  1. Note to self: Get famous. Sign money. Fake death. Wait 30 years........ Get rich.
  2. <END THREAD> Well said DaveTN. I do like seeing this stuff come up more and more in the media though, people are waking up...
  3. Awesome dude! Glad you got the one you really wanted after all was said and done.
  4.   There's a TGO logo next to TGO. Way freakin snazzy IMO.   They did offer me a build kit. Having recently got one from PSA I didn't think to ask how much they were. Don't forget to buy some stuff from D&T when you pick up your lowers if you can. At the TGO transfer rate and all the time it takes to book them in/out/NICS they have to be about losing money on the deal. Grab a few mags if you can, you may spend a few bucks more than you would online, but the benefit of having a good store like D&T around far outweighs those few bucks. IMO.
  5. Bad picture. Bad A$$ recievers! Sent from the parking lot of D&T. :D
  6. I got a response all typed out but decided it was a waste of time hitting the post button. You can't educate people like that, you can't even debate with them.
  7. Yup, I'm running into the same conundrum as whitewolf. I've got 2 5.56 ARs already and want something different for the next one. Of course, I've got the TGO recievers coming in, but I've also got a spare upper floating around as well so its likely that at some point I'll do both, plus maybe a SOCOM as well. My difficulty is deciding what I want to do with the TGO lower/upper. Some are going Grendel, some are going Blackout. Others still are going 5.56. Decisions decisions...
  8. I didn't get a mouse pad either. I got a few stickers though so cool enough for me. I didn't see anything super noticeable on mine, I haven't done a side by side with a normal one, I'm not that worried about it. BCM says 100% and they seem to cycle the bolt as well as my other gunfighter so all in all I'm happy with the price.
  9. So how far would you all have to take down your rifles to clean them enough for inspection? I've heard varying degrees of required cleanliness from various folks.
  10. I was good this year. Two charging handles from BCM.
  11. You might think about going with a large if your scope is going to go back as far as the charging handle. I doubt you'll regret having the extra surface area. At their current price you should just order an extra and see if they'll throw it in with the first to save shipping. Even if you hate it so much you don't want it on any of your rifles, you'll get your money back if you want to sell it. Hell, if you hate it I'll give $25 for it no sweat.
  12. +1. I had to call them super last minute to get my order in in the first place. They went out of their way to accommodate me and not only were they class acts about it, I never felt rushed through, in fact when I hung up I felt I had been treated like a repeat, valued customer. Worse case they can't pull one for whatever reason. You could still get all their parts and have a TGOer help build it. It would still be Tn built from Tn parts.
  13. In Ca's case, especially in any city ending in Beach, you could just flat argue there are to many people period.
  14. Awesome menorah! Happy Hanukkah!!
  15. Even I've got no defense for ole CA on this one. I'd give wooden nickel to be able hear, from their own mouth, why someone made the complaint. Some of the stupid crap I heard there, you can't dream up that kind of stupid. It has to be a natural gift.
  16. "Family cries foul" Of freaking course they do. Like Caster said, piss on him. Piss on his whole damn family at that.
  17. Glad you got a good one! Can't wait to see what you all do with it. Some kind of forged component is mandatory, you do know that right? :)
  18. Same here. I don't "hate" other charging handles, but I can't help being a little sad for them that they'll never be as awesome. I thought I'd found a cheap solution with the larger "tactical" handles that Brownells sells. Wrong. Also their BCG are IMO worth the cost for sure. Mine still looks pretty much new after all the rounds down range. Not a huge round count mind you, but when I say it still looks new, I mean NIB new. Very solid finish.
  19. Much to be thankfull here and I am reminded of this every day. I'd like to share a story with you all that involved me this afternoon. I work in east Nashville. Not the "cool part" of town with all the hipsters either. Today one of our local homeless came into my shop. Sort of. He made it to the door and could go no further. Seeing him in our doorway, hunched over and clutching himself, I knew something was wrong. As I approached, asking repeatedly if he was ok or if he needed help, he said "I think I'm having a heart attack!" Now I'd like mention I know this man. He's a local homeless who I have removed repeatedly from our store. Honestly he is an aggressive pan handler and kind of an all around ass. Had he said about anything else, its likely I would have told him to tell his story walking. My father has lived and suffered with numerous cardial issues for over a decade. There were a few times over the past years when I was living in CA that I wondered if I would ever see him again. As I got closer to the homeless man, he collapsed quite literally in my arms. Guiding him gently to the floor, I instructed one of my employees to call 911. After making sure he was breathing I also dialed our local low cost/no cost clinic as they are across the street. One of their doctors and two nurses were at my door giving care before we were even through to a 911 operator. The nurse was familiar with the man and started talking to him by name as the doctor did whatever it is doctor do, and the man responded by answering all questions the same way "I want to die, god let me die". The nurse told him that he wasn't going to die today, god had other plans for him. Upon hearing that I piped in "that's right, if god wanted you dead today he would have left you out in the fucking alley, but he brought you here to me instead". I'd like to point out that I am not a very religious or spiritual man, I would say that I'm a non-believer except I accept my own ignorance to the matter and choose instead to just wait and see. I don't know why I said what I said, I couldn't help it, it just came out. The ambulance arrived and got him loaded up. Before they left they asked me if I could throw away the empty bottle of Popov, or whatever cheap vodka it was. Oddly enough it was a mirror twin to the empty bottle I found in the parking lot this morning. I've spent the rest of the day wondering if he really did have a heart attack, or just drunk and cold. I'm guessing the former, this guy has ZERO problem getting arrested to get fed and warm. I am thankfull this year. For far too many things to even think about listing. I would like to thank though the Red Cross tonight. My first aid training completely "took over" once I heard the words "heart attack" and saw him start to go down. I did not have to administer first aid, however I wonder if I would have handled things as well without walking through the pre and post care steps in class. Thank you Red Cross. Everyone stay safe tonight. Hug your family's a little tighter, and to quote my favorite Tesla tune "Thank you lord for thinking about me, I'm alive and doing fine"
  20. Bravocompany has some pretty good deals on some blem items. Gunfighter charging handles $25.00 Says they're slightly off spec but 100%good to go. 1 year warranty. I picked up two at that price. Blem uppers for $79.00 w/ejection port and forward assist kits thrown in. Some have had barrels mounted for display, some have scratches. Not too bad if you only got a lower and planning a new finish anyway. Also, AIM has Nib BCGs back in stock, still $129.00 They have a tab with "Black Friday Specials" but nothing in there yet. I'm ordering one and if its on sale and hasn't shipped I'll cancel and reorder.
  21. Wierd weather is probably perfect for when you want to train in... wierd weather.
  22. Wow. A German(?) Dolomite. Guess it goes to show how small a world. I wonder how they would compare to powder coat. I'd imagine powder coat would be more heat tolerant, but there are some very high heat epoxies as well. Maybe about the same?
  23. Uh, social security, Medicaid/care/somethingwhatever. Your not counting those? <SARCASM OFF>
  24. And only twice as lethal to the user than the victim eh? This guys a dork, all he's going to do is get a bunch of ninnies all worked up over something that has no solution. I still don't get why people are still losing sleep over crap like this? When does it stop? Do we have to be strapped to a gurney and be dollied around like Hannibal Lector or what?
  25. I had one or two PE classes in junior high when I got hurt and had to ballroom dance with the girls. The other kids talked ALOT of smack but it gave me the chance to put my arms around some very pretty girls. :D It was fun enough as I recall but man I couldn't wait to get back to kickball or whatever. I'd give it a shot.
