Being a CA poster on a TN forum, posting about things in NJ is really more taking things to the max than shooting strange men kidnaping ones daughter in the middle of the night though. I'm not even a parent and I can tell you that would be IMO a perfectly reasonable time to fear for her safety and respond with force.

Is suggest a Ruger 22/45 as well. If you're can come to terms with the fact that it won't look like a 1911, you'll be getting a gun that lasts a lifetime and a half, is very accurate, and will make anything that fits in its chamber go bang. If your looking for a lifetime rimfire companion that you can use for everything to tin can plinking on up to competitive shooting, go Ruger, if you just want to have fun and plunk a bit, the GSG fits the bill.

I can see these being a good piece to the school security puzzle, but by no means a final solution. If I were a teacher I'd want a few, as many as the kids needed to cover up with, and one extra with a hole in the middle so I could wear it like a poncho while I waited for the shit bag shooter to either pass my class or come in. As far as scaring the kids, smart teachers will use the blanket as a game to teach kids to use it. That's what they did for earthquake drills in CA anyway. Gets the kids used to the actions without raising any concerns for them. I'd bet even money BersaGuy and a few other of you old timers would recognize the earthquake drills they taught us as being almost identical to A-Bomb drills of the Cold War.

For anyone worried about the coloration you can always do what I was going to do with the second one I never bought. Get a little skateboard grip tape on there and you'll be all set again in no time. :up: I was going to do this to number 2 only because it would have been for someone who has never even heard of TGO. Geeze I can't wait for these to be done. :x:

I don't know much anything about it, but I seem to recall getting a prepaid shipping label and pickup time when I sent my Henry back. Memory on that detail is funny as the LGS opted to send it in for me so never did print or use the shipping label. Will UPS accept a firearm at a home pickup? I guess they do for gun stores so it would seem likely?

I'm not in the market, but I'll be keeping my eye out anyway. With that kind if modularity, the only limitation is the success of the model. I can see drop in carbines happening if it's a hit. It will be interesting to see what Sig does with it, it could either be another glock copy, or I could be the ar15 of pistols.

They're both excellent! What does the Dolobuster weigh in at? I'd prefer a handguard a few inches longer, but I could certainly live with it as is. The top one is almost boringly perfect. Is that the Bushnell 1-4? How do you like it? I'm thinking about switching my red dots out for something like that as it just seems more versatile in all but low light conditions. Great job though all the way round, very nice!

If you don't have a lever gun of some kind yet you're missin out on a ton of fun IMO. For 1k you could grab one and have plenty left over for ammo. For fun if say go with a .38/.357 . Lots of fun and ammo is fairly cheap.

Are those the cornbreadish pouches of ground meat in the paper wrappers? If so I do like those but they are too bland out of the package. I need at least add some kind of cheese or sauce. They're very good with a little green salsa.

I was skeptical on it for a long time. There was a Far Side comic with a bear drinking peacfully out of a creek and a hunter taking AIM from behind a tree. The next panel showed the hunter at home in his den reading a book on his chair with the bear standing stuffed in a corner looking mean and ready to attack. That about summed up my thoughts on predator hunting as well. Keep in mind I grew up in a suburb where livestock was rare and predators who would take livestock were even rarer. The worst we had was a few cats going missing. :rolleyes: it wasn't until my late teens that I learned that predator hunting served a purpose beyond killing stuff. Now its one of the few forms of hunting I have any interest in participating in.

  :rofl: I'm only teasing ya, I think they were still Oriental when I was a young kid, or I just spent a lot of time with grandpa that might be coloring my memories. He was a great guy, couldn't pronounce the word Italian to save his life, came out like Eye-talian and I've caught myself saying that way from time to time. He also referred to Asians as Orientals long after it "changed", I've caught myself doing that too. ;)

Look at it like this, its wise to have a diverse savings portfolio. Cash and stocks are fluid, gold and silver are just fairly useless metals and art is too fickle. Keep buying the quality gun you have been and take care of them, they'll hold their value fairly securely.

Hey if its paid its debt to society, is hard working and on track, I don't see what his criminal history has to do with anything. Even if your oven had been a total boy scout the hot pocket still wouldn't have been worth the wait.
