  1. ^This. It would be so much easier to not be the squeaky wheel in this case. Good on em.
  2. :D guilty as well.
  3. You know what's funny though, I see the same cast of characters here making up a good percentage of the Zman posts. Most of these "regular suspects" are also the same people saying "why won't he go away?" To those folks I say, look in the mirror, there's your answer. Just because Zman does something, does not make you obligated to post about it, just because some one else posted about him does not make you obligated to read it, just because you read it does not make you obligated to respond. Want things to die down, stop reacting to his name like someone kicked your dog. It's over.
  4. The dipsh*t market can't be that big can it?
  5. I paid a lot less than that a year ago and a half ago, but like anything else that goes bang, there is a premium these days. How much ammo comes with it? It's pretty spendy stuff so even at 100 rounds you didn't do bad IMO.
  6. Yup. For me its Nashville Armory (though D&T and G&L are also tops) I can be at Franklin Gun Shop or either EW location in 1/2 the time but what's the point? I'm not tacticool enough for the EW crowd and apparently not stupid enough either. Same with FGS, I simply don't feel like I'm valued as a customer there so why give them my money?
  7. I'll just say this, I live in brentwood. I'll be lucky to see 35k this year. There goes the whole rich theory.
  8. I appreciate the heads up from OP. Having said that I won't be back in everything weapons. They can choke on the 2 pallets at that price. Wonder why Brentwood/ Franklin can't have a good gun shop? Thank goodness for our local forum sponsors!
  9. I watched it... Most if it, that guy can talk until even guns are boring. His has the same problem mine had, whatever that was. I should have taken mine to Jeff too and had it done sooner, but as is all it took was a 5 minute phone call and dropping it off with the store I bought it at who agreed to box it and hand it off if I gave them the shipping label Henry sent me. I'd be willing to bet that he has a rifle box or two lying around so he wouldn't even need to bother the store. He did make a big deal out of nothing, other than that it was a pretty typical review. I'd actually say a fair one beside that.
  10. I've been looking at those for an ar in 5.56, how do you like it? I was going to recommend looking into one as they seem like a pretty cool scope at a good price, plus I think they make one with 300 BDC now as well. But keep in mind I don't own one, just been doing a bit of scope shopping lately as well.
  11. I'm sure that will be a comfort.
  12. Got it.
  13. I thought PTAC was its own company and PSA was just using them as a low cost "house brand". If that's the case it makes sense.
  14. Just once for me. Brand new carbine wouldn't feed from the magazine. Sent it into Henry and got it back 3 weeks later, didn't cost me a dime and solidified my opinion of the as a company. I think they're great.
  15. My :2 cents: Go pickup the gun the coin chose. While you're there and before you fill out any paperwork or open your wallet, go put hands on everything else in your budget and some stuff $100. - $200. over. If you still want the Kimber then grab it. If you get a good one you'll learn the valuable lesson that buying used guns is a good way to save money. If you buy a bad one you'll learn that sometimes it's better to pony up the extra $$$ and get something new w/warranty. Especially when it's something you don't know much about. If I bought a used gun I could identify a broken firing pin (as an example) as an issue, most likely could find a new one and fix it myself too. Same with a lot of the small "minor" parts that guns don't tend to work too well without. I also know when to box something up and take it to someone more knowledgable than myself when needed. That's another good lesson a used gun can teach you. I don't mean to rain on your parade or come across as preachy, just want you aware of some of the pitfalls when buying used. Do you have a friend who is knowledgable who can go with you to look it over?
  16. Score one for the good guys.
  17. I don't know but dudes making $$$.
  18. Old Joe sounds like a good man. Sorry for your loss.
  19. Personally I'd buy a cheaper handgun and finish the 74. If you have any cash left spend it on ammo. Colt makes a fine pistol, but you're paying a lot for that dancing pony IMO. I'd go with either a Rock Island or Ruger.
  20. There you go, AR15s under $450. I've got some if the New Frontier poly lowers and like them just fine. For a first AR, especially with budget in mind, I think they're a great option.
  21. Naw, you're one of the best people here to argue with. Some people cave or stop replying to quick, at least a guy can depend on a proper argument with you.
  22. Yeah, the meme has officially been stolen. I'll use a bit more discretion in choosing my victims though. ;) Or not......
  23. Meh, AIM got some nitride BCG back in stock, spent my money for the week on that instead. Barrel is next, I'm gonna have to piece this one out to get what I really want. That was a good price though...
  24. The one on the bottom is his ankle gun. Wore through the parkerizing in some places, the finish is a product of a long career chasing bad guys. . The 66 was one if his duty weapons as well. Before that it was a model 10 he had cut back to 3". Before that it was another model 10 modified by the LAPD to shoot only double action. He was NOT a cop long enough to carry the Colt above that.
