My dad carried one for 35+years. He eventually stopped I think because his back and knees aren't what they used to be. He could clear leather and dump all 5 shots from his S&W 36 in the blink of an eye. The entire time he was on the force he qualified consistently at the marksman or expert level with his little snubbie. Not typical for most people, but it worked well for him (I assume after LOTS of practice). He did make one point about them that stuck with me though, inside left leg is a very handy place to carry while in the car. If you have your right hand below the window in your lap you can lift your leg enough and reach enough to clear the holster and have the gun in your hand without anyone being the wiser. A handy trick for a cop working a beat in the city, or an armed civilian for that matter.

Dumbest way to "teach gun safety" you have ever heard of

Well since he's dead I'd be willing to bet you're right. Kind hard to do anything once that happens. -
OK or lunacy? Range in your backyard in a residential area.

My response to that would be "go for it. I'll be sure to return the favor by letting them know who filed the false report." -
Glad it worked out but that was a dangerously stupid thing to do IMO. BB guns fall into funny territory, they're not toys, but they're not exactly lethal weapons either. She's lucky she didn't shoot him, if he knew he was being held hostage by a Daisy I doubt he would have waited around at best.

Fake Gibson Geetars Being Sold Around Nashville

The strat with the gold pick guard? One volume, one tone knob? I vaguely recall them being part if their "Player" series or some such. A lot of today's squires are excellent guitars, some even have pretty good sounding pickups. The old squires from Japan were absolute killers though, I don't think I've ever seen a less than exceptional guitar come out of Fuji Gen under any name. I used to love going through Guitar Center and playing Gibson, fender custom shop, PRS etc. and falling in love with all the great American guitars. Now that I own most of what I want, I find myself playing a lot more imports and lower end stuff. It's more fun hunting for a great example or diamond in the rough with the <$400. guitars IMO. I played a used Danelectro at guitar center the other week ago for example, great guitar. Great tone, great neck, acceptable action, $200. Shoulda bought the thing. -
And around and around we go. :)

A vicious cycle. :D I'd say go for it, I'm saving the cost ($30.) on my next Brownells order alone. I don't use it for C&Rs much though, I bought a few when I first got it but haven't in a while. The supply on cheap surplus guns is drying up, there are still lots of cool guns that qualify though.

Another one on the wish list.

Steelharp may have one I think, my only 9mm carbine is the sub2K. Now it does take Glock magazines, but it's not an areo, aero, air oh... its not one if those take down survival rifles that look so neat.

Night stand guns caliber and capacity
TrickyNicky replied to Duck's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'm dressed 1/2 the time I'm asleep as well. Also armed. For me its some kind of narcolepsy, I pass out early most every night in my favorite tv watching chair. I'll wake up around 12:00AM, hang out for a few hours till dragging my butt up to bed between 2:00 - 3:00 I'm single too... can't imagine what woman could <burp> resist me though... Once I've officially "gone to bed" my bedside gun is a M&P VTAC. I really like the VTAC sites, no matter if its dark as night or bright as day when I wake up I have a set of sights made to "pop" in any light condition. I keep a flashlight handy too, nothing fancy just a cheapo led light. I keep others around the house, my brother thinks I'm a nut because I have a kitchen gun. I thinks he's crazy not too, his GF is cool enough to let him... Having said all that, I've used everything from a 22 to a SA 357 as a HD weapon and never have felt undergunned? -
Very tempting. I've had all the parts I need sitting in my Brownells cart for literally 2+months. Every time I'm ready to go something else pops up. This would come out costing an extra $50. But it's all set and ready. What to do, what to do...

Sigmtman is correct. Felony charges abounded there as well. @6.8, you won't get any argument from me, its stupid, reckless and dangerous. It also happens to be working...

Fake Gibson Geetars Being Sold Around Nashville
TrickyNicky replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
It was so bad a few years back my local pawn shop would have nothing to do with Gibson. I had just started a new job after being out if work and money was TIGHT. Tried pawning a $2k+ guitar, only wanted $50 on a loan. Guy wouldn't do it. Just not worth the risk according to him , guess I can't blame him. -
Tell you what Hipower, why don't pool our funds and share? It'll be the both of ours, I'll keep it at my house, and when you want to shoot it, why just give me a call and we'll set a range day.

Fake Gibson Geetars Being Sold Around Nashville

Been going on a long time. :( there used to be pretty good tells, two screw truss rod covers vs 1-3 screw, tuner spacing, finish quality etc. The Chinese started getting feedback on that and many are now "improved". Even the "better" fakes are nothing like a Gibson or even lower end epiphone. The hardware and electronics are absolute junk. I've seen silver painted plastic used instead of chromed metal. The biggest tell has always been price. Unless its fake or stolen, if it sounds too good to be true it is. -

Saw a shady deal at Academy- with pic

David wouldn't bull*hit anyone about it. Won't sell it to me? Fine, just don't go around pissing down my neck telling me its raining. -
My first reaction. Ooh lah di da, a PWC, Mr. "too good to just incorrectly call it a jetski like the rest of us" has a PWC. Then I read through again and saw you didn't have it any more. :( They are a lot of fun, wonder if you could build your own with a 12 pack of beer, an inner tube, some duct tape, zip ties, and an old outboard motor? Bet after the tenth beer whatever you end up with is close enough.

I would suspect you are correct. Doesn't matter though, she's still a *****. :)

Well wishes coming your way! Hope the little guy checks out to be fine. -
I've been thinking about grabbing one of those now that prices are coming back down again.... I've got waaay too much in my wish list. I've got the next 10 years of gun money already mapped out how to spend. Now if prices just wouldn't increase at all over the next decade, I might actually have all I want one day. But really, that thing is sweet. I'm jealous.

I got nothing on a replacement. What's wrong with the original?

Not if they're driving an automatic and that foot never leaves the pedal it sure won't.
