  1. It's been said before, but I feel it is appropriate to say it again; Leroy for president!
  2. Musicman and I are in the same boat I'm afraid. Maybe after the new year, but not now. :(
  3. I can tell you the temptation to list myself as a Hispanic Pacific Islander is almost too great. I get a chuckle out of the idea every time I fill out the form. I dont know how racist the sheet is, but I can't really see who or how the info helps either.
  4. You need a foundation to build off of, the American Red Cross would love to teach you basic first aid. The course is quick and cheap, you get certified, and I had a modest amount of fun doing it. This time of year you would most likely be taking the class with a bunch of freshly graduated girls on their way to be teachers too as a bonus. I wouldn't dump a bunch of money into equipment you don't know how to use, and I wouldn't recommend going to a high end trainer for a basic class. Start small and cheap and start adding items to your kit as you learn more about them, how/when to use them, etc.
  5. Meh. Liam ain't even American, the hell does he know about the founding fathers anyway? I didn't realize he was a historian or biographer... I could have sworn his job was to entertain, kinda like a clown...
  6. I've got a Levang, and absent from your list a KAK flash can. I like the Levang for what it is and where it is. I use it on a fairly heavy DMR style rifle where muzzle flash and recoil are all but absent. For that I feel it does a fine job directing the noise away from shooters and others at the firing line. It is really no frills, the finish isn't great, but passable, I hit it with some chalkboard paint so it would match my barrel which I also painted. As too installing it without tools, call me crazy but I don't have a problem with it. I cranked it on by hand as hard as I could and the used Allen wrenches in the ports to create some leverage to tighten it a bit more. It can still come off if I really torque down on it, but so far it hasn't worked loose at all. YMMV. Now idk if the KAK can just doesn't fit the criteria your looking at, but it does a pretty good job with directing the noise also. I haven't used it much with 5.56, just a few rushed rounds to test it out. I'd consider it worth looking at, just keep in mind that it is heavy little sucker. I'm looking at some of the others you have listed too so it will be educating following this thread.
  7.    I think the request was for KKing to wear something low cut. I worry about this group sometimes....
  8. Are you hitting multi quote by mistake? I've had it happen before where I clicked multi quote a few times by mistake and that will do it.
  9. At the end of the day I think if Sig thought they could get away with having a "more stockish" brace, they would already. Seems to me that Sig is leading the march these days against BATFE stupidity in a lot of ways. Between their lawsuit over their integral brake/baffles and the whole brace thing in general. I wish this new business the best, if nothing else I would predict that it will help bring the pricing on sig braces down a peg to the $50-$75 range where IMO they belong. I'd also be interested in trying the new one at least once. I didn't think much of the sig either the first time I saw it, but it's proven to be an effective option so goes to show what I know. As far as wrapping the sling around the wrist, (crickets). Seems janky, especially so when you consider they recommend securing it in place with your thumb of your shooting hand. Lame as can be IMO. .16¢ Worth of nylon strap and .9¢ of Velcro could have made that whole idea much more viable.
  10. Illinois Nazis are the worst. Still, how can it be a Nazi plane without Nazi markings? Do thy at least give you a facsimile to put on there so it it at least looks right?
  11. Very cool! I'll agree that these pistols with braces are just about too much fun. I've shot mine primarily with a .22lr conversion kit and can't wait until my can is in hand for that. How do you like the off set sights? I noticed them in an action shot, but they're gone in the glamor shots...
  12. Hmm. I'm very comfortable with my pistol being a part time flame thrower. Its got the KAK on there now and I think it works very well, but it's heavy as all get out. I like the Levang on the 20" heavy barrel its on since there's already no real felt recoil with that rifle but I figured it could still be more pleasant to be behind or next to. Since the barrel on that one is so long there's not much to see RE: flame anyway.
  13. This. It almost looks like a tacticool SKS recievr pin sort of. It may serve a similar function on a different weapon. I'm guessing that or some kind of bolt\slide stop.
  14. How do you like the KAW? I've got a Levang and am quite happy considering the size and cost, but I do like the looks of those as well.
  15. I'm a member at CHMR and plan to stop by there tomorrow if I get the time. If I do and he's there I'll ask him about setting up something up. Note, the upper private range is handguns or rimfire only. I think he lets the PD get away with a bit more, but he's not keen on centerfire rifle up there. I'll ask what he thinks, if he's not completely opposed, I'll try to grab contact info to put you two in touch as while I'd have no objection to having you all as guests, I can't put this thing together right now. MonkeyLizard, I'll reach out to you and let you know.
  16. Haven't your coworkers learned yet not to mess with you? #### gets real when you mess with BigK!
  17. Whew. Just glad he's alright, hope he's back soon.
  18. What changed? Used to only need a button if there was a pistol grip involved.
  19. Man you guys are too quick! I was planning on posting that I couldn't edit Bersas posts either. Beat to it this time. But if it helps any, I seem to able to edit mine no sweat.
  20. Anyone else catch the "Hail Sagan" on the guys shirt? I love it!
  21. I'm not sure which David this is being addressed to, but I'm very sorry for your loss. The blessings an animal brings us through love and devotion are balanced by their short time with us. I do hope you were able to spend some special time with your 4 legged friend before doing what every good pet keeper eventually has to do. I still feel like a grade A butt head for not being there for my old girl Indy a few years back. I was living out of state at the time and it wasn't a shock when I got the call from my brother, but it still hurt. I know she'd have forgiven me in spades by now, but it's still hard.
  22. My advice? Whatever its on try to find another on eBay to scavenge parts off of. Now without knowing more details I don't know how feasible that is, but if it was anything even semi-mass produced that might be your best bet. Also just try searching for keyhole plates/covers/whatever, you'll likely get 10 billion hits to search from, but an hour of going through them while watching TV might just get you where you need to be.
  23. The hell you mean? I bet he can get all the way to the 3rd knuckle through one of those nose holes.
