  1. Depending how long you etch will determine depth of etch. It this case the line you see running across the  blade actually has depth to it. You can see it and feel it.   Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm learning with every one I do. Anyone interested in this one? It is not yet spoken for.
  2. Except this one is a recurve and is considerably larger.
  3. So here it is...my version of the recurved blade. It's 1/8" 1095 carbon steel heat treated professionally to RC59-60. As you can see it has nice large jimping to the front of the handle as well as within the handle on both the top and bottom. Even though the jimping is large it isn't rough on the fingers at all.The scales are cocobolo dymondwood and this thing if big.....right at 13" total length and a blade length of about 7". It has a nice long handle ....no wondering how your gonna grip it here. It has a lanyard hole and the handle is held on mechanically as well as with epoxy. The finish is very unique and I really like how it turned out. Truth be told it's so different I'm not sure I could even recreate it again if I tried. it seems very well balanced and I've very happy the way it turned out.
  4. Me and the missus have a pair as well. She has the 4 and I have the 6. Great guns...tough as nails. Congrats on yours.
  5. I'm glad you like it. Those zombie blades are a lot of fun to make but boy are the time consuming.
  6. Very nice Jack.  Someday I need to try something out of stag or something of that nature.
  7. Sounds like a  plan to me.
  8. Who the hell are these assholes to decide who comes into that crappy ward or any other place for that matter? I didn't realize Obozo had declared martial law.
  9. She was a cutie back in the day....
  10. I think carrying either way should be up to the individual.....not the government. That being said I prefer not  to broadcast to the entire world that I'm armed. Like so many other things in life I feel it's nobody's business.
  11. Such a waste...he had life by the gonads but couldn't find a way to get help? Really? Sucks to be his family and the people that loved him. To bad he didn't take that into consideration.
  12. Nice job as always Spots.
  13. It's quite simple really.......break the rules and you're gone. I have a hard time dealing with dipsticks just like a lot of people but you know going in you're gonna find a lot of smart asses on the interwebz.  If you've seen the movie "Lucy" you'll see how internet idiots should be treated.....pay attention to the taxi driver sequence. http://youtu.be/zfRGcRkHboo
  14. I'm trying my best to feel for you.....without much luck. I just turned 65....wanna trade?
  15. Damn what a beautiful folder. The craftsmanship is top notch. Very nice....congrats.
  16. He did some really nice work. I like the anodizing and stone washing.
  17. You're right. My wife and I have lived through several of the RIF's and all it does is weaken our defense and makes remaining people do more for less. As the OP stated.....this entire mess breaks my heart.
  18. Hell yes he does. That's beautiful work.
  19. This....don't hesitate....do it now.
  20. Great thread....thanks for tips Spots.

  22. A man walks out to the street and catches a taxi just going by. He gets into the taxi, and the cabbie says, "Perfect timing. You're just like Frank." Passenger: "Who?" Cabbie: "Frank Feldman... he's a guy who did everything right all the time. Like my coming along when you needed a cab, things happened like that to Frank Feldman every single time." Passenger: "There are always a few clouds over everybody." Cabbie: "Not Frank Feldman. He was a terrific athlete. He could have won the Grand-Slam at tennis. He could golf with the pros. He sang like an opera baritone, and danced like a Broadway star. And you should have heard him play the piano! He was an amazing guy." Passenger: "Sounds like he was somebody really special." Cabbie: "Oh hell there's more”. He had a memory like a computer. He remembered everybody's birthday. He knew all about wine, which foods to order, and which fork to eat it with. And he could fix anything. Not like me -I change a fuse, and the whole street blacks out. But Frank Feldman, he could do everything right." Passenger: "Wow, some guy then." Cabbie: "He always knew the quickest way to go in traffic and avoid traffic jams. Not like me, I always seem to get stuck in them. But Frank, he never made mistakes, and he really knew how to treat a woman and make her feel good. He would never argue back, even if she was in the wrong; and his clothing was always immaculate, shoes highly polished too. He was the perfect man! I never knew him to make a mistake! No one could ever measure up to Frank Feldman." Passenger: "An amazing fellow. How did you meet him?" Cabbie : "Well, I never actually met Frank. He died, and I married his wife."
  23. By the time we are done we will have tomatoes, green beans, squash, potatoes, black eyed peas, jalapeños, pickles and blackberry jam all put back. The stuff has been growing like crazy.
