  3. It's made from 1084 carbon steel 5/32" thick. Total length is just over 11 1/2" with a blade length of about 5 1/2". It's shape makes it a Wharncliffe and has sculpted G10 blue scales with zombie green liners. The scales are fastened with epoxy and corby rivets. The design you see in the blade is deep etched into the steel the the entire blade was etched save the edge. It has the "caveman look" on the spine and at the butt of the knife. There is large but gentle jimping added as well. I had a blast making this knife...lots of time and details went into this thing. It's very sharp and the point on it will stick you. Ask me how I know.
  4. Entered in error...
  5. As close as I can come up with is maybe a  spey point blade (once used for neutering livestock) has a single, sharp, straight edge that curves strongly upwards at the end to meet a short, dull, straight point from the dull back. With the curved end of the blade being closer to perpendicular to the blade's axis than other knives and lacking a point, making penetration unlikely, spey blades are common on Trapper style pocketknives for skinning fur-bearing animals.   But honestly I think whoever made it just kind of winged it as they went along and that's how it turned out.
  6. Yes it is...it's acid etched....and thanks for the kind words.
  7. Having a garden is great now that I'm retired and have the time to tend to it properly. Working 12-14 hours a day left no time for a garden in years past.
  8. Good to see people fleeing places like NY. Welcome to Tennessee.
  9. May God be with your little girl and her family.
  10. You did a great job. The hardest thing is working up the nerve to do it.
  11. I've never had a problem with them.
  12. That guy is a loser like his father and his father's father. I started my military career on hill 881 and ended it after serving proudly in Desert Storm. People like me don't need some FB smart ass questioning our patriotism. I've always done what needed to be done under less than perfect circumstances. I'm sure as long as I'm able I'll do the same if required. There's no joy in killing no matter what the circumstances. People that have only done it playing video games have no fucking idea.
  13. Most gun stores already have video cameras in place. Hell anymore, most stores in general have video surveillance!
  14. Total length is just over 10" with a blade length of about 5 1/2".
  15. Lots of elbow grease and lots of patience. ;) Since it's a hobby I can't afford one of those fancy $2500 grinders with all of those attachments. If I had one of those I could cut the production time down to practically nothing.
  16. The rod is part of the simple jig and allows it to follow the preset angle.
  17. I have a border collie....her name is Maggie. Smartest damn dog in the world as far as I'm concerned. We have taught her most anything you can teach a dog and she picked it up lickity split. :pleased: As you can see she has that motherly instinct.
  18. I hear a pack of them howling nearly every evening down back behind my place. I do live out in the sticks a bit and I know for a fact there's deer everywhere back there so.....  I have seen two foxes out in the tree line behind my house in the last couple of weeks. They are very healthy looking critters.
