  1. Hell in a better world the young man would be getting a handshake from the mayor and a certificate for bravery.
  2. Curious where you heard this? Sounds like speculation to me.
  3. It just won't go away!
  4. Unless by each violation they mean each shot. Then it could get pricey quick. (I doubt they do though)
  5. I guess that a .44 will drain just about anything!
  6. AIM is usually pretty quick, within a day or 3 in my experience. May be a bit longer just now as they did have a sale last week and are probably buried over with orders.
  7. Another thread got me started to thinking about my all time favorite movie, which one and why. Mine is Joe Dirt hands down, no photo finish. I'm not particularly enamored with David Spade, in fact I usually find him to be an annoying after thought that most films could do fine without(excluding his work with Chris Farley, those where great) but for JD he is and was the perfect pick. I think I like the movie so much because it has its funny moments, but mostly I like the overall message of being great in ones own mind, being happy with ones self. Joe is probably the biggest loser around in the eyes of most people he meets, but he finds a friend wherever he goes and his friends recognize his value. I think we've all felt like losers at one point or another, and at one point or another we've all realized that having a triumphant spirit can conquer the biggest obstacles. It's the movie I watch when I want to laugh, and more importantly it's the movie I watch when I need to laugh. I can't help but feel good for Joe at the end, and if your in a crummy mood, it helps to see someone make it at life, despite being born without the top of a skull. The number one lesson I take away from watching the movie every time; Life's a garden, dig it. So TGO, what's your all time favorite movie, and why?
  8. Not public but CHMR is a great place to shoot. http://chmr.us/CHMR/Home.html
  9. I only handled one once at Wally World but it seemed like a handy little rifle. An NFA version would be super cool.
  10. At the newest AR. Was supposed to be a blackout, but the barrel is and will be on backorder until mid month. I have this week off for vacation and really wanted to build one of my receiver sets, so last weekend I bought all I needed to build a 5.56 pistol instead. I'll do a parts list and initial review once it's done which should be tomorrow. The good/sad part is I really didn't need to buy much at all to get this done. Just the barrel, handguard, brace/tube, and KAK muzzle device. The rest I had lying around already. Anyway, here's a crummy phone pic of the mock up. I'm going to use a new to me brand of chalkboard paint on the handguard tomorrow. I've been using the krylon and like it, we'll see how the other brand compares.
  11. I'm thinking it hasn't dropped much in popularity, it may not be the topic if every other AR conversation anymore, but I think that's normal as the new has worn off. I'm seeing more availability for ammo and components and barrels are starting to be offered by more companies. I think it's still trending to be a long term round.
  12. Anyway they could have seen it or come across it while clearing the house? If so it would be an easy way to inquire that it was yours and not left by the intruder or an accomplice. Also by asking where it is if they already know they can make a determination on if it was maybe moved by someone other than the owner. All just possible guess work. Kinda weird though either way.
  13. I doubt we'll have an issue making 50 happen. BTW, my brother wants one so I guess put me down for 2. #37 and #??
  14. That's why I go to Nashville Armory, D&T, and G&L. In the case if Nashville Armory it's all about service. Their pricing is mostly good, but nothing ever super great. Their service on the other hand is impeccable. No type A commando jerks there. Well, one guy who worked the range, but I haven't seen him in months so I'm guessing the issue corrected itself one way or the other. I was in one store once talking ARs and the guy told me to join M4forum or whatever because it was "full of real operators like us, not those wannabe losers who have never used their rifle off range" at that point I just smiled and said "I am one of those wannabe losers." Not sure where he got in his head or why that I was military, but it took him aback when I said it and was pretty much the end of his interest in me as a customer. On my way out the door however he was nice enough to tell me that I had better vote the popular/conservative vote in TN as I had brought up the move from Ca. I thought that was super duper professional and not ****headed at all. I agree that attitude goes a lot longer with me than anything. I don't even ask for sunshine and butterfly farts, just don't be a complete ass and odds are good we'll get along well enough for me to spend some money. Amazing that someone could own a service or retail based business and not have figured that out.
  15. Classified section would be the best place too start. Since its a lower it would be in the firearms section. Welcome to TGO by the way.
  16. Lots of fireworks here too last Saturday. No pets so no problems, but I wonder if everyone was just dusting off last years fireworks leftovers or what? Seemed to be coming from two locations.
  17. Well since you are all apparently voting for 'me' I must be a shoe in. :D
  18. That was a very selfless thing you did Joe, good on you. I hope that a window opens for you in a timely fashion.
  19. One of the Nashville stores has ammo coming out the wazoo. Not too terrible at $.50 a round. I like the idea of it, but don't need anymore new calibers right now. Now if I find one of the 9 mm conversion models at the right place at the right time maybe more inclined to pick one up.
  20. You too are likely about the same age HP. He does ok with his glasses which I think are tri-focal. I need to get to an eye doctor. It's been near 20 years since I've been and despite all those carrots I've ate, I think my eyes aren't quite at the perfectly balanced 20/20 they were back then. Anyone know a 2A friendly eye doctor for me and Hipower?
  21. I thought they really kind of perfected their early sound on Ride the Lightning personally. "I'm......dying to live! Cry out! Trapped under ice!"
  22. Thanks for the feedback so far guys, I'm sending him a list of your recommendations and some pics. So far the TFO look like winners, but I wonder if a setup like Pops only with a TFO front and a black rear might be the way to go. It sure makes the front site pop. I guess we'll see what he thinks.
