charge are just afraid to say it.
  24. I saw this.....where's the outrage that a pack of black thugs beat a white guy to death with hammers? Holder and Obozo and Sharpton won't rest until full fledged race riots are a common occurrence in this country.  Well..... they and the losers that commit this type of murder.
