Is this a home based FFL or brick and mortar?

Post in the classifieds and the masses shall reward your search...

Yeah I'm ready. I was good too this year, but we'll see how good I can stay once my money comes back.

Bah, my idea of a perfect birthday is going to work, calling my mom on lunch break, and coming home. It used to work out real well when I was near 2,000 miles away. It's hard to get out of the inevitable dinner and party. I keep my chin up mostly because it keeps the women happy. And not much effort is required. And there is usually cake.

TFB confirms with the BATFE about arm braces!
TrickyNicky replied to whitewolf001's topic in Handguns
I think his overall length clears him of the pistol restrictions. Of course, that might be with one if his other uppers. I can't picture OS posting a picture of a felony though. ;) -

Opinions on Ammo storage needed.
TrickyNicky replied to Tobashadow's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Holy cow , a pallet of ammo cans?! I've got ammo stored loose in a can, in boxes in a can, boxes in a cabinet, and loose in a pretzel jar. :)I like loose storage for the 22.s I shoot most which are Calibri, I've got those in an old pretzel jar. I just grab a handful and go. Bulk plinking ammo that's getting used relatively soon also gets tossed in loose, I just grab the can or fill up a zip lock bag. Anything "specialty" stays in the box. Anything being set aside for the hoard stays in the box. Of course, there are exceptions. As to what to do with it all, I'd say that your might want to think about storing some off site. I keep some spread around at a few different places. A little at my brothers, a lot here, a whole lot at my parents as that's the rendezvous point for the family and I spend a lot of time there anyway. It works out pretty well. -
Nashville Armory has/had one. I was underwhelmed as it sits. It's about the size of a typical 1998 handheld camcorder and weighs a bit more. Plus it was awkward to hold for very long. A bench toy for sure. I hate the idea of it being hooked up to the trigger at all, but I'd like the idea of a self adjusting scope. If they can ever get that technology down to a reasonable cost with a not too much bigger heavier optic, I'd be very interested as I hate sighting in scopes and figuring holdover. Still cheating, but at a level I'd be comfortable with. :D

That might be a good idea too. You never know what kind of secrets those sneaky little bastards are hiding.

I know, I was being over dramatic. :drama: There does seem to be a decline in overall QC with some of Remington's stuff though. Some lines don't really seem effected, but I hate to see a brand like Remington take a turn for the worst.

Forum member Caster has made a sling out of para cord. His came out looking very nice as I recall. I can't remember if his had a way to adjust length or not?
-
It's also starting to be less and less winners for Remington overall. 700 and 870 are about all they make with a solid rep anymore, and even the 700 has a tainted past.

I'll disagree with the whitewolf and capbyrd. I AM absolutely trying to pressure you into buying what I think is best. But really, if you see us all making the same point over and over, there's a reason. If I keep harping about weight it's because it's hard to get a feel for how these things balance out before you assemble them. I kept saying "what's a few ounces matter if it has better ______." Now I'd be willing to sacrifice some ______, if I could shave a pound or two off that is. We want you to love your rifle. Great trade you worked out.

Someone should find him and drown him in a barrel. The TWRA rep, not your son.

What is it. Six long slow months till season 5???
TrickyNicky replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
I let go after season 1. It got too predictable in its unpredictability. I can't be shocked if I'm waiting for something shocking to happen the whole time. Plus I just didn't connect with any of the characters. I feel for you guys waiting though, it's hard to watch reruns for 6 months waiting for closure. :) -
Polymer lowers now "illegal"

Its fairly old tech as well. I remember reading about using acids and magnets to recover serial numbers in one of my dads books when I was a kid pouring over small arms books in his office. -
Yup, I wouldn't go full quad. Even if you do insist on hanging a bunch of stuff off it, a quad just isn't comfortable and just unnecessary. Someone will have to correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is a world of difference in performance with 18"vs 20". One thing to keep in mind is your overall length with muzzle devise. An 18" will end up closer to 20" and a20" closer to 22". If you want a handier rifle (marginally) go with the 18". I'd look into a light weight options as far as profile. If the weight won't be a factor for whatever reason then go with a 20" and make it a bull barrel.

While I appreciate the irony, it seems unpatriotic. Maybe get one and frame it? OP, how long ago roughly do you think it was?
-
So in other words, more panic buying?
-
Well that's a bite in the ass.

I can't wait.

If the place is anything like I remember all I can do is sadly chuckle about the notion if a range officer. As for the later two, they have to know by now, been too long.

SMOKIN' Deal @ PSA on an already cheap upper!

I was good too. A lot of other things I'm needing more right now, but it was damn hard to pass up that price. -

I agree it makes about as much sense as a screen door in a submarine, but I still don't think you get it. Of course any firearm can have its serial number removed, but in most cases it's going to leave a mark, blemish, scratch, SOMETHING. If these serialized plates were popping off with a minor amount of gentle prying than I can at least understand how that might be a problem. As to the pics in the article I simply can't believe that damage was caused by them peeling what essentially amounts to an industrial sticker. What caused it, don't know, but I'd bet even money it wasn't them prying up the serialized plate.
