Holly cow that looks great! Bet it will be pretty easy to loose in the field though, drop it in some tall grass and it'll be gone forever!

Madonna and Cracker Barrel Set To Release a Bluegrass Album

For just a second there I was all like "<sigh> WTF?" Then I remembered. -
SMOKIN' Deal @ PSA on an already cheap upper!
TrickyNicky replied to musicman's topic in General Chat
Or even just multiple lowers. A buddy of mine does just that, he only has one lower and likes it fine, he runs different up person it to suit his mood/goal. Seems weird to me, but he likes it and it saves him a few hundred bucks off each rifle. -
SMOKIN' Deal @ PSA on an already cheap upper!
TrickyNicky replied to musicman's topic in General Chat
I can empathize with that. My brother wanted an AR last year. I've been piecing it together for him since bit by bit. He doesn't know yet but I think I'm going to end up giving him my strikefire with it as well. No biggie, he's a cool little bro as far as its worth. Pretty much gave me his 10/22 after he went a year without shooting it. Sucker. -

SMOKIN' Deal @ PSA on an already cheap upper!
TrickyNicky replied to musicman's topic in General Chat
That is crazy cheap! I might have a spare flip up aluminum rear sight. I'll do some digging and let you know, at least you've got 2-3 before it ships to figure it out. ;) -
Bull Squat. Have you not been reading the thread? There are already and in some cases, STILL vendors here selling at pre-panic pricing. Stop drinking the kool-aid, or at least stop spreading misinformation.

Polymer lowers now "illegal"
TrickyNicky replied to TNMTBik3r's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think you all are missing what OP had in bold. If the issue is that a number can be removed essentially without a trace of there having been one, that may be the issue in itself. Maybe they're worried that people could swap numbers or even have their own tags made up. Still pretty dumb, but I don't think its a case of any removable serial number being a problem. -
My sr22 runs like a champ since day one.

Uh, I read the thread first. That's the only part of the video I even watched.

My money's just as green from a few miles away as yours. I've been in EW, spent money and everything. Add to it the fact that they're one of the closest options to me and it kind of shoots your whole first paragraph down, don't it. Going to a gun show? Why? The whole point of this thread is people are fed up paying gouged pricing. Plus I don't need to go buy the last over priced brick, I've got plenty thanks to a minute amount of foresight but mostly thanks to one of the vendors here who has consistently been able to keep a small supply and sell it at a fair price. Even with all that in mind I hope EW makes it. I most likely won't be back, which given the general demeanor of the staff I dealt with, would probably suit them fine. More stores are of course a good thing, and they make chocolate and vanilla both for a reason. My mind was made up long before the matter. I'd be willing to bet someone sporting some 5-11s, 3 para cord bracelets, and under armor shirt and a high and tight might have a more welcoming experience than either of mine. For them I say great. Me? I'll be shopping elsewhere.

I look at hpt as being a nice quality control step, but the fact that these aren't doesn't turn me off to them. There are more than a few other makers out the with carriers costing the same or more with the same specs minus the fancy finish. I'll trust AIM to put out a good product, I haven't taken mine out and put rounds through the rifle with it yet but it certainly looks and feels solid. Very nice machining, excellent staking and an all around smooth feel to the moving pieces. If HPT is a deal breaker, BCM makes a great bolt and carrier. It's a bit pricey at $180 +\- but very well made. Even the finish seems to be if not tougher, than more even than other parkerized BCGs I own. More rounds through it than any if the others and less wear too.

Its worth the wait IMO. I had all of them flagged to email me when they showed up, I had really wanted the NiB coated but nitride popped up sooner. Oh well, I'll grab a NiB one later.

Thanks, like I said its a balance of form, function and budget. Nothing super high end, but the right parts for what I want to do with it. I would have liked a fancier stock, but the MOE was priced right. I don't regret it in hindsight, it's the right choice for this rifle. Also take look at the BCGs being offered from AIM surplus right now. You have to get set up for email notifications and jump on them fast, they're the best deal going in a BCG IMO. I got a nitrided one and am very happy with it. Especially for the wopping $99. Shipped to my door.

Overall I like it, I would add a BCM charging handle though. Totally worth the cost and IMO is a huge improvement over the mil spec. I like the large ones. Other than that I would maybe look into a keymod handguard to save some weight. Plus I'm just not a fan of quad rails. Too bulky and uncomfortable. As to optics, we're back to the whole matter of what are you using it for. Here's mine as it sits, It has a vortex SPARC and vortex magnifier. The setup works ok, pretty well actually for what I expect which is quick targeting and being able to do so from 10-100 yards. Accuracy isn't fantastic, but it works well enough to put you on target. Just don't expect admirable groups. Probably great for steel shooting. I'm swapping out the current setup soon for a higher power option. I'm looking at models from Nikon and Bushells that are apparently designed around the rifle/cartridge and are around the $200 mark. I'm going to try to milk some accuracy out of it while still holding to the budget. I've got around 1k into minus the vortex stuff I'm looking to spend no more than $300 on the new scope.

I'm with you, I want a 54R semi bad, just not badly enough for the cost. One day...

Stripperflage for brass pole barons!
TrickyNicky replied to Dustbuster's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I actually kind of dig it, it doesn't look bad at all and from 5-10 feet I bet it all just blends in to the mix, kind of like camo is supposed to do. -
Ah, after the smoke and sandwich.

It was quick to the climax though.

Glock mags... Why so expensive?
TrickyNicky replied to JohnC's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Yeah, as someone who recently spent about $100. on 2 M&P mags, my sympathies are pretty limited. :) I never cared much for Glocks, wasn't a hater by any stretch, just never desired to own one and had shot only a few. My mind is starting to turn a bit though. The mags aren't too pricey, the design is solid, and if I go for a model 19 I can share magazines with my sub2K. It may be time to rent one for an hour or so and see if it works for me. Hard to imagine it won't though. -
Damn. Lucky dog, hope he's alright.

The Ultimate Reseller of 22LR, LOL
TrickyNicky replied to TripleGGG's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Hey, he only needs to sell one... -
What can I say, it's living up to the expectation you've created. You really do build some kickin 10/22s. Ruger should be taking notes.

Ah, couldn't make it out on the phone, thanks. Well its an interesting selection to say the least.
