  1. Screw that, like Ugly said its great land. Why can't they all just move to France or whatever is my question.
  2. Wow. This is a huge step for Ca. Lately they've been making some progress, some setbacks too, but look what their working with. It almost makes me wish I were there to bask in the yuppie misery. Almost.
  3. It's a 7.5" barrel with a KAK flash can on it for a total of about 11" or so. Not legally as nothing's pinned/welded. The handguard is a 9" cheapo from amazon (stay away). It works but is far from good. As to the blast I sadly can't say. Last range trip I brought it out to test and just never had the opportunity. Considering the flash can is basically a cylinder with a funnel shape opening up at the muzzle, I can see it possibly being fairly obnoxious. :D
  4. Totally worth it IMO. As KKing mentioned, a KAK or equivalent tube is a good idea to maximize the value. Terrible pic, but here's my ransom shot. It has a K2 grip on it now. Aside from being a bit too thin in profile I like it. I'm going to keep it on for now and see if it grows on me 100%.

  6. He's an actor. I'm not terribly surprised and I don't particularly care. Rather hypocritical to play his roles, but that's nothing new.
  7. Thanks buddy. I'm still on the fence regarding the outcome, we'll see what we'll see. One things for certain, I need to get a house so I can get two dogs. That way at least they'll have each other to pal around with while I'm at work.
  8. Great find. I'd like to have one as well, but most of my buys are done spur of the moment when I happen to have enough $$$ saved and happen to come across something I want. Maybe I'll get lucky and AIM will get a handful or two in again...
  9. That would be nice, but I think odds are better that we'll both hit the jackpot concurrently, and since I'm not buying any tickets, that would be quite a trick, even for TrickyNicky ;) So aside from that,a trust is a good option.
  10. I've noted his absence as well. Hope he's a alright, I always enjoyed his posts and the occasional back and forth.
  11. I didn't want to start my own thread, but I just wanted to give a shout out to John Wells at http://nashvilleguntrustlawyer.com for getting me all setup yesterday. It was really a breeze to get going and John was very patient while answering all my questions in such a fashion as I felt I understood the information he was giving me. In other words, he translates legalese into dummy talk at no additional charge. The whole thing took about 45 minutes including a nice chat about guns and local ranges. If you're planning on doing a mix of buying and building NFA items, a trust really does make sense, plus later on down the line I can include all my non NFA items into the trust if I want to keep them separate from my main estate for any reason. Not really any point in that now, but it may be useful in the future. Anyway, highly, highly recommend John Wells if your looking to get this setup. Thanks again John, hope to see ya at the range one of these days.
  12. I'm still in. I'm going to need to pay kind if last minute, but still in for one confirmed, possibly two if my brother comes up with the funds.
  13. I've found the best thing to do with Dave's is to dip a toothpick in about 1/2" and use what sticks to it to flavor larger proportions of other things like salsa or dips. It works well with other foods but 1/2" may be too much for somethings. Best part is since you're not pouring all the way out the bottle, the cap and threads stay clean so it's harder to get the residue in your eye after handling the bottle.

    Glock 19

Could be true for the department at the time. The Colts of the time were approved by many departments, the 2"detective special being particularly popular. Their biggest drawback overall compared with the S&W counterparts is the cylinder release. The S&W is faster and easier to reload and for me that would make the difference in what I carried. I've owned a Police Positive and still have an Official Police. They're great shooters and fine examples of engineering and craftsmanship IMO. Plus, they're staying somewhat affordable for now so that's nice. My next revolver will be a Ruger or Smith though.
  15. My Blackhawk has a lock. I haven't thought about it since I first saw it. It lives under the grips and doesn't bother me at all. I can't see how it could engage itself, but maybe. I'd just look for a model with no lock if the idea is unsettling. FWIW I've never personally heard a verified story if any of them actually engaging themselves. I believe it's mostly gun store/ internets lore, but if anyone can prove otherwise I'd be interested to see it.
  16. I knew I could count on you to come up with something HP,not what I had in mind however.

I'm not trying to establish a new pecking order or any think, I think s&w represents the best of both worlds in terms of what ruger and colt both bring to the table. I just like them all.
  18.    And 5 stars to monkeylizard just for voting. And 5 for tnguy just because I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.

No love for the Rugers? I'd have taken you for a Colt guy at least...
  20. Well with that kind of defeatist attitude I'm surprised you aren't lower  Free shot in the arm to Enfield and RC3. You all are 4 star in book.
  21. If I thought there was a legitimate police brutality problem in my town I would. The timing leads me to believe this is a reactionary protest from the events in MO. If that's the case I think they would be well advised to remove their heads from their butts and start protesting thuggish behavior and attacks on police officers.
  22. An appropriately sized pile of money is all you legally need to buy a firearm in TN, there are a few legal fine points, but those are better explained elsewhere in the forum. Now, to buy one of my guns, you will most likely need to either show me an HCP or sign a bill of sale. That's just me though, I require bills if sale when buying/selling guitars, so it's habit for me. Some people get a bit bent out of shape at the bill of sale idea, that's fine, chocolate and vanilla ice cream both exist for a reason.

My dads 36 is one if my favorite guns. I can't shoot it worth a hill, or even small pile of beans but there's something about it.
  24. Didn't think about it quite like that either. I guess things turned out ok. I don't imagine the dog lives a lifestyle like I would like to see every animal living, but then again, it's got a home it was wanting to get back to enough that it found a weakness in the gate I hadn't noticed before. She would have had to work to get that big ole pit head through too.
