I like midway USA. I really do, having said that I save more shopping Brownells generally. Between the cheaper shipping and my C&R discount it is hard to beat. I've noticed that they have cheaper prices in general on something's already too. Now I tend to doubt that midway is hurting any, but I wish they would reconsider the C&R discount and get shipping back up to speed, other than that no complaints.

Very happy with my SR22. Also very happy with my MkIII. My SP101 in 22lr. has been a consistent winner. I looked at a M&P22 as I have an love an M&P9. It was a nice little pistol. Has some nice features/options. Threaded barrel and some decent capacity magazines. Trigger was pretty ok out of the box as I recall, but nothing memorable. I liked it, ended up buying a MKIII 22/45Lite instead. If I were to recommend any one rimfire pistol it would actually be the MKIII or 22/45 if you prefer the grip angle. The SP101 in 22 would also be a great choice given your GP100. Any of those 3 will outlast the youngest shooter, be an accurate all around handy gun, and provide reliable pleasure and practice for many, many years.

Anybody want to go shooting at the OK Corral Saturday?

I missed out on the other, was all geared up to go today though. Got a new scope to zero, some 303 stacked up, all set to go. :( -

Argh, I got called into work. Really wanted to go shooting and Jimmy johns is always good. We need to set up a TGO shoot in Mid Tn. -
Certainly true, but even in those cases there were plenty of good ones made. Still some Plum Crazy lowers kicking around as I understand it. All in all I'd hazard that there are more good than bad out there. I wouldn't worry. I'd keep an eye on it, maybe a bit more so than a metal one, and it wouldn't be my choice developing any hot loads, but I'd take it out and enjoy a day at the range with it. I can see how the plastic could chip and all, I'm actually thinking the lip around the mag well will start chipping before anything else on mine. Its kind of pronounced and sharp. When/if that happens I'll probably replace them with aluminum, but still not worried about the polymer.

I dropped out too. Called into work. I really wanted to go shooting though, the show was just the tailgating so to speak.

Talk about a weird mental image, imagine the movie 300 but every roll is played by Mister T.

Is it just me or does the PAP look like it might actually be possible for a full sized adult to get a decent LOP on it?

I think your thinking about Starbucks. If so it wasn't quite like that. They've always held a policy to not have a policy so to speak. Kind if like a Walmart, if you can legally carry in the state the store is in, you can carry in the store. Where this got a lot of attention was because Starbucks target demographic is yuppies. They bitched and groaned but Starbucks didn't seem to care. I bet there were no substantial list revenues. Anyway, long story short as I recall it a bunch of well meaning OC "activists" from all over start open carrying in Starbucks. I seem to remember some group wanting an OC in Starbucks day. It got stupid IMO. Anyway, Starbucks released a statement basically saying "don't use our place of business as a political podium, we are here to sell coffee." and people about lost their minds. You would have though based on some people's reactions that they announced they were going to give all their 3rd quarter profits to the Brady campaign. Personally I was glad to see them not want to get involved. They make coffee, why should they? There have been rouge employees/managers/ customers post stores I'm sure, but I don't think I've heard of a legitimately (as in Corprate knows) posted Starbucks in a state where it was legal? I don't think they halted OC even temporarily, but I don't remember ?

Get your colored Pmags while you can...
TrickyNicky replied to Chucktshoes's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I would imagine that ultimately demand will outdrive desire for more cohesive branding. Or someone else will take advantage of the demand. Either way I'll still probably spray paint black pmags just the same as I would have anyway as I've got plenty. -
That link would have been handier than a pocket on a tshirt for me a year ago. Good find.

I'm not even there and I'm terrified already...

Where in Nashville do you shoot? I could probably meet up and let you get hands on with one and give you the basic run down. There's stuff I'm still learning, but I can show you how they work and what parts are there.

I'd be willing to bet that driving to Guns&Leather in greenbrier would be more than worth the time and gas over FGS. No affiliation with either.

Happy belated birthday! Looks like you got yourself a present from the past. I've been getting those lately too. I almost hope I don't uncover anymore AR magazines. I cleaned out the back seat of my car awhile back and found 3-4 boxes of buckshot and about 200 22lr. Also, since I know Hipower will be reading, I did finally figure out what that last 4473 was for, and no I didn't have to check receipts to cheat!

Gotcha. They had a lot of grip styles over the years. Mine are tortoise shell plastic, judging by the sight ours aren't too far off, mines a mid-late 50s as I recall. Then again, I don't have mine in front of me so I'm comparing off memory with a shaky recollection on dating them.

Need some advice! Pics included
TrickyNicky replied to robin48's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
If you look closely at your second pic, there is a dot or ding pretty much smack in the center above the bipod. I'd mount it there. ;) -
A re-handle I've been working on

 Looks great Dr. Unclejack! -
Looks great. There's something about a parkerized finish on a revolver that I love. Some like blued, others nickel plate. I like those too, but a parkerized revolver just looks great IMO. If I ever wear through the bluing on my Blackhawk, I'll be having it parkerized. Now about those grips. I would consider getting a repro set, especially if the Tyler adapter is hard on them. True, much of the collector value is gone with the old finish, but you never know. Colts are still gaining popularity, those grips might be worth as much as the gun one day. Either way , great job on your restoration, it looks good and if it shoots well too, that's what matters most.

Get your colored Pmags while you can...
TrickyNicky replied to Chucktshoes's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
If it helps keep price down or even better, lowers it, I'm all for it. I want some FDE mags, but I can always rattle can the black ones. -
It's gotta be a sale. If there weren't so many thing I need coming up I'd have bought more in a heartbeat. They don't have indents/detents or anything fancy to mark a position, but they are well built, and at that price a real winner IMO.
-
Oh yeah, it's adjustable. I couldn't believe the price, I paid more than that on my first one for sure. It's the one on the bottom for $75.00 http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/gas-system-parts/gas-blocks/ar-15-m16-adjustable-gas-blocks-prod7592.aspx?avs|Manufacturer_1=J%20P%20ENTERPRISES Discount only shows when logged in.

I wouldn't worry too much on the lower. I got a few of them awhile back thinking if I hated the platform I wouldn't be out too much and if I liked them I could upgrade. Well I like the platform but so far haven't had any real reason to upgrade. The polymer is still holding up well. It doesn't get used under a lot of strenuous conditions, but it's my go to rifle for the range and goes every time. I don't own a case or bag so it's usually just tossed in the back seat or trunk loose. If TSHTF I'd be surprised if I live long enough to break it or wear it out. Thinking about it, might get some range time in though instead, or may sit at home broke  I'm afraid to check my account...

I'm actually thinking about it. If my new scope is here by then I'll skip it to go shooting, otherwise I might just have to stop by.
