  1. I don't think the "Mary Jane" has much if anything to do with Ole Chuck Sheen being nuttier than squirrel sh;t. The mans an admitted crack head, I'd say the fact that anyone is concerned with his opinion period is questionable. He's a freakin crack head after all.
  2. I've got 3 New Frontier polymer lowers and haven't got anything bad to say about them. Haven't tried an ATI though. I think the polymer lowers in general are fine for what most people actually use their ARs for, if you want a light weight, low cost range gun then you'll be in good shape.
  3. You mean like this? That doesn't work really, your better off getting a real adjustable red dot if you want that level of magnification. The flip up magnifier works fairly well but if I had to do it all over again I'd spend the money on a Bushnell like this. and IMO be out ahead. http://bushnell.com/tactical/rifle-scopes/ar-optics/1-4x-24mm-throw-down-pcl
  4. If deer would be 100 max for hunting (don't know for sure, just assuming) I'd figure it would be at least effective a bit further if you were only concerned about filling your belly instead of humane kills. I'd figure maybe 150 yards or so would still be plenty lethal for man, with the right loads maybe even out a bit further? I'm guessing between 150-200 yards depending upon variables. Likely lethal MUCH farther out, but not "effective".
  5. Nice deer, sounds like you'll be eating well in 2014. Merry Xmas Dave!

    My Christmas

It's VERY nice, but my ignorant butt doesn't know what it is?! Is that a piston setup? BCG looks a bit different... Either way I really like that rail, who makes it?
  7.   Who?   Exactly.
  8. Ah man, please tell me Pringles hot off a line aren't as good as I imagine them to be.
  9. If your ever interested in a theological discussion on the Russian/Greek Orthodox Church let me know. I'm not the guy to have the debate with but my father is a sub deacon. He loves to have chats with anyone interested, especially if it pertains to the history behind the church.
  10. That looks fantastic! Good weave.
  11. And there it is ladies and gentlemen, the common ground. Your 100% on the ball with this Daddyo, the silence in regard to the homophobic view points in the Islamic faith is BS. We should be calling them on their BS just as loudly as we do the Christians. IMO neither side is on the side of right, but to go after one and not the other is also wrong.
  12. Phil's a homophobe. ;)
  13. One thing that amazes me here, actually, amazes me anytime liberals or gays are brought up is how quick folks are to justify their actions on the old playground standard of "they started it!". I'm guessing at some point some of you all forgot those old adages : "Two wrongs don't make a right" "The world ain't fair" The first one in particular I think is very important to remember when we're out and about throwing around the whole "who is more intolerant" ball.
  14. About as well said as it could be. I'm glad someone can articulate my line of thoughts even when I can't. As to the whole Phil vs a&e issue. Keep this in mind, things are not always what they seem in Hollywood. This wouldn't be getting the recognition it has been if all the cards were on the table. IMO it has been clear for awhile that Phil doesn't care one bit to be on TV or not. They've been downplaying his roll on the show considerably since the 2nd season (I haven't seen the latest season so maybe that changed?) I'd be willing to bet my last wooden nickle that Phil simply isn't interested in the show anymore and rather than quietly take his exit, A&E opted to make a bit of controversy around his disappearance to help further boost ratings. I also believe the show is on its way out anyway. You can only stay at the top for so long and usually hit shows don't slowly lose their audience, the ratings don't slip, they plummet. They'll milk every chance they get to boost the ratings further and fatten the calf before the slaughter. I'm reminded of awhile back when the whole sons of guns dra went down with Vince leaving the show and the production team trying to script it so it seemed that he got fired by Will. Lots of people fell for that and lots of people will fall for this. Of course this is just MHO
  15. I think there's one for sale in the classifieds here.
  16. Nope. Your a bigot if you can't accept gay people for who and what they are. People. Once the fact that someone is gay overrides in ones mind that they are a person and all that's seen is the gay, then you're in my mind a bigot. If your religion says being gay is in and of itself such a bad thing that it should be hidden away, shunned, and over all listed as a mortal sin then I'd say your brand of faith lacks the compassion that most religions are or anyway should be centered around. There is nothing wrong with not approving of the "gay lifestyle", but how you treat others based on your own religious values make all the difference. In other words, no Dave, I don't think your a bigot. Hope this clears things up somewhat. If you care enough to give yourself the simple two question TrickyNicky bigot test though, here it is. Would you donate blood to save specifically a gay persons life. Would you knowingly and without qualm EXCEPT a gay persons blood to save your own. If the answer to both questions is yes, then most likely your not bigoted tword gay people. If the answer is no or you find yourself deep in contemplation over the answer then wake up and join the human race.
  17. This is by far TGO's best gay thread that I've had the pleasure of viewing. Some have really raised the bar for humanity, others need to stop pretending they're not prejudice against the gays when they so clearly are. It cracks me up reading "straight, gay, I don't care as long as I don't have to know." It's a nice sentiment, but I'd be willing to bet that with few exceptions its BS. Now in relation to carnal knowledge, sure. I don't always care to have that conversation either. But to say that your comfort level is equally low wether a man makes a reference like "well I'd better get going, the wife will be pissed" as opposed to "yeah, my boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Hawaii". Well that's just weird in my opinion. You really would prefer that no one ever makes any reference to any relationships period? You don't ever mention your wife? Even in passing? Right. Just admit that you don't like gay people for whatever reason and that will be that. But this whole "I'll give them tolerance but never except them" just makes you sound like a bigot that can't even admit to his own prejudices. Anyway, good for Chris. Isn't it great that we live in a country were he can make an announcement like that for any or no reason? I think so.
  18. Good luck Bersaguy, moving sucks period none the less when its not by your choice or on your schedule.
  19. You and Caster are some generous guys! Way more so than myself anyway. :D
  20. Glad everything went ok.
  21. I love that list. I will say though that they should replace "If your Mosin Nagant breaks, you buy a new one" with "If your Mosin Nagant breaks alert the Guiness book of world records cause that's a first."
  22. Ammo. The gift that keeps on giving... Until you run out anyway.
  23. Yeah. This seems legit.
  24. Seems about right.
  25. Since this thread is back from the dead, here's a shot of how the rifle turned out. It's the first on the left, not too far off what I originally wanted. On the far right you can see that the carbine length tube didn't sit in the parts bin too long lol. I'm building that one for my brother who wanted a no frills cheap optic ready AR. It'll end up being a bit fancier than he originally thought, but I'm helping him out with the budget. Thanks to everyone who helped me get over what I hope is the worst of the learning curve regarding the AR platform's construction. I'm having a ball now "designing" new pistols, carbines and rifles in my head and on the web. Now if only I could afford all the drool worthy stuff I want...
