Wanting to try a can
TrickyNicky replied to Pdheald's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I'm sure someone closer will jump on the chance to show off a few toys, but if not mine should be free anytime between now and mid January, OR we could probably organize a time to try it at Nashville Armory where it's being held pending the background check they know is clean and the payment check which cleared months ago. it's nothing fancy, just a Huntertown Arms Gaurdian 22. -
No, absolutely not. Could be that 1/2 the safes become useless, I don't know how or what kind if effect an emp would have on them, but inaccessible isn't the word I'd use. Not sure what tools it'd take to get one open , but I'd bet it wouldn't be much if noise and time weren't a concern.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!! That is a great bit of news around the holiday isn't it? Now let the spoiling commence! :D

:stunned: Where ya been the last 2 years and do they have any there?

This is the best bet IMO. Educate them on how the weapon breaks down for cleaning, teach them how to clean, and show them what a clean and lubed example is supposed to look like. I know that all that adds significantly to the bottom line RE: time vs profit in a low dollar sale, but you accomplish a lot with that time. Buy a few of the basic Hoppes cleaning kits and I bet at least 1/3 of the time your intro seminar will result in an up sale with minimal effort. Plus you'll get a reputation for being helpful and thorough which most people appreciate. You could make the whole thing optional too so when customers who know what's what shop with you they can take or leave the service. Maybe say something like "I'd sure love to show you know how to clean and maintain your new ___. Almost all guns should be taken down and cleaned before shooting anyway, would you like me to help show you how?"

Yup, I've got a barrel that cost the better part of $300 and some that were less than $80. I manage to suck equally bad with both of them. ;)

I got confused and ordered the K grip and hate it. Way too small IMO. The K2 looks fine, but I would recommend trying them both out if you can. Not a huge investment one way or the other I guess.

Very sorry for your families loss Dave. Find comfort in your family and be a comfort to them. My thoughts are with you.

That's an awesome looking rail, what's the inner diameter there at the muzzle end? I've got a kineti-tec that's similar to your muzzke decice and it will clear the utg pro rail which is very slim indeed. Any way that's a great looking setup for sure.

You need 'Ninja Power', young grasshoppa!

I doubt it highly ;) . -
^ This right here. Can't say it any better. I will say there's a right way and wrong way to do those little 2 minute jobs, get paid, AND leave your customer feeling great. As someone who's done a bit of guitar setup and repair, I can tell you I have no trouble charging someone $40-$50 to adjust a truss rod(loosening or tightening a nut) adjust their action,(play with some screws" and intonate their guitar (playing with different screws). I also had no trouble charging someone $60 to wrap an eraser with wet dry paper and take out the dent in the fret of their new guitar. Both jobs average 25-30 minutes and take minimal investment. Heck, intonate to your own ear and you can do it with common household tools. But people didn't pay me to play with screws and loosen/ tighten nuts, they payed me because I knew what to do, and how to do it. The biggest thing in keeping people happy was doing a good job, and doing the job AWAY from them. Had the smith in this case taken the gun in a back room, fixed it and brought it out in less than a minute, I'd bet we would be hearing about his magical fixing prowess.

pretty much exactly this only I won't begrudge a gun or ammo the rare failure. Shoot a lot and it's bound to happen, of course an ongoing or even intermittent problem is a different matter.
-
Nice dude! I'd imagine a fixed position stock would be what you want, just not a pinned carbine am I right lol? An AR10 would be so tempting if I could afford to feed it

Sometimes the knurled end of the crane will back itself out and be able to close but not reopen. Not sure if that's what happened here, or rather a variation where it wasn't fully tightened from the factory. On a new gun I'd say send it back for several reasons, but if you ever think this may have a happened usually holding the cylinder released open and giving the cylindar a sharp wack will open it so it can be tightened.

Secret Santa.. show us what you got....
TrickyNicky replied to Dolomite`s Breezy's topic in General Chat
Got my gift today! No pics since my cell camera is giving me the business, but a nice new Kershaw A/O was waiting for me when I got home! Thanks Secret Santa! -
Unsers death was the most satisfying of them all IMO. He was a dirty cop who was IMO at least as responsible as anyone else for every death past the season 2-3 finale (where they executed the hot DEA chick). No spilt tears for him or for Juice the rat, but I am at least glad it was quick and he got to finish his pie. Gemma. Wish I could say she got what she deserved, but she didn't. It'll have to do I suppose. Jax is going down on the mayhem vote, Chibs will be Pres if he lasts long enough, but won't ever be an Irish King. Wrong fit all around. Nero is doomed, not sure how, but his character is a perpetual victim in the world of bad guys. At the end of the day, not much is going to change for SAMC except some of the faces.

Could be birds dropping them too. Back lot and roof at work get them randomly.

Probably NOT the answer you want, but I load my 9mm with whatever SD ammo is available at a good price after I've cycled through whatever I bought the last time I found some on sale. I probably wouldn't go for full on frangible rounds, but pretty much any quality SD ammo will get the nod if its a few buck cheaper than normal. I do advocate buying enough at a go to run them through your pistol for a few mags to see how they feed and all, but that's one area where your smaller capacity comes in handy. It's a lot cheaper to run 3 mags through your 938 than it is to run 2 out of my M&P :D

Open Carry Dress Code.

This thread is so full of win it's not even funny. -
I've noticed there are two types of people in the world. Those who can watch videos like this in absolute fascination, and those who can't stomach more than a pimple popping. I'm in the first camp for what it's worth and while I'm not a doctor, nor did I stay in a holiday Inn express last night, an even 4-5/10 videos like this on YouTube where the Dr's have no idea it turns out to be some kind of insect or parasite. It's never fun trying to make suggestions to a stumped MD, but he might make that suggestion.

:stunned: What a scene. Just great.

I'm just not familiar with the builder. it sounds like a good price, but can you link is to the one you got?

Side Charging AR Billet Upper, Non Reciprocating & Forward Assist!
TrickyNicky replied to Tooreal's topic in Show and Tell
That's pretty cool. It would be cooler still at 1/2 the cost since it goes for almost as much as an NFA, but cool nonetheless. -
I'm really liking these kind of options, but am I the only one who things that the butt looks like a meat tenderizer?
