Thinking about a 22 magnum rifle.....tell me about yours
TrickyNicky replied to gregintenn's topic in Long Guns
There's a remington 597 in .22mag on the classifieds. I have a 597 in .22LR and think that its a great gun, if I had an interest in the caliber I'd look into one. I don't think I've ever heard anyone bad mouth any CZ rifles, I'd think about that for a bolt action. I like a traditional looking rifle as much or more than anything tacticool, but the EBRs are a lot of fun too. -
New fighting bowie in my down time.

I love it! -
Pretty sure we DO have something like that in TN. Doesn't matter, the reason legal pot works is because pot heads continue to call the governments bluff and have been doing so since 1996 when Ca passed the first medical pot laws. Gun owners being primarily law abiding don't do this.

My county is probably anti NFA now

Screw him, what choice does he have? I'm pretty sure the AG will get real tired of that kind of crap real fast. -

Man that sucks. I hope they catch the SOB before he has a chance to offload them. -
Not the place to check out if your picky about your bbq. Now if you haven't tried edleys, that's a place to check out.

Keep getting the SAME survey spammer calling my phone!
TrickyNicky replied to Wingshooter's topic in General Chat
Start answering her calls "Hello, (nonsensical business name here) Would you like to take a brief survey?" Before she can answer just start asking her random questions. "On a scale from 1-10, how handsome do I sound?" "On a scale from 1-3, with three being higher than one, and one being of course lower than two, how much is the annual rainfall in your region compared to the national average?" "Would it be safe to say sir (always call her sir) that you average between 0-37 alcoholic beverages per evening?" "And lastly sir, what is the best number and time for us to contact you at home regarding your survey performance?" -
Yup, you either get Will Ferrel/John C Riley or you don't. No middle ground that I've found. John C Riley I think is an absolute nut, but a damn good actor. Most people wouldn't associate his role in Gangs of New York With Steve Brule

I like Barbcutie. The Franklin location is always clean and the service is great. They hire high schoolers too which I like as I remember it being very tough to find work while in and even just out of high school. The food is good, not great, but good enough to keep me coming back. I've never seen one posted, been to 4-5. Of course, I never figured to look either, BBQ places seem to fall off the radar when it comes to it. I've got visions of greens and Mac and cheese, pulled pork and smoked sausage clouding my vision. :yum:

Hmmm. Maybe try Lock Stock and Barrel in Franklin or Mid Tn Gunsmithing. Barring that I think a few members have done their own install, maybe a few good step by step instructionals on YouTube... -
  You keep telling yourself that buddy. All the way to the gun shop.... :p

Well I'm guessing it won't be multiple choice... :ugh: :yuck:

Paying it Forward and Maintaining Faith in People
TrickyNicky replied to TMF's topic in General Chat
It's one of those facts of life. People can be incredibly cruel, and they can be utterly selfless. Is what it is. -
Well its the same only different. People who get it will get it, people who don't will just see a cool camo lamp.

It reminds me of the story a camp counselor told me once about legitimate medieval hookers having signs saying "Fornication Under Consent of King." Cute story, but I think that's all it's supposed to be.

Well if it can't be made to work again for someone else, I'd have to second the Christmas story lamp with camo shade. The perfect lighting choice for any room.

I've got mixed feelings on the Vortex vmx3t. I've had mine for awhile now and while it does work well enough, I think its a little bulky. If I really needed to transition that quickly I can, but I think the screw in magnifiers that came with my vortex work just fine too. I'm thinking about trying an illuminated 1-4 to see if it wouldn't be my preference to just go with one of those instead, but it would mean a solid QD mount since I like shooting iron sights mostly.

Those things are expensive as hell. I know they have to be custom fitted, but it may be possible to pass it onto another veteran and they be able to have it fitted. Someone here might know of an organization to donate it too that can make that happen.

You know, logic would dictate that as long as they have a clear path of egress, the zombies would quickly vacate their cemetery's making the graveyard the safest place in a zombie apocalypse.
